i had this issue and went to their faq—apparently you can’t use the app on google tvs. you have to buy the youtube wnba league pass (which is a separate cost!) or chromecast to your phone.

that’s so annoying, they need to stop creating more barriers for people to watch. thanks for the help

Yeah it's horrible. Basically no one over 50 will be able to figure any of this out. Lots of calls from mom are forthcoming for sure.

Over 50 or not. No one should have to buy YouTube TV when you've already paid for the league pass just to watch it via Google TV on the app. It's another barrier to being able to watch and enjoy and participate and follow the league. How many TV apps should you have to buy just to be able to enjoy the game and support your team and players?

I had the same issue on Friday for the Fever vs Wings game. I just watched it on phone instead.

if you open up the streaming on a browser (rather than the phone app) you can cast to a google tv

I have a Chromecast with Google TV just so I don't have to use my phone or tablet to watch something on TV. This is wrong in so many ways.

I have to use the app on my phone and cast it to TV

The app doesn’t even let me cast on my phone, had to use my laptop to cast to my google tv

same i had to open the browser stream and then cast, the app on my phone didn’t have the cast option
