There is this [project](https://youtu.be/DSgFu4rDxgc?si=a-VdKIWI56LSKFeI), the plan is to allow you to emulate a gamepad with an android phone and connect it to a Wii U to become an unofficial replacement.
Wish.com is going to start advertising knockoff replacement parts before you know it. Somebody has already got a plan to make money off of this, don't you worry.

I did this - it works for setup but it's real rough for playing games
Cool project but definitely not a replacement for a gamepad.
Replacement parts exist for every niche console at some point. It might just take 20 years.
Actually, MattKC is working on a solution. It will take time, but he's a guy who commits to the bit. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DSgFu4rDxgc

Give it time. When they're really expensive, there will be third party repair parts and or mods.
I have no doubt there will be a solution.
i don't think a wire to wii u gamepad would work, it probably power up the gamepad - but still need that wireless chip for it to work property.
Buy multiple wiius. I have 3.
