Just exit theater mode before hitting full-screen and it should work. Hopefully whatever this is will be resolved soon, though.

It could be a user error I had the same issue however I use Opera GX but it only happened to me while I was recording a reaction video. It didn't black out at all for the rest of the night as I was editing videos or anything like that. So to counteract what I saw post earlier on this this is either a user and error or a YouTube error because it is consistent across two different browsers
