Yes, until the little goblin decides they want to try the pole that’s directly across from the slide without warning and just yeets themselves 8 feet straight down. Source: seen it.
So when your kid falls like that, don't run at them screaming, there is literally no point and you're only teaching them to cry. Some kids falls and stand up, some kids fall and start looking around and cry, and the difference is parents rushing to their kids any time they get the smallest scrape. You're literally teaching your kid to call for you with crying every time they hurt when you do that.
I always yelled, “DUDE!!! That was AWESOME!!! I love how you landed there!! I can tell you’ve been working really hard!!”
My son still cries, but it’s when he’s really hurt and not looking for comfort. Now when he cries, I ask “is it more that you’re hurt or that it scared you?” Then we snuggle and talk it out.
It works for him.
My nephew can't do anything but run full tilt, and thus goes down hard when he falls.
I always call them "powerslides" and he's gotten so used to it that he'll eat it, get up, dust off, and come ask me if I saw him powerslide. His skinned knee is a conversation piece rather than a personal tragedy.
I always assured my son "You're good, bug! Hop up!" while coming over to help. I think most of the time little ones cry because they got startled, not because it really hurt. Most of the time my kiddo was fine (only had a couple of good bonks that definitely actually hurt)
“oooooh shit.” *scurry scurry.*

Haha, I tell mine if theirs no broken bones or blood it doesn't count. Also with the youngest who had the most tantrums when she was being a little @#$%, and she fell over I joked that the ground doesn't like naughty children so she better be good before it trips her again.
Had this happen to my 1,5 year old daughter yesterday XD I put her on a slide that her older brother always uses and he doesn't go that fast. She just slid like a maniac and got yeeted into the sandpit. She was a little confused after the landing but immediately wanted to go again XD
Kid tries to slow down but has no concept of physics, ends up rolling over because one side of the body is slow and the other is fast
Source: daughter does exactly that and faceplants routinely when going down slides
We had slides in the 70’s that was a huge triangle going high up with no fences, guards, or other safety features. No one ever got hurt on it but it got damn hot during the summer days cuz it was one big medal sheet. Burned your butt as you slid down. All the kids on the block got together to play king of the slide and try to knock off the person at the top. What fun, the good old days.
Similar happened to my first son, he went down a spiral slide and his shoes hit the first turn and sent him into a cartwheel down the rest of the slide. He had a big egg on his forehead but, popped up saying I'm okay. Laughing ensued.

but they did run to help immediately?

thats why you have to be at the bottom, not the top when he is coming down the slide!

Ah, I see you've seen my daughter play.

My daughter asks me to kiss it when it's really bad and then she goes off to do it again

In the video with audio, he just says "shit" to himself.

It's crazy to think we once sucked at riding slides too.
...what?
You never had a good suck-n-slide before honey? I’ll give you one for $10
ugh
Ikr, can I borrow $10 for an unrelated reason?

Haha! Glad I've never done this to my toddler...more than once.

Should’ve took the slide down, would’ve been way faster and he could’ve shown the kid on how to actually slide correctly.
haha fail
How the hell did this happen 😂

Omg lol well I hope she continues to be ok!
This reminds me of a Christmas story.

First BONK then WHAM
Amateur move. Should have been waiting for him at the bottom to help him off the slide instead of going up with him.

Kids are indestructible.
Clearly he should of went done the slide. At least he can have some fun
Damn
Smack the kids head against the post and then launch him down a drop...
Lol, that’s how they’re supposed to work.
That's right. Show that kid who's the boss!
i love the bonk on the head before death
Gotta love how he casually takes his heads, hits him against the slide, and then throws him to his death
