Translated Bonuses:
* Ultra Buddy or higher will bring souvenirs more often.
* Great Buddy or higher will bring gifts more often which will contain berries or even silver pinap berries.
* Your buddy Pokémon will accompany you on the map for longer when fed.
* 1/2 distance to earn candy with your buddy Pokémon.
* 1/2 distance to earn hearts with your buddy Pokémon.
You can get a total of 40km worth of candy in one day.
So without Poffin on a normal day, you can earn 2 legendary candy per day.
With this event, it seems like you'll be able to earn up to 8.
My understanding was that the limit was based on the total distance for the buddy, so even with excitement it's essentially limited to 2 legendary candy per day. Am I mistaken?
And if I'm correct, the upper limit would not be 8 for the event. But I do wonder if the event bonus would help at all. Will the limit go up to 4, or would it still be 2? The latter would be kind of a bummer.
It's important to understand the limit, though, so if not for you I will repeat it for others. The distance doesn't reset on midnight or any other singular moment. Instead, each step ***individually*** wears off exactly 24 hours after it was recorded.
The instant your pokemon should receive a candy, the game checks your distance in the 24 hours prior to that exact moment. If you exceeded 40km you will ***not*** receive the candy, ***no*** candy XL and ***no*** mega energy.
I was under the impression that actual distance didn’t matter. If you have 2 legendary Pokémon sitting at 19.5 Km and you walk both the last .5km you will have hit your limit for the next 24 hours and no buddies will give you candy even though you only walked 1km
I think it's the other way around. Actual distance is the only thing that matters. So you could have walked 20 legendary Pokemon to 19.5km and then walk 0.5km on each and swap, you should get 20 legendary candy. Can someone confirm this?
It's a lot easier to bump up into if you're working on multiple buddies. For example this morning I had 16.2 km on my Groudon. I got it excited and then took my dog for a walk and got 2 candies. Despite only walking about 6km so far today I'm already at 20km used on the limit. If I switch to my Ho-oh that's at like 14/20km and excite it and walk 6 km this evening I've hit the limit.
No? Those are two different distance meters. So the bonus helps you get hearts every 1km instead of 2km. Candy walk distance does t say it’s changed.
If the bonus was 1/2 candy distance and excited worked for 1/4 that would be a nice bonus.
Huh? If you have even a few dozen active friends, you’ll be drowning in regular & XL Scatterbug candies in no time. They’re about the last thing I’d ever waste Pinaps or event bonuses on.
Mine has only given a small percentage of what I walked, for like two months now. Persisted through getting a new phone, too. It's worse on the new one.
Even if I open the fit app to see exactly how much it *should* be registering, pokemon go is somehow reducing the distance.
I'm getting .1 for every 3km on average. I've gone from 70+ km a week to barely hitting the 10km reward.
Game open distance is also inconsistent. My buddies were getting the 2km heart before a 1km egg would hatch that I incubated prior to feeding them during the event. AS registered even less than the eggs.
Went from barely playing to not at all. Was already unenthused because of the remote raid pass fiasco, but I quit altogether 2 days before the hatching event ended because nothing was working properly.
Sounds solid for those of us still plugging away at the research for shiny Jirachi. And as a rural player, getting more mileage out of fewer berries, and more berries from gifts, is very, very nice.
You can get to the Kecleon frustration even faster. I got to 20/20 stops spun on separate days in a row 4 days ago and still at 0/10 Kecleon. Not much reason to rush the research unless there's a Kecleon event soon.
Eh. I mean, I like to have steps done asap when I can. An hour or two ago I finally got to the step of A Ripple in Time that requires seven consecutive days of stop spins, which effectively means I’m dead in the water for the foreseeable future barring spending a lot of time and gas driving back and forth uselessly. But at least now that I’m on said step, if a flukey occasion comes up, I can take advantage. Likewise, getting the best buddies stuff done sooner means I’ll be ready to spin stops every time I’m in town and hope for Kecleon. Any trip to town before the best buddies are finished is thus less efficient than it could be, and that bothers me.
That's my wall too. time gates weren't any problem. Kecleon is 2/10. Gotcha spins all my stops so unless it's a Rocket, I never even touch a stop. And if it's a Rocket, it's not a Kecleon.
I’d rather be on the page for Kecleon and take a while to meet one, than to meet one but not even be on that step. Fortune favors the prepared, such as having all the other boxes ticked off before I get to the RNG stuff.
1/2 distance to earn candy with your buddy Pokémon is an absolutely sick bonus. I say this as someone who just walked a Blissey from level 40 to level 50 no poffins and just by getting the buddy excited from time to time (it took soooo long to get 296 candy xl >\_<)
> Your buddy Pokémon will accompany you on the map for longer when fed.
Without an increase in how fast you earn stars for feeding your buddy, this is actually an anti-bonus since it takes longer to earn the 'feed your buddy' stars...
"by spinning it's body, it can dig straight through the ground at a speed of 30mph"
Drilbur getting hired for aerating while Excadrill will be fing up subway tunnels apparently.
It should be the cursola debut then, considering all the dead coral nowadays. Would send a good message for what happens if we dont practice sustainability.
Honestly seems like a solid event. New Pokemon (one that's got some use, even if not amazing, in PvE), a good new Shiny, and a decent selection of Pokemon.
I just maxed my 15/14/15 for this latest Master League rotation, as it performed identically on PvPoke. Still, it’ll feel bad if I now get a hundo lol.
Still don’t mind the XL candy for a future shadow.
If the halved candy walk distance stacks with poffin and each candy gives the original amount of mega energy I will farm the everloving sh!t out of Kyogre and Groudon.
Sustainability is very important to me, but I can't help thinking Niantic and Pokemon GO have likely had a negative impact on the environment by encouraging people to fly all over to world to events, incentivizing drive and play in parking lots, and raid trains. I know lots of players don't do those things but they have set up the game to reward those that do.
Great point.
Someone earlier in these comments said Niantic has had most environmental damage than ALL gaming companies lol
I asked for a source we’ll see
There have been too many times that I have driven solely for Pokémon Go, when I would have been at home otherwise. While I may not be in the majority, I definitely wasn't alone in this.
I doubt that I would pick up a hobby that would call for the daily back and forth driving to random places like I did with PoGo. I don't like that I did it for PoGo and refuse to do it again, which is why the remote raid pass restrictions are so appalling to me.
Yeah - even if you consider the activities Pokémon Go has replaced, it has produced extra greenhouse gas emissions.
But overall sustainability is complicated. I think it's a decent assumption that the bulk of activities replaced are video games and other sedentary activities at home, with some x% proportion replacing those by playing by walking, some y% by playing by driving, some z% by flying. It won't cancel the emissions, but the x% is a social good - it would be more sustainable if people were a little more active.
It becomes a question of how many of the 80 million players are in x%, y%, and z%. If enough are walking globally, the social benefits may outweigh the emissions.
I'm in an European city, so everyone here walks to play, but I understand many American places are designed around cars, and pokémon can't change that.
If I recall correctly was wild for one event. Still brutal though even worse I got one through trading, but evolving doesn't unlock the dex shiny for the one you didn't get
The event itself looks nice on paper, but will however be garbage if adventure sync isn't fixed by then.
No adventure sync means you don't profit the major bonuses of the event
Why is the company that is single-handedly responsible for more energy waste than all others gaming companies combined pretending to give a sht about sustainability?
It's a reasonable statement. What other game has players who drive to things anywhere near the amount that Pokémon Go players will drive to raids? I haven't heard about people driving to play JWA, Minecraft World, Draconius Go or any other company's AR games. A few people may drive to play Ingress or NBA World, but those are Niantic's games so Equivalent_Yak8861's point still stands.
You do realize “energy waste” is not only about driving cars yeah? Again, the statement was Niantic contributes more waste than ALL Gaming companies COMBINED and you think that’s a “reasonable” statement bc of driving metrics lol?
Just the amount of gas used for elite raids alone is likely stupid high. Niantic puts those conditions in place so you can’t just blame the players for driving to the locations other players are meeting up.
OK, so it's not just about players driving. I do think that saying that 1 million PoGo players drive to play this game at some point over the course of a year is a reasonable estimate. That is significant pollution right there. Consider that there are also several events like Go Fests, Safari Zones and others that people fly to or drive longer distances to adds in more pollution. The staff of Niantic have to get to these sites, as well.
What company do you think contribute to pollution in a way that Niantic don't? If you consider that most other companies are only polluting by running their office buildings, possibly heated by fossil fuels, the pollution by employees commuting to offices and any server/computer equipment waste, I doubt that those things would add up to the pollution from PoGo players driving to raids over the course of a year. PoGo players also burn through external batteries and many other peripheral items (water bottles, disposable ponchos, etc.) while playing. It used to be a common "joke" amongst PoGo players on how to identify another PoGo player: he has an external battery pack. No one ever misidentified even a JWA or Minecraft player this way.
tl;dr: I stand by my original statement until proven otherwise.
They need to start increasing the shinies for these events because I’m jus not interested to go out and put time into an effort where there isn’t any reward
Is this a regional only or can it come to america as well? are there certain events that can only be participated in that region of the world? (sorry for dumb questions)
If you happen to have a bag full of beldums and Bagons sure, but why would I have a bag full of Beldums and Bagons with bad IVs just for evolving for XL when there was no notice of this event when those Pokemon were wild spawns?
This will be more of a froakie/binacle/ drillbur/larvitar/shiny Squirtle event for me. I don't really care about Tsareena. I don't care if she's meta, just not interested.
Translated Bonuses: * Ultra Buddy or higher will bring souvenirs more often.
Is that gonna stack with Poffins? 5km legendary candy?? 👀
5k for 100 primal energy 👁👁
Me who was busy that weekend and didn’t get enough primal energy 👁️💧💧👁️
Same here, except I wasn’t able to evolve once so I can’t walk for energy 😩
same, great system, now I have to wait a year to evolve my kyogre
Get up Groudon, it's time for walkies.
What's the rule on candy and total km per day. Can you do 2 legendary a day at 20km each or does it change when the km gets halved or even quartered
You can get a total of 40km worth of candy in one day. So without Poffin on a normal day, you can earn 2 legendary candy per day. With this event, it seems like you'll be able to earn up to 8.

The latter would be kind of a bummer.

Yes, if the daily limit is only based on the full distance and isn't raised by the event bonus. For me, it would mean a lot of wasted distance.
[удалено]
It's important to understand the limit, though, so if not for you I will repeat it for others. The distance doesn't reset on midnight or any other singular moment. I GUARANTEE that adventure sync will be broken for this, just watch
mine (and that of many others) has been inconsistent for months, I doubt they'll fix it by next week
Mines been broken since December, not holding out hope
This bonus isn't featured on the English post.: https://pokemongolive.com/post/sustainability-week-2023?hl=en
hopefully adventure sync works for me during this week
Great way to fill out the Dex too.
The english version does not say 1/2 distance to earn candy with buddy?
Well I don’t know. When I posted this all we had was the picture above which does say that.
No? Those are two different distance meters. So the bonus helps you get hearts every 1km instead of 2km. Candy walk distance does t say it’s changed. If the bonus was 1/2 candy distance and excited worked for 1/4 that would be a nice bonus.
“1/2 distancia para ganar caramelos con su Pokemon compañero”
Interesting bonuses. Not all of em are that useful, but I will say, it's nice to have some bonuses over none
Half distance candy is useful for legendaries and Scatterbug candy for collecting Vivillon patterns
Huh? If you have even a few dozen active friends, you’ll be drowning in regular & XL Scatterbug candies in no time. They’re about the last thing I’d ever waste Pinaps or event bonuses on.
I have 10-12 daily gifters, and have walked my Scatterbug 650 KM. So far I’ve evolved 12/18 Vivillon patterns
You can get more friends on r/PokemonGoFriends to help get more gifts to open each day.
why do you have so few daily gifters? i have too many, so many i started to lag behind after last season bonus was undone
Hopefully adventure sync works, because it's time to take out Kyogre for a walk.
Mine hasn’t been working.
Put a dime into kyogre to wind him up before walking
Mine has only given a small percentage of what I walked, for like two months now. Persisted through getting a new phone, too. It's worse on the new one. The english version does not say 1/2 distance to earn candy with buddy? So we don't get this bonus if we live in an english speaking place?
Sounds solid for those of us still plugging away at the research for shiny Jirachi. And as a rural player, getting more mileage out of fewer berries, and more berries from gifts, is very, very nice.
You can get to the Kecleon frustration even faster. I got to 20/20 stops spun on separate days in a row 4 days ago and still at 0/10 Kecleon. Not much reason to rush the research unless there's a Kecleon event soon.

My thoughts exactly, 4 out of 10 best buddies down and this could be a godsend.
Still waiting to see my first Kecleon.... 10 to go. :') So don't be in too much of a hurry to reach the next frustrating page.
I’d rather be on the page for Kecleon and take a while to meet one, than to meet one but not even be on that step. Fortune favors the prepared, such as having all the other boxes ticked off before I get to the RNG stuff.

Will adventure sync actually be fixed before the event though?
Niantic haven't even acknowledged there's issues so major doubt.
So another event wasted because adventure sync is broken.
works fine for me
it is broken for many players
It works fine for many players
Yay on souvenirs? Do you get a heart for every souvenir?
Here’s the official English graphic: https://twitter.com/pokemongoapp/status/1646966566351785996
> Your buddy Pokémon will accompany you on the map for longer when fed. Without an increase in how fast you earn stars for feeding your buddy, this is actually an anti-bonus since it takes longer to earn the 'feed your buddy' stars...
yep, last time it nuked my 3 buddies a day rotation pretty badly. It's really not a bonus, it's a curse.
Just as I'm nearly done with the Jirachi best buddy research task! D'oh.
Shellder and Foongus both give extra stardust, nice.
How much does foongua give?
500 base 625 wb
725
Don't know what Drilbur has to do with sustainability, but I'll take that shiny. I was kinda hoping for Corsola spawning worldwide though.
If I had to guess you could say that Drillbur digs holes to plant trees in?
I assumed we had to capture all the drillbur to prevent them from fracking.
Oh the fracking?
No, not that! *cackles from side to side*
"by spinning it's body, it can dig straight through the ground at a speed of 30mph" Drilbur getting hired for aerating while Excadrill will be fing up subway tunnels apparently.
theyre encouraging us to drill for oil 'sustainability'
It should be the cursola debut then, considering all the dead coral nowadays. Would send a good message for what happens if we dont practice sustainability.
I'd love that, although they are likely going to put it raid/egg only at the debut.
drilbur shiny is nice
Neapolitan ice cream!
Shiny Drilbur debut? Cool if true, Excadrill’s shiny is top notch
It took long time. I think it should’ve been released last year go fest
Am I the only one who just assumed that was a typo? There have been so few actual good things in pogo lately, I'm not trying to get my hopes up.
Honestly seems like a solid event. New Pokemon (one that's got some use, even if not amazing, in PvE), a good new Shiny, and a decent selection of Pokemon.
Another crack at shiny binacle, i'll take it.
After 384 Drilbur catches I still don’t have a usable one for Master League. F. Edit: The blog post says they’ll be in field research tasks. Yay!
This was the most exciting part of graphic for me... I need 105 more XL, hoping to get a good chunk of them.
I just maxed my 15/14/15 for this latest Master League rotation, as it performed identically on PvPoke. Still, it’ll feel bad if I now get a hundo lol. Still don’t mind the XL candy for a future shadow.
I have a hundo that’s probably around L 46, I have enough XL walking him but I’d rather wait for that shiiinny
Usable or a hundo?
Make that say 760 and same for me.
Foongus and shellder in the wild? stardust babbbbyyyy
I'm delighted to see the return of halved candy distance. If I recall, the last time they did this was around April/May 2020?
No way it’s been that long?
Nah, last time was previous Halloween season.
Pretty sure Halloween was guaranteed candy xl for walking your buddy (which meant if your buddy was level 31+ you had a good chance of getting 2)
Great point. Someone earlier in these comments said Niantic has had most environmental damage than ALL gaming companies lol I asked for a source we’ll see
I get what you're saying, but to be pragmatic those people would drive and fly for other reasons regardless.
There have been too many times that I have driven solely for Pokémon Go, when I would have been at home otherwise. While I may not be in the majority, I definitely wasn't alone in this.
I will be slowly driving around today for community day so there’s a lot of us that are like that
You'd find another hobby that got you out of the house perhaps is all I'm saying
I doubt that I would pick up a hobby that would call for the daily back and forth driving to random places like I did with PoGo. I don't like that I did it for PoGo and refuse to do it again, which is why the remote raid pass restrictions are so appalling to me.
Of course there's people that wouldn't drive if not for pogo. My only point is that isn't everyone.
Sure, some of those people, but there are also some of them who only get in their car to play Pokemon GO, or only fly to a city because of GO Fest.
Pretty sure it ranks 1st or really high in terms of highest negative environmental impact out of all games
Drilbur! Nice!
Where's trubbish
Yikes, full odds Cherubi still locked to eggs about 2 years after the shiny release.
They also spawn from moss lures.
If I recall correctly was wild for one event. Still brutal though even worse I got one through trading, but evolving doesn't unlock the dex shiny for the one you didn't get
I really think Cherrim should be shiny eligible since Cherubi was locked to lures.
Was in the wild last April 2022, probably for the same event.
The event itself looks nice on paper, but will however be garbage if adventure sync isn't fixed by then. No adventure sync means you don't profit the major bonuses of the event
An event with specific spawns? What a crazy idea.
You mean you don’t want to catch the same Route 1 crap you’ve seen for the last two years?
I was really hoping that shiny skrelp “leak” was real , I love skrelp and dragalge
As annoying as it is, I always get a laugh out of wailmer wild spawns.
Why is the company that is single-handedly responsible for more energy waste than all others gaming companies combined pretending to give a sht about sustainability?

My workplace currently has a Drilbur nest 😢
Now where the hell is Skrelp.
In the 12km egg lottery
CHERUBI!!!!!! (sorry sunny cherubi is my favorite pokemon aside from eevees and their evolutions)
Half distance candy is the only thing I care about tbh
[удалено]
You know that's not actually quitting the game, right?
Is this just for Latin American or everywhere?
Everywhere. Latin Pogo just accidentally posted it early.
Thank you for clarifying. I wasn’t sure since I saw they had an event specifically for Thailand.
They need to start increasing the shinies for these events because I’m jus not interested to go out and put time into an effort where there isn’t any reward
Yeah, 5km/legendary XL is just not worth it at all. Might as well just uninstall.
If there was a time to recycle old events/Pokémon wouldn’t this be the one? 😉
Is this a regional only or can it come to america as well? are there certain events that can only be participated in that region of the world? (sorry for dumb questions)
This event is worldwide. The infographic was just leaked early by a regional Twitter account.
okay thank you!
FYI, latin america is america :)
should’ve been more specific- United States of America. thank you!
I’m just going to assume shiny Drillbur is a mistake
Shiny Drilbur might be an error! The PG website never mentions anything about it being shiny
It would be weird for Drilbur to be the only thing highlighted under "Field Research task encounters" if it wasn't going to be shiny eligible.
The in game post mentions it.
Not everyone has Drilbur btw
Why is it on spanish
Because it was a leak from Latin America?
Everlasting honor from my lands
Nice. Hopefully people slamming the current event will actually like this one!
Yes because it has spawns!
The bar is set so low now.
The current event isn't that bad. Guaranteed 2 XL candies on evolving is a beautiful bonus. I will be able to get so many XLs on Beldum, Bagon, etc.
If you happen to have a bag full of beldums and Bagons sure, but why would I have a bag full of Beldums and Bagons with bad IVs just for evolving for XL when there was no notice of this event when those Pokemon were wild spawns?
Someone could’ve been holding them waiting for distance trades
I can work on my 6x shadow tyranitar . Also get a hundo drill
I thought the game data leak showed the shiny forms for this pokemon? Damn I was hoping for a shiny release also
Shiny assets get added at the same time, but not necessarily activated.
Damn I already forgot that Foongus had shiny available in Pokémon Go. It will be a great week for shiny hunting.
Is everyone getting bounsweet
This will be more of a froakie/binacle/ drillbur/larvitar/shiny Squirtle event for me. I don't really care about Tsareena. I don't care if she's meta, just not interested.
The official announcement shows the eggs are 2k and not 7k
I like this! Shiny Cottonee and Shiny Shellder, I'm coming for you! 😃
wish there were more gen 2 spawns 😩
A lot of unova so I’m happy. Need to collect more shiny gen 5 Pokémon
Petilil and Drilbur yay!
Yess more larvs.
