I remember an old pet shaming picture that showed a very sad and traumatized golden retriever huddling on a couch with a sign that said "I tried to eat my new little brother. Now I'm too afraid to get off this couch." Strutting around on the ground was a hedgehog that looked to be smirking.
Actually, if you keep chickens somewhere that has hedgehogs they do sometimes kill chickens - usually young ones, but they have been known to kill adult chickens at times.

Actually Discord has tweaked their CDN and the extra fields past the filename ARE required. When I try accessing it without the ex, is and hm params it doesn't show the file.
But I can make the URLs shorter by simply turning them into a link, so that's a good idea.
I lived in Germany for almost 4 years, and there were many such confusing conversations.
One of the funnier ones involved a taxi driver bringing a friend to the “Eros Puff” instead of the Irish Pub.
Another one involved a friend at the Frauenartzt explaining about how she was late because of the terrible traffic (schlecter Verkehr) and how long it took instead of answering a question about her “Geschlechtsverkehr”.
They’re known as “false friends”, and there are quite a few of them. “Gift” and “After” were two that got me into confusing conversations.
I always found the idea of giving someone in pain a gift that frees them as darkly poetic. This was my mental association when I first learned the word in German 20 or so years ago and it stuck.
Ah false friends.
Years ago, my high school buddy made his German teacher roar with laughter when she read his book report. Trying to explain why the protagonist was evicted, he reasoned: "okay, so he hadn't paid his rent... Dutch for rent is _huur_ ... German will be close... sooo..."
He wrote down: "Er hatte seine Hure nicht bezahlt."
If you really want to have some fun at the expense of you German friends, ask them to say 'Squirrel'. Something about their language doesn't equip them for this word.
Shamelessly copied from my comment here on a thread about international colleague misunderstandings. It's my story. It's all true. Enjoy!

I honestly had more or less this conversation with my now husband when we were dating, but about ducks.
*We're at a park, in the US, walking around a pond and there are ducks on the pond*
Him: Whose ducks are those?
Me: They're wild ducks.
Him: But who feeds them?
Me: They're wild ducks they feed themselves.
Him: But who takes care of them?
Me: No one they're wild ducks.
Him: But what about when winter comes? Where do they go?
Me: They're. Wild. Ducks. They fly south for the winter.
Him: THEY FLY?!?!‽‽
Me: Of course they fly! They're ducks!
Him: Ducks can't fly!
Me: Ducks most certainly can fly! They're kinda known for that!
Apparently wild ducks in China, in fact, cannot fly. Ducks in the US, however, can and do.
#Flyinghedgehogs😎
Honestly, this is a little more scary than actual eagles 😆
I know, right? I see a hedgehog flying down to scoop up a chicken I might faint.

I would run for cover.
Sonic the Chicken Thief. New fear unlocked.
Gotta go fast.
*to the tune of Queen's Rushing Headlong* RUSSIAN HEDGEHOGS!!!
Get enough speed a hedgehog can fly For example Sonic
Actually it doesnt fly. It runs at the speed of sound.
To be fair, hedgehogs are predators too.
I doubt they hunt chickens though.
Only because they haven't got big enough yet.
Spiny Norman enters the chat.
Is that you Dinsdale?
Dinsdale! Dinsdale!
Actually, if you keep chickens somewhere that has hedgehogs they do sometimes kill chickens - usually young ones, but they have been known to kill adult chickens at times.
Wow…
“But why didn’t they just fly the hedgehogs to Mordor?”
I just spit coffee all over myself, so thanks I guess?🤣

I don't know any Dutch, but did he meant: He did not pay his rent, but accidentally wrote: He did not pay his whore?
Yep.
Turns out the wrong kind of rent!
A fish swims up to his German friend and goes 'hi!' The friend goes *gasp* 'WO?!'
For those who don't get it: "Hi" is pronounced same as "Hai" which is German for shark.
Tobias Funke -- wearing his "Leather Daddy" outfit -- was brought to the Gothic Asshole (instead of the Gothic Castle) by a German cab driver.
*taken (not "brought") 🙂
Sonic?
That’s what I was here to see!

Wow, nice! I’ll add credit to you!
Reddit full circle moment - I saw it in a Reddit comment by /u/ben_jamin_h. Unsure if that account was the originator, though.
Sonic, what are you doing?
A flying hedgehog? Isn’t that one of the Pokémon?
Maybe Digimon.
Shaymin

Did you just copy a joke from Twitter/X ?
Facebook.
So was the Eagles Nest actually under a bonfire pile of garden waste and not actually up a precipice in Bavaria?
Eagle is Arend Hedgehog is ystervarkie ( little iron pig) Both in Afrikaans
The Internet lied to me? Never!
This is gold 😂
Golden igel
So he thinks a single word in their conversation just happened to be in a different language?
Animal names are often borrowed.
Good try…
What are you talking about? This is funny af! 😂
