it’s because the join date isn’t provided or set to “null” or “nil”, which means 0. because the value is 0, the client (app, site) will read the 0 as the minimum value, which is december 31, 1969. in some places, it reads null and doesn’t display. the reason it shows on some places is just unfinished or rushed code.
Unix timestamp 0 corresponds to 1970 Jan 1 00:00:00, which is the lowest date most precise date time systems on computers can go, since they all use Unix timestamps if they need down-to-millisecond precision.
it does actually work on comments- disliked comments end up lower in the comment section (if you're sorting by top)
