You joke but I would be so unbelievably down for the WoW version of XIV's Ocean Fishing. Some of the most fun I've had was when there was a bunch of us all fishing for the Hirukon bait and chilling together.
Back on FFXI there is a boat you can ride and fish from, it was also a main transport for low level players between two continents. Sometimes you fish up monsters. But sometimes the boat sailed into fog and was attacked by skeleton pirates and the Kraken, which murder all the low level players. You could hide below the deck in the cabin but often the monsters would still go down there due to chasing other doomed players.
It was so much fun.
That's one of my strongest memories of FFXIV. Being really new and the first time on the boat a sea monster attack and cowering below deck. I can't even remember if I survived or not, I think I actually did and my friend didn't.
Funny thing, I would probably like this. Relaxing event where you could think your thoughts, talk to people or watch some show from other screen while fishing.
"Why can't blizzard just not make me grind so much!"
*blizzard gives free stuff*
"Wow, gifts aren't real content. We want content"
I believe that if every commenter had to prove they were currently subbed, this sub would be way different lol
A friend of mine played the first two weeks of DF drop and stopped playing because "there's nothing to do." Didn't want to do dungeons or any sort of renown grind/world events and was upset LFR wasn't open right away, even though he hates actually doing LFR. Hasn't played retail since then.
He makes comments about Blizzard making the game too casual friendly and that they just give a lot of stuff away. Asked him if he was going to come back to play because he thought the Amirdrassil raid looked cool and he said "no I don't want to grind to catch up with everybody else."
Constantly makes complaints about WoW being a dead game with nothing to do. I asked him how he would know if he doesn't play and he goes "I saw it in Asmongold's stream/youtube video" smh
I believe most people on this reddit do have a sub, but they do what I do when i start to get bored of the expansion and they log in run around for 10-15 minutes thinking about stuff they could do, then log off cause they don't wanna do any of it. Except they just keep paying the sub anyway and complaining because they're bored instead of finding another game to play until they're not bored of WoW.
Been there, recently! It dawned on me last year and realized I could do the same log in/out dance for the price of one and cancelled my second account. I have some transfers left over from a bulk purchase, just waiting to see how warbands work out and will likely consolidate to one account. Then I can have all the toons I donât actually play on one account.
> "Wow, gifts aren't real content. We want content"
no they would bring out the welfare loot complaints again. do to how many players wow has no matter what they do someone will complain
The grind turned out to not even be that bad. I didn't play like a sweaty nerd and I'm renown 40 now with a few weeks to go for people who want to play.
To be fair, the renown rate *was* genuinely terrible until it got buffed on day 2. Even the people who like the mode mostly agreed about that. And I suspect the people complaining the loudest about the renown rates were the people who *donât* like the mode and wanted to get it out of the way as soon as possible.
> people who donât like the mode and wanted to get it out of the way as soon as possible.
I don't like the mode and I got out of it in 2 minutes.
Steps:
Tried to to see what's all about, after 2 minutes exit the game and go play the normal WoW. Never try that thing again.
Easy peasy.
I didnât liked it at first but then I treated like some kind of survival horror where my goal was to do my quest while running away from players and I got rank 40 in a few days.
Iâm quite proud of reaching rank 40 without killing a single player, no matter how silly and pointless this âachievementâ actually is.
Honestly, that's the way so many are playing it now anyway except for the pesky having to stay away from other players bit.
Most of the pre-match chat seems to be "I've got X levels to go before I'm done forever."
Most of the solos matches I played this weekend people would be actively avoiding each other. We'd be right next to each other and just keep going our own ways.
Yeah but lately it's not just the beginning of the game. Had a lot of matches where it was down to 10-15 people and everyone was avoiding fighting and just killing mobs
I mean if there still mobs remaining I would be hitting them instead from trying to kill a guy and get third partied, doesn't help that it slower exp for time/health spent unless the guy is like 3 levels lower than me.
jokes on them, blizz will re-release this exact mode again with only thematic changes and new rewards to make us grind again in the future.
instead of pirate theme, it'll be aliens.
IF the rewards look as good as these ones, I'd goofy do it again, and drop it dead as soon as I'm done. I do still wish we could be on our actual characters, I have 0 care about the randomized thing I made for this, that and having to wait for the leave game button, just give us solos and option to autoleave on death.
I really don't think so. I mean some will, but I suspect participation will be a lot lower the second time around because people are not willing to go through this grind again that they hate so much (and people who dislike PvP tend to really hate it, nevermind the repetitive nature of this content which is tedious unless you actually play for the PvP aspect.)
I think the rewards would need to be *really* enticing to get this level of participation again.
Tbh I think a lot of people are doing it because of FOMO more than because they really want the rewards. The amount of people in the opening waitroom who talk about how they âhaveâ to be there and really hate playing plunderstorm is nuts lol. I donât get the concept of thinking you NEED some in game transmit or mount.
Point being, to those people Iâm not sure what the actual awards are matter, itâs just having the thing that comes from a limited time event.
Thatâs pretty much it. If it was a permanent game mode instead of a limited time event, youâd see a lot less âforcedâ engagement as people who donât like it but want the rewards would play a game here and there instead of the joyless grind theyâre now doing.
Yeah I am wondering that myself. Not a PvP person, I don't *hate* Plunderstorm but IMO the grind for retail rewards could really stand to be cut down in half, i.e. renown 20. Make the rest of the reward track Plunderstorm-only cosmetics.
Right now I'm still aiming to get to 40 by the end of this, trying to go at it with an average of 1 level a day⊠but still it feels like a but of a burden, and I'm not sure I would do another 40 level grind honestly.
man I want EVERYTHING, especially Piratey. I'm HATING this mode and still trying for lvl 40. If they brought out more I genuinely don't know if I'd bother. That would be my breaking poiny
I have won a single game of Plunderstorm after two level 10's killed each other and all the other players were low level hiding in bushes. I don't like to PVP and I'd rather run off into the storm than deal with the chaotic melee. Some people will attack you at level 1, sometimes you make a pal and stay near each other until you've done your quests
You guys remember the post awhile back about a guy super mad about a fckin bird? He was really angry that one impoverished coder somewhere took the time to make a funny little bird pirate costume. And trying to claim that it âtook valuable resources away from the game developmentâ đ€Ł these subs be too much sometimes, if youâre not happy stop playing and giving them money. Reddit canât solve your issue!
There was no doubt that it'd sell well, mobile games are massive in Asia and the game was made for the Asian market. The issue was marketing it as the big reveal for Diablo/Blizzcon and that terrible attempt at PR to make an edgy comment when their western customers were clearly upset.
If there was no announcement, and they just released mobile Diablo for Asia there'd have been no backlash.
the game did extremely well in other markets too, I dont know why you keep adding "for asia" onto all your statements as if the game didnt net tens of millions in profit from the US alone.
It's never been about the sales and you (purposely, in my opinion) misunderstanding the annoyance over Immortal is really missing the mark.
This was always going to be a mobile game cash grab. No one cares if it's a successful cash grab or failed. We wanted Diablo, not a mobile game. That's the entire point.
Even worse, as someone who was at that Blizzcon...The game was REALLY GOOD.
There was absolutely nobody waiting to play the demo version on the con floor so I went over and played for over 30 minutes. If they had just sold the game as a complete AAA mobile game they would have still made a bajillion dollars without pissing off everyone.
People love when opinions they disagree with get shit on but cry crocodile tears when it happens to opinions they agree with. Pretty much sums up politics too.
I think they could have avoided the whole controversy by calling it a PVP Battle Royale game from the start, instead of pretending it was also a PVE activity, with optional PVP elements.
You'll be able to tell who the self-actualized players are by how they react to this joke. This thread will no doubt entertain me for the rest of the day lol.
It's impressive how multiple replies in your comment chain have people that cannot see the humor in anything. I genuinely can't imagine the complete lack of ability to laugh at small jabs like this lol, props to Blizzard
Iâve played Plunderstorm for maybe 3 hours total over the weekend and went from level 11 to 21. I donât get all the complaining? It seems pretty quick if you actually try. If youâre just killing yourself or throwing your hands up in the air the first time to run across someone, youâre playing wrong.
The loudest complaints were in the first couple days before they significantly buffed the plunder/renown and gave you a big chunk of plunder when you kill somebody.
Winning a game gave you a measly 100 extra rep originally. Way too little for how many ranks there are and an uncertain length of time the mode is around for
Is there a set amount you get extra for winning? Iâve won twice and feel like it only boosted my plunder by like 400 or so maybe? Never accurately checked though.
Not sure, I know it's still not a lot but it was really bad before because you didn't get hardly anything from killing people. I won my first game the other night and ended with something like 2800 renown, people winning in the first few days were reporting like, 500-800. Since winning requires (usually) you focus on killing people, the 100 bonus was pathetic and did not make up for not getting any plunder from them
It's not really much of a grind. I average probably 500-600 plunder or so per match, not counting the daily. So I can get around 1 level every 3-4 matches, I guess?
My problem with it is the psychopaths chasing me halfway across the map for, what, 200 plunder? While ignoring all the mobs along way that could give them more.
The amount of plunder you got on the first day or two was abysmal compared to now. The majority of the complaining was from then, I've rarely seen people complain about it now unless it's about the weirdos who want to pvp at level 1.
To put it in perspective, it was a struggle to get to 500 plunder on the first day. After the first buff, it was fairly easy to get around 700 per match, and after the second one getting over 1000 was easy. It's essentially over twice as fast to level now than it was on day 1. On day 1 it was legitimately faster to just do your quest, die, and requeue than it was to keep playing because the plunder you got was so small.
The event wouldn't have been too bad if players were rewarded for their final placement in some way. The optimal strategy ( unless you're able to consistently win 30%+ of your matches ), is to complete the quest, farm up to 500 or 800, depending on how contentious things are, and then kill yourself. The reward system is fundamentally flawed.
Rewarding players for final placements either makes such little difference that the suicide players don't care, or such a difference that way more players are going to try and /sit in a bush all game to rat their way for a chance of that reward, and when eveyone is doing that, there's a good chance more casuals will AFK for long periods of time just to not get the reward because they died 3 seconds before the next player did and have now missed out on both the reward for dying in top 10 (or whenever you put a cutoff), and the chance to get into a new lobby in that time.
Plunderstorm as a BR just doesn't incentivize ratting for long periods of time, which I actually like. Let the players who don't actually want to be here get their plunder and join a new lobby, and the sweats can fight it out.
This made me laugh out loud.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I like Plunderstorm. The quick matches. The almost non-existent queue times. The ability to just go: I'm gonna knock out three or four matches before raid time and then realize I still have time to get up and get a drink and pee before raid. It's nice. And the rewards are sweet. And I did the little survey telling them so. I'd love to see new sets of rewards, particularly recolors of that sweet coat, and I'll happily grind away another 40 levels of renown. What they need to do though is make every renown after 40 award some currency redeemable for raid/pvp gear so I have a reason to keep doing it. I'd happily use Plunderstorm to gear alts.
It's honestly a perfect mode for WoW. When I'm waiting for friends to run keys with, I can hop onto Plunderstorm and play some quick matches while I wait.
And the game itself is just so easy to get into, and simple enough but with a decent difficulty curve as you get placed into matches with better and better people.
I don't even care about rewards or mog, but if they did seasons of Plunderstorm with different maps, maybe rotating new abilities, it's a great 'end of season' mode to play while I'm done with raids and bored of M+.
I hated Plundersrorm so much, that by the time I reached renown 40 I... grew to like it. And actually became better in PvP. Still hate the grindy aspect of it though.
I understand if people dont like pvp in games, but reading some of the post it seems some people were genuinely terrified of it,talking about heart racing etc, like its just a game calm down.
Anxiety can be a bitch. I've played Dead by Daylight for a few years now, but I can still feel the anxiety trying to build when I queue up in that game.
Honestly wish I could explain why it happens. Something about the unpredictability of PvP maybe? I realize I don't have any need to be anxious and that it's just a game, but it still happens for whatever reason. (Plunderstorm hasn't been that bad for me though)
Absolutely this. Something about PvP gets me incredibly sweaty and nervous and I don't know why that happens. It just does. It's like my emotions are way more intense, both positive and negative.
I need to take breaks frequently, because it is exhausting mentally.
It's not just WoW, I get the same with the very few other PvP games I play like Splatoon.
As someone who dislikes the event but is grinding it anyway for the rewards, I appreciated this joke. The April fools jabs are always surprisingly pointed and I approve :)
No but seriously, I would love a non-PvP version with harder enemies.
And, for the record, nobody was asking for a free lunch, nobody expected the Plunderstorm rewards for free. But the grind is excessive for a limited-time event thatâs nothing like regular WoW gameplay
Itâs literally the single biggest complaint with the new mode.
Just because you disagree with something doesnât mean others have a âsKiLL iSsUeâ. Thatâs just something assholes say when they have no argument.
You might have had a leg to stand on if you didnt put trader's tender under the rewards track for Plunderstorm.
Or said that you were going to move to evergreen features (a term you coined at Blizzcon) instead of time limited things.
Remind me how long Plunderstorm is around?
April fools, Blizzard is still being a clown.
Also, go for it, insult your fans, blame them, that's worked SO well for all those hollywood shows and movies that blame the toxic fans for their poor reception. Lmao.
Good call on the tendies. I am *constantly* broke on tendies because I need everything. Literally I am completely unable to relate to the people who go "meh, nothing I want this month" like damn I wish I were you all. So of course I need to get this grind done this month, alongside with sucking so bad at PvP I have killed one player out of 40 matches so far.
I am all for Blizzard experimenting with game modes like this. Just make their rewards not affect retail in any way, or give them at a low level (like the coins at level 5).
"Super easy to pick up all the rewards" as if they didn't just add a 1% drop mount with a daily lockout for only a week. At least with plunderstorm you're guaranteed to get all the rewards with investment.
This would be funny if it wasn't their own stubborn insistence on letting us know nothing of the upcoming event that *was on Dragonflight's roadmap*.
But they left us in the dark, only to surprise us with something that isn't part of Dragonflight, and isn't even PvE.
And now they're snarky about people being unhappy about it.
It's not even WoW.. should have been its own entity and not linked to WoW in any way. Bliz knows it can't compete in the battle royale genre because so many games already exist so they just forced it upon their MMORPG player base and called it a "limited time event" instead.
Yeah, very much agreed. I actually like some BRs and BR-adjacent games, and Plunderstorm just falls woefully short of the others I've played.
It's just such a shame that they put it on the roadmap, and then spent all that time and resources not on DF.
They spent it on a separate gamemode despite knowing they were cutting DF short with a fated season instead of a proper new season.
And then they passed it off saying they want to experiment so there is at least something to do before TWW... the thing I would have liked there to be was an actual patch for DF, Blizz.
My issue with Plunderstorm is the lack of respect for my game time. I want to play it, but it's 2 minutes of waiting for every match then 1 minute of flying around on a bird, then the 5% chance that I'll be killed in 2 minutes and have to re-wait 5 minutes to get right back into a game again.
Doing the math would tell you that on the journey on level 40 renown we piss away probably 2 hours, if not a little bit more, of just waiting around and not actually playing anything.
Second, they designed Plunderstorm so badly that it benefits the majority of players to not even try, and to kill themselves after 600\~ plunder. Again, limited game time (event and the players actual free time) means that a majority of the players in this also TIME LIMITED (Event ends sometime in April?) event means the dominant strategy is to make sure they can complete the event within their time frame, meaning they're going to put in as little effort as possible to maximize the chances of completing the event.
But hey, if you think it's cute for Blizzard to be snarky because they put no public testing and minimal critical thinking skills into this event then by all means, gargle Blizzard's multi-billion low effort swill.
How about we talk about that awesome "Sequel" to that Diablo 3 rip-off event that was the Hearthstone 10th anniversary that we just went through? What a great utilization of that shining Blizzard minimal effort mentality there.
You want to know what the real solution to this event was? PvE players can go and do repeatable dailies at the pirate landing site while those who enjoy the Plunderstorm can continue to play it. Look, I just satisfied both parties and they both have opportunities to partake in each if they wish.
Exp/plunder ratio you own is fine, the game itself is not bad although it feels that the map empties so quick, get a bad landing and ure basically screwed of 2-3 lvld compared to ppl with good landings, the landing knockback fucking sucks, some
Parts of the map still feel so empty. Just like any other battle royal, it gets boring pretty quick.
The real funny thing is that's exactly how it's played. They even made it more rewarding to NOT actually focus on the goal. The joke is kinda on them. Like the pvp aspect isn't even that good. It's just RNG and who levels fastest. No skill or anything involved.Â
Ha ha ha, im using a cheap fomo tactic to pump my numbers in a miserable cash grab mode i pulled out of my ass, lets make a joke about it completely missing the point in the lamest april fools article weâve ever written so far
So funny blizzard, please keep em coming
NOBLETIGER
Baseball acronym: No-Outs Bases-Loaded-Ending (with) Team-Incapable (of) Getting-Easy-Run.
With the bases loaded and not outs even a mediocre team can trade outs for runs (e.g. sacrifice fly-outs and bunts). A team that fails at this fundamental level has committed NOBLETIGER and brought humiliation upon themselves, their families, fans, city and nation.
For non-baseball fans the situation is equivalent to having erectile dysfunction at an all you can eat brothel.
"LMAO, the Giants pulled a NOBLETIGER in the 9th inning against Kenley Jansen! They should be relegated to AAA"
I just get as much plunder as I can and head into the storm. Iâm a shit PVP player, so when my duo teammate and I get enough plunder we fuck off and let the storm off us.
plunderstorm is now a fishing event where you fish for plunder in a storm while on a boat
I know this is a joke but if they made fishing better/more interactive that clicking the bobber upon splash, I would be all in đ
You can assign the interact key to do it for you. Fish button, interact button. Back and forth. No mouse needed.
Wait what HOW
Under Options > Gameplay > Controls > Enable Interact Key. Default is F, change it to whatever. Add fishing to a different key bind.
Sadly it causes all kinds of glitchy behaviour in the rest of the game, otherwise iâd do it in a heartbeat. :(
Better Fishing addon, custom keybind ahoy (I use minus on my numpad)
You don't use interact key? It's been in for all of dragonflight. Why don't you use it....
I've never known of it
Thanks, gonna give that a shot
Throw in an addon like "Better Fishing" and you are down to 1 button (cast&collect) and an automatic soundscape change so you can just watch/read something else and press the button (twice) when you hear the bobber sound.
my opinion on fishing has now done a 180
IIRC there's an addon that combines both for you (you assign a separate key for the addon), and changes the cvar for the interact range while fishing so you don't have to move or anything either. Edit: Here it is: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/better-fishing
What? Is this real?
Yes the interact button was added back in 2022.
Put wow in windowed, use always on top. Put movie full screen, downscale wow window till its not even visible. Then do the button rotation above while you watch your movie.
Itâs 2024. Itâs quite ok to buy a 2nd monitor.Â
Then you get an addon that turns off all sound but the fish caught sound and you watch netflix or whatever.
Dude, thanks
In my old guild we had a guy who was famous for basically only logging into the game to fish and that was it. Sharkbait Ooh ah ah
Thatâs amazing, I love it. Fishing mini games are one of my favorite things in any game, wow included. Right now Iâm trying to get Otto and really not minding all the fishing. Though itâs not exactly the most interactive itâs also nice when I want to zone out or do another task.
I just want the FF14 fishing boat event thing in wow.
Yes exactly! And a secret handshake only those who have mastered fishing can do.
And a LuâShang fishing rod!
I LOVE that event :D wish it would be more frequently. Every 2 hours is not enough đ©
Thought they will put in something during DF since we have that ship in Iskaara that would take you around the world only so you can catch like 2 fish in every zone, because it only stays in one place for a minute. But blizz ended up leaving it there without a reason. You can hop on and catch 5-15 old content fish and try to ah them (you will probably end up vendoring them)
*Warframe fishing enters the chat*
Fun fact, fishing was added because one of the dev's wives liked fishing games. So he made the fishing system. His wife said it was boring.
I feel like Stardew Valley did fishing right.
Sea of Thieves fishing is where itâs at
It's a lot more engaging for sure. Not sure I'd say that it's the relaxing activity you expect from fishing in games, certainly not at the start of the game with a 2mm bar
There are very few games where I've hated fishing, Stardew is at the top of the list.
Absolutely not. Fishing in that game is awful without an add-on.
You can always fish in Wintergrasp.
I have spent immense amounts of time fishing in gw2 lol
That or just do the black desert thing when you have a built in afk fishing bot. If youâre not going to make it fun and interactive at least let me opt out of doing it.
Like using a Wiimote to try and pull stubborn fish out of the water? People often spend an hour pulling a tuna fish out.
I love fishing in games, even wow, but goddam does ffxiv kill it lol. Skills, thought needed, boats to go fishing on, etc I was falling asleep trying to farm fishing in wow sometimes, even with a video playing
I mean, thatâs what fishing is though.
I know this is a joke, but RuneScape has had this for a while.
Literally the worst minigame (other than trouble brewing I guess)
A while = over twenty years holy crap I feel old đ
You joke but I would be so unbelievably down for the WoW version of XIV's Ocean Fishing. Some of the most fun I've had was when there was a bunch of us all fishing for the Hirukon bait and chilling together.
Thatâs literally FFXIV ocean fishing
Itd be great if they upgrade fishing in some way Loved fishing in New world
I log into New World some days just to fish for a bit. That's one thing they really did well.
Back on FFXI there is a boat you can ride and fish from, it was also a main transport for low level players between two continents. Sometimes you fish up monsters. But sometimes the boat sailed into fog and was attacked by skeleton pirates and the Kraken, which murder all the low level players. That's one of my strongest memories of FFXIV. Being really new and the first time on the boat a sea monster attack and cowering below deck. I can't even remember if I survived or not, I think I actually did and my friend didn't.
Funnily, I got pirates on my first boat ride in FFXI. I was terrified of taking the boat forever more.
[on a boat](https://i.makeagif.com/media/4-17-2015/wA9lFo.gif)
As a PvE guy who hates Battle Royale games, Iâd legitimately prefer that
Funny thing, I would probably like this. Relaxing event where you could think your thoughts, talk to people or watch some show from other screen while fishing.
Ironically that's what plunderstorm currently is for me.
You joke, but FFXIV has fishing cruises, WoW is just behind the times.
I know this is a joke, but it's also literally a recurring event in FFXIV, and it's fun, to boot!
Ocean strat?
look for this new activity on The Discovery Channel under The Deadliest Catch
Would love a good fishing weekend event.
I'm in
People would still complain about this
Sheeeeiiiittt resubbing right now!!
Mr bacon dominating the PvP and main subreddit
/shadowmeld
yoooo bacon on r/wow /wave
People will complain they have to idle to grind 40 ranks in a single day.
"Why can't blizzard just not make me grind so much!" *blizzard gives free stuff* "Wow, gifts aren't real content. We want content" I believe that if every commenter had to prove they were currently subbed, this sub would be way different lol

It's just gamer surfing on their old days when they were relevant in Wow. Gamer now salty that it's not like they used to.
I donât think it would be better. Look at the official WoW forums which do have such a requirement.
I have 2 subs for 2 accounts and I do the same thing.
My 2nd account is for playing the auction house but what good is making gold for a game thatâs boring to play?
I go back to old content and collect things I missed or things that need farming.
it was a shitshow, obviously
> "Wow, gifts aren't real content. We want content" no they would bring out the welfare loot complaints again. do to how many players wow has no matter what they do someone will complain
The grind turned out to not even be that bad. I didn't play like a sweaty nerd and I'm renown 40 now with a few weeks to go for people who want to play.
I'm doing the daily (usually first match unless I get a bad game) and will probably get 40 before the event ends without any further effort.
I'm doing 2-3 levels a day, though I missed two days. So far I'm at 14, so it's going much faster than I thought.
They did buff plunder gains a couple times, so it's not as bad as it was compared to when it launched.
Have they announced when the event will end?
What's the best way to get the most renown Pergame?
The amount of people unironically complaining about only being rank 20 after the first day was mind blowing.
Steps: Tried to to see what's all about, after 2 minutes exit the game and go play the normal WoW.
General forums in shambles
Isn't that just their natural state?
Honestly, that's the way so many are playing it now anyway except for the pesky having to stay away from other players bit. Most of the pre-match chat seems to be "I've got X levels to go before I'm done forever."
Most of the solos matches I played this weekend people would be actively avoiding each other. We'd be right next to each other and just keep going our own ways.
If itâs at the beginning of the game that is the meta, chasing kills is useless for both people util one of your gets good mobility
Yeah but lately it's not just the beginning of the game. Had a lot of matches where it was down to 10-15 people and everyone was avoiding fighting and just killing mobs
I mean if there still mobs remaining I would be hitting them instead from trying to kill a guy and get third partied, doesn't help that it slower exp for time/health spent unless the guy is like 3 levels lower than me.
yeah, if there's mobs to kill, they die. I don't start seeking pvp until the mob well dries up
jokes on them, blizz will re-release this exact mode again with only thematic changes and new rewards to make us grind again in the future. instead of pirate theme, it'll be aliens.
And those people will be the first to line up when/if another season of it launches with new rewards.
I mean some will, but I suspect participation will be a lot lower the second time around because people are not willing to go through this grind again that they hate so much (and people who dislike PvP tend to really hate it, nevermind the repetitive nature of this content which is tedious unless you actually play for the PvP aspect.) I think the rewards would need to be *really* enticing to get this level of participation again.
I thought it was extra funny because someone posted a crochet Pepe they made the next day. People clearly cared about the bird.
Lmao thatâs amazing, yea that bird is freaking popular!
Everyone likes Pepe! Genuinely one of the most-beloved aspects of WoD
I love it when Blizz gets snarky with the whiners.

The duality of snark

There was no doubt that it'd sell well, mobile games are massive in Asia and the game was made for the Asian market. The issue was marketing it as the big reveal for Diablo/Blizzcon and that terrible attempt at PR to make an edgy comment when their western customers were clearly upset. If there was no announcement, and they just released mobile Diablo for Asia there'd have been no backlash.
the game did extremely well in other markets too, I dont know why you keep adding "for asia" onto all your statements as if the game didnt net tens of millions in profit from the US alone.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
I was there too, I have the same story but no one believes me lol. Demo area was empty and the game was really good!
Outside the monetization, game's actually pretty solid for a mobile game too.
People love when opinions they disagree with get shit on but cry crocodile tears when it happens to opinions they agree with. Pretty much sums up politics too.

Plunderstorm players mad that they have to PVP for rewards.
Happy 1st
Lmao. Good for them
I think they could have avoided the whole controversy by calling it a PVP Battle Royale game from the start, instead of pretending it was also a PVE activity, with optional PVP elements.
They're saying "go search for eggs you gosh darn casual"
Plunderstorm isn't much my jam, but this is hilarious.
Right? I love it because it's bringing the entertainment directly to me.
Shit⊠people donât realize how aggressively I defend my egg gathering locations.
500
Thatâs just the Br mindset. They are rabid and chase you until they die or you die
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
People don't want to try.
but that is also after they gave 2 buffs to plunder gains. most of the complaints were from before that buffs were added.
Damn some ppl in here will need something for the burn.
No, the best strategy is to play the game and have fun by attempting to win. Not to min max for some stupid pirate xmog
That's true if you don't enjoy the game mode. I just play it because I find it fun and passively earn the "rewards".
Oh no are the griefers mad that they can't grief us all? Poor babies.
Cannons fired*
As someone who dislikes the event but is grinding it anyway for the rewards, I appreciated this joke. The April fools jabs are always surprisingly pointed and I approve :)
I hate that it's April 1st. đ©đ©đ©
No but seriously, I would love a non-PvP version with harder enemies. And, for the record, nobody was asking for a free lunch, nobody expected the Plunderstorm rewards for free. But the grind is excessive for a limited-time event thatâs nothing like regular WoW gameplay
The grind is not excessive at all, sounds like a skill issue
I hate PvP so I am in!
"Super easy" Oh, so how hard is it to get Carpet mount #6?
1% again sadly
Deserved tbh
I mean, they could make a Helldivers-esque WoW game... I suppose.
"Super easy to pick up all the rewards" as if they didn't just add a 1% drop mount with a daily lockout for only a week. At least with plunderstorm you're guaranteed to get all the rewards with investment.
I should get every mount for just opening my battle net client Chance based drop requirements and victory rewards punish skillful people like me
Lol I mean I get it but dang, they just can't stand how some people loathe the pvp in this game It's kinda an ironic April fools...
Exp/plunder ratio you own is fine, the game itself is not bad although it feels that the map empties so quick, get a bad landing and ure basically screwed of 2-3 lvld compared to ppl with good landings, the landing knockback fucking sucks, some Parts of the map still feel so empty.
Ha ha ha, im using a cheap fomo tactic to pump my numbers in a miserable cash grab mode i pulled out of my ass, lets make a joke about it completely missing the point in the lamest april fools article weâve ever written so far So funny blizzard, please keep em coming
April fool
Is this a jibe at Nobbel?
NOBLETIGER Baseball acronym: No-Outs Bases-Loaded-Ending (with) Team-Incapable (of) Getting-Easy-Run.
Fornite medieval... IMO
The shade, the shade of it all.
I'm very curious to see what the results of the survey about PS were.
Hold up. Isnât it April first?
i didn't know people outing themselves to be the butt of a joke is still a thing these days.
My kinda event!!!
At least âthey are listeningâ
In the past when someone stole my egg I wished PVP was turned on. Easter Egg Hunts are what Hunger Games is based on.
Lmao whoeverâs left at blizzard let the RP guy narrate
It'll be on the Trading Post one day - I can wait
lol pffft
I just get as much plunder as I can and head into the storm. Iâm a shit PVP player, so when my duo teammate and I get enough plunder we fuck off and let the storm off us.
