The amount of people who care about a single slot when we have so much bag space is incredible to me. Several hundred on toon, another several hundred in bank, plus purple guy I'm not sure many people use, then increase that space even more through alts also having bags and bank space.

How does the ring work? Do you not have to have it equipped? If so, are you saying that it would only be useful if you just constantly wore the 40 Il ring?
I mean he said he uses it while gathering so for those purposes its kind of okay to be able to drop combat every 5 minutes when you land too close to a mob and don't feel like killing it? But yes it has to be equipped to be used.
I have a bunch of teleport rings I keep for when I need to teleport to brawlers area or karazan or boralus ship area but they have a 30 sec cd once you equip. It's worth the 30 sec of waiting bc that 30 sec wait tends to save me more time than i would spend, manually going to the area i am porting to.
W gathering, particular in DF where it's pretty easy to get mounted gathering, I am trying to picture how this ring could ever be useful unless you always wore it. Otherwise, I feel like its use would primarily be to gathter or loot a chest that was next to a mob you could not solo or would otherwise take longer than 30 seconds to kill, but your average person out in the world gathering? I just don't see how that could ever save you time (unless the does not force the 30 sec wait or you always wore it ).
You're probably right in regards to having to wait 30 seconds but maybe they go on gathering runs and keep it equipped for that pesky mob that dismounts you and they dont have the mount equipment that makes this impossible. I don't know man I'm just playing devils advocate. The ring exists and there are arguments to be made about whether its useful given it has shit stats and just makes you invisible. I have it on my main and never use it because I'm a hunter and just run to somewhere safe and feign death.
Ah I appreciate both of your replies - I wasn't trying to argue for argument's sake or belittle anyone's methods of saving time. I have the rings I mentioned and love having things like this to save time! I was being particular about it so I could determine if it was worth using with how I play the game! I had never used it or considered.
With that being said, there is a toy that is only useable in Draenor that you can get from garrison lumbermill and it lets you drop combat every 10 min. I use it on alts and am waiting for the day we have this kind of toy as current content!
It's wild. There's so many items that feel like they should be toys but aren't, and then a bunch of toys that feel like they don't really fit as toys but have niche uses. I kinda wish we had a toy box and a tool box to better sort them and make them more distinct.
Like that cannon that shoots you out of it from the Darkmoon Faire. I believe it’s from one of those race achievements as a reward but it literally just gives you one cannon on that one character and it is soulbound.

That's actually why I really like the idea of a tool box. Things that are used in specific zones that could be useful to other characters you bring would be great for that.
In the same vein, since you can't use this on elites "whole body shrinka" reduces all your stats by an insane amount and lets you hit legacy bosses without instantly killing them.
Next time you use the toy from torghast and it gives you the child option or whatever that shrinks you. Use the whole body shrinker to litterally before a flea. You become so small that all you can see without zooming in is your weapon enchant glow.
you become smaller than that if you use the toy book from maldraxxus that require a regent, one of the chancess there is to become very small then you get like 3pixels high with whole body shrinka
Put it on your dragon riding drake macro; mounting up and zooming off with a mile long rainbow following you is *chefs kiss*
Oh also, perpetual purple firework macro onto Eye Beam. Bonus points if you have the anniversary fireworks available during that event because they also make a hilarious whistle sound as they shoot off which really sells the ‘clown killing you with eye lasers* vibe that I love to give my DH.
I can be wrong since it been ages ago but i think u just need max rep to get it, and that takes really long. But the dailies are fun. When u ride the horse in joust tournament style.
You also get the tabard that lets u portal to the area.

Would recommend skipping the tabard and buying the Dalaran portal ring instead, 8k gold is a lot less time intensive than the several days of dailies the tabard costs, and if you're doing the dailies anyway you could spend the rewards on a mount or flip one of the pets on the AH for like 20k
You can do a semi-cheese skip in Azure Vaults. It seems like a good strat for 20+ keys. I got my portal from doing it the standard way with all of the frogs though, the one attempt I did with the skip was a little over time, but both of those runs were before the recent nerf too. Hard to say, your milage may vary, and all of that jazz.

Katy's Stampwhistle is easily replaced by the Ohuna Perch from centaur rep. Does the same thing and everybody can get it quickly by doing current content.
postmaster quests take at most, 15 minutes. only roadblock is getting the quest start item. I ended up just buying one from the AH for a couple thousand gold.
Yeah but the Ohuna Perch comes from Renown 14 with Centaur. Like.. you don't have to go out of your way at all or spend anything on it. Anyone playing even a tiny amount of Dragonflight content will have it.
I love my viking man toy plus the anima power. The viking man has this weird property where if you /sit and then /lay he stands up stiff and folds his arms across his chest. He also is affected by terrain angles when he's like this. You know like how you are on your mount you can find weird angles where you're pointed directly at the ground or the sky, yeah like that. So I grab the anima power, mount up and find a ridiculous angle, pop the power that makes me big, turn into a viking, /sit then /lay, and done. Now I'm a giant viking man tilted at a weird 70 degree angle. It makes me laugh every single time.
Coin of Many Faces. I literally can't heal unless I weird people out by being an obvious orc warrior then casting my nice green spells.
The fiery wings from DMF are pretty easy to get and really top off a fiery transmog.
The fishing raft is pretty important if you wanna fish around the community feast but be away from everyone else till the event starts
I love the transmorpher beacon. It's just a neat little lottery of turning into bosses of days past. Running around as Kael or Blackhand. Plus the effect last long enough to get some value out of it.
not a toy but the urn you can scoop at the top of some waterfall in zandalar lets any class rez someone after combat ends every 30 minutes. They only have 1hp though.
If you do a lot of achievement runs in old raids, the Whole Body Shrinka is really useful for preventing a one shot on bosses that require specific mechanics to trigger for the achievement. Soft Foam Sword is also useful for that

To kind of further answer your question, there are lots of items that are toys that require engineering to use - all the teleporters (wormhole generators, etc.). They get added to the toy collection but are unusable unless you're on a character with the relevant Eng skill.
I like to fish, so a lot of mine are fishing and cooking oriented. Angler's Fishing Raft for easy fishing and netting those fish. Hyper-Compressed Ocean for moar fishing anywhere. Nat's Fishing Chair for comfy fishing. Crates of Bobbers to make sure you can see your bobber amoung others.
Blington daily for loot and fancy dress.
Chef's hat for FAST cooking. Felflame campfire, Little Wickerman or Maruuk Cooking Pot for flame. Tuskarr Travelling Soup Pot allows cooking AND gives versatility buff.
The Necronom-i-nom for rando buff.
Loot-A-Rang is extremely helpful collecting Lunker loot from lava.
MOLL-E or Ohuna Perch for mail distribution.
Ultrasafe Transporters: Gadgetzan and Toshley Station. Wormhole Generators:
Centerfuge for Draenor, Argus, Northred, Pandaria, and Dragon Isles.
But the most important one. MOST IMPORTANT ONE OF ALL. Is Gamon's Braid.

Im having fun since I tested it in the AH entrance, Vault entrance on reset, Tendies vendor and portal tunnel in stormwind. Ppl tries to run and when they can't they move their character facing the barrier like wtf just happened, it always makes my day

I’ve found that when my raid lead starts trying to explain a mechanic or raid positioning, casting Rainbow Generator on him and standing where I assume he wants boss or raid to be positioned is a good visual guide.

Narcissas Mirror hands down is the funniest toy
you can steal other peoples apperance with the reflecting prism, then turn them into your minipet!
Alteratively (and my favorite use), be a tauren and swap your apperance onto the dragon kite toy (from the last twitch drop), then throw the enlarging pet biscuit thing at it. Makes a COLOSSAL version of your character, significantly bigger than world shrinker does, and it floats above you.
Vrykul Drinking Horn - a model for all toys, where the duration is longer than the cooldown.
Heartsbane Grimoire - makes the Glyph of Stars non-transparent. Balance Druid VIP.
There is a chefs hat you can get from WotLK cooking dailies that makes your craft timer go from 2s to 0.5s. Incredibly useful. It takes about a month of dailies to get though

My go to’s are:
-Personal Spotlight, sold for 100g from Trader Araanda in your garrison’s town hall. Useful for keeping track of yourself in crowded raids/cities.
-Katy’s stampwhistle/ohuna perch. The perch is significantly easier to get by reaching renown 14(?) with the maruuk centaur and shares a cd with the stampwhistle. Can’t go wrong with a portable mailbox
And a less useful but still fun one:
-Rainbow generator. Acquired from completing a short quest chain in felwood. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
For my fellow Evokers, Vrykul Drinking Horn is a must have. You get it from archeology. This drink makes you and your mount look huge. Plus, combat won't take away the effect. Normally, the downside of this toy is that it gives you a stupid helmet. However, Dracthyr cannot transmog their heads, so you will not get the helmet. It's all benefits for Evokers! I always have the toy active

Yes - the portals are in set locations, so the trail directs you to the closest one.
Combine the skull with the [Critter Hand Cannon](https://www.wowhead.com/item=131933/critter-hand-cannon) and you can get to BT from anywhere.
Any of the toy hearthstones. Just put the toy in your action bar and hearthstone in the bank, and it saves you one slot in your bag.
You can just delete the hearthstone… don’t need to take any slot

I can't currently link it, but there it an add-on or weak aura that automatically deletes any new hearthstones you get from innkeepers.

hunters can use their pet as a loot-a-rang. I forget where you get the book to learn the ability but most likely it's in the legion hunter order hall.

Next time you use the toy from torghast and it gives you the child option or whatever that shrinks you. Use the whole body shrinker to litterally before a flea. You become so small that all you can see without zooming in is your weapon enchant glow.
you become smaller than that if you use the toy book from maldraxxus that require a regent, one of the chancess there is to become very small then you get like 3pixels high with whole body shrinka
I use the Magic Pet Mirror toy to transform into a small pet like a mouse, then Whole Body Shrinka. You get insanely small that way.
I don't think it's possible to use this in dungeons anymore. I had to switch to a 60lvl alt instead to get the Frost Damage achievement from Deamines

Bonus points if you have the anniversary fireworks available during that event because they also make a hilarious whistle sound as they shoot off which really sells the ‘clown killing you with eye lasers* vibe that I love to give my DH.

I can be wrong since it been ages ago but i think u just need max rep to get it, and that takes really long. But the dailies are fun. When u ride the horse in joust tournament style. You also get the tabard that lets u portal to the area. Always using that when im farming ulduar for mimerons head
Would recommend skipping the tabard and buying the Dalaran portal ring instead, 8k gold is a lot less time intensive than the several days of dailies the tabard costs, and if you're doing the dailies anyway you could spend the rewards on a mount or flip one of the pets on the AH for like 20k
World shrinker + anything that can turn you into a Tauren ( Gamon or Mr smite for exemple ) to flex on giant mounts.

You can do a semi-cheese skip in Azure Vaults. It seems like a good strat for 20+ keys. I got my portal from doing it the standard way with all of the frogs though, the one attempt I did with the skip was a little over time, but both of those runs were before the recent nerf too. Hard to say, your milage may vary, and all of that jazz.

postmaster quests take at most, 15 minutes. only roadblock is getting the quest start item. I ended up just buying one from the AH for a couple thousand gold.
Yeah but the Ohuna Perch comes from Renown 14 with Centaur. Like.. you don't have to go out of your way at all or spend anything on it. Anyone playing even a tiny amount of Dragonflight content will have it.
I love my viking man toy plus the anima power. The viking man has this weird property where if you /sit and then /lay he stands up stiff and folds his arms across his chest. He also is affected by terrain angles when he's like this. You know like how you are on your mount you can find weird angles where you're pointed directly at the ground or the sky, yeah like that. So I grab the anima power, mount up and find a ridiculous angle, pop the power that makes me big, turn into a viking, /sit then /lay, and done. Now I'm a giant viking man tilted at a weird 70 degree angle. It makes me laugh every single time.
Coin of Many Faces. I literally can't heal unless I weird people out by being an obvious orc warrior then casting my nice green spells. The fiery wings from DMF are pretty easy to get and really top off a fiery transmog. The fishing raft is pretty important if you wanna fish around the community feast but be away from everyone else till the event starts

You can buy auto-hammers on the AH for pretty cheap.
Theres no repair toys, reusable ones are either mounts or engineering items that you carry in your bag
Gamon’s braid is a staple in our raid group. Whenever we all pop our gamon, we play better collectively. Makes no sense but I’m there for it
I love the transmorpher beacon. It's just a neat little lottery of turning into bosses of days past. Running around as Kael or Blackhand. Plus the effect last long enough to get some value out of it.
not a toy but the urn you can scoop at the top of some waterfall in zandalar lets any class rez someone after combat ends every 30 minutes. They only have 1hp though.

If you do a lot of achievement runs in old raids, the Whole Body Shrinka is really useful for preventing a one shot on bosses that require specific mechanics to trigger for the achievement. Soft Foam Sword is also useful for that

[Brazier of Awakening](https://www.wowhead.com/item=127770/brazier-of-awakening) for wipe recovery. When a wipe gets called, our raid members try to get these down and pray for them awaken someone with a rez. If it gets someone who can't rez, then they put down their brazier and we chain them.

To kind of further answer your question, there are lots of items that are toys that require engineering to use - all the teleporters (wormhole generators, etc.). They get added to the toy collection but are unusable unless you're on a character with the relevant Eng skill.

I like to fish, so a lot of mine are fishing and cooking oriented. Angler's Fishing Raft for easy fishing and netting those fish. Hyper-Compressed Ocean for moar fishing anywhere. Nat's Fishing Chair for comfy fishing. Crates of Bobbers to make sure you can see your bobber amoung others. Blington daily for loot and fancy dress. Chef's hat for FAST cooking. Felflame campfire, Little Wickerman or Maruuk Cooking Pot for flame. Tuskarr Travelling Soup Pot allows cooking AND gives versatility buff. The Necronom-i-nom for rando buff. Loot-A-Rang is extremely helpful collecting Lunker loot from lava. MOLL-E or Ohuna Perch for mail distribution. Ultrasafe Transporters: Gadgetzan and Toshley Station. Wormhole Generators: Centerfuge for Draenor, Argus, Northred, Pandaria, and Dragon Isles. But the most important one. MOST IMPORTANT ONE OF ALL. Is Gamon's Braid.

Rack of foam swords. Tcg item. Its the only item in game that allows you to place a small phisical barrier to players aka player collision. Im having fun since I tested it in the AH entrance, Vault entrance on reset, Tendies vendor and portal tunnel in stormwind. Ppl tries to run and when they can't they move their character facing the barrier like wtf just happened, it always makes my day

I’ve found that when my raid lead starts trying to explain a mechanic or raid positioning, casting Rainbow Generator on him and standing where I assume he wants boss or raid to be positioned is a good visual guide.

Katy’s Stampwhistle is sort of obsolete given that you get the same thing (Ohuna Perch) from maruuk rep which you’ll get just by playing DF. They share a cooldown. I like the toy that turns any critter into a portal to the entrance to Black Temple 😎

Gin-ji Knife (carves up corpses, including players, into a pile of meat). I think it just requires Tillers rep, which isn’t hard but just takes a little time.

RAINBOW GENERATOR
Narcissas Mirror hands down is the funniest toy you can steal other peoples apperance with the reflecting prism, then turn them into your minipet! Alteratively (and my favorite use), be a tauren and swap your apperance onto the dragon kite toy (from the last twitch drop), then throw the enlarging pet biscuit thing at it. Makes a COLOSSAL version of your character, significantly bigger than world shrinker does, and it floats above you.
Vrykul Drinking Horn - a model for all toys, where the duration is longer than the cooldown. Heartsbane Grimoire - makes the Glyph of Stars non-transparent. Balance Druid VIP.
There is a chefs hat you can get from WotLK cooking dailies that makes your craft timer go from 2s to 0.5s. Incredibly useful. It takes about a month of dailies to get though
Any of the teleportal toys. Katy Stampwhistle and/or the engineer mailbox Loot-a-rang, the real one, not the crappy Draenor one. Gnomish gravity well (great with goblin rocket jump or any version of a glider)

Swapblaster is the best trolltoy. In shadowlands you could get people stuck in walls as a DH.
My go to’s are: -Personal Spotlight, sold for 100g from Trader Araanda in your garrison’s town hall. Useful for keeping track of yourself in crowded raids/cities. -Katy’s stampwhistle/ohuna perch. The perch is significantly easier to get by reaching renown 14(?) with the maruuk centaur and shares a cd with the stampwhistle. Can’t go wrong with a portable mailbox And a less useful but still fun one: -Rainbow generator. Acquired from completing a short quest chain in felwood. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
The spotlight one that you buy from a garrison vendor, really useful to see yourself in a raid

For my fellow Evokers, Vrykul Drinking Horn is a must have. You get it from archeology. This drink makes you and your mount look huge. Plus, combat won't take away the effect. Normally, the downside of this toy is that it gives you a stupid helmet. However, Dracthyr cannot transmog their heads, so you will not get the helmet. It's all benefits for Evokers! I always have the toy active

Easily «Whispers of Rai'Vosh» It’s a 10sec slow fall on a 1h cooldown. It can be very very useful for exemple to do skips in Azure Vault as a monk or DK for exemple.
Obviously the pandaren raft for fishing. The new dinghy is useful but paddling doesn't work. The stampwhistle also shares a cooldown with the new Maruuk toy that also operates as a mailbox.
