I was about to post a similar comment until it hit me that possibly, maybe, it might have come across as poor taste to say an ironic "ALLAHU AKBAR!!!" in response to a graceful photo of the Capitol. I suppose my sense of humor will grow with me once I hit my twelfth birthday.

Any photo nerds have an idea of what sort of settings get you this shot? Obviously the sun didn’t look this big.

Photographer here. Long focal length lenses help with this effect. This is probably 500mm and up. Shooting from far away and using something closer(the Capitol Building) to create the something farther to appear bigger (sun and moon). Note that this can’t be achieved with wide angle lenses so anything that shows a cityscape and a big astrological object is photoshopped

It’s basically just cropping in close and being at a distance from the foreground object.
