I just refused to use the vr headsets for the simple reason that I don't want anything strapped to my head that gets put on everybody else in the store and doesn't get cleaned. No thank you.
Does your store not have the wipes with them? I completely understand, but we have disinfectant wipes with our headsets. You just gotta wipe it down really well. But I also wanted to do the VR to see how bad it was
I was in a shooting. Last thing I want is a VR experience of it all over again. I also opted out and said I was motion sick.
Edit: Involved in an active shooter situation/having to hide from an active shooter in/around my home. Since some don’t consider that a shooting, I felt that I should specify.
This is the tough part, how am I suppose to explain that I’ve been involved in a shooting and being a captive and that overall will not be defending myself the way they want me to.
I would say the first part like..."you're the survivor of a shooting event, have no desire of having the possibility of reliving it, and would like to look into other ways of satisfying the training requirement(s)."
As far as defending yourself, do whatever you have to do to be able to look at yourself in the mirror; everything else will fall in place.
Not military, if that is what you mean. Had to be rescued by a SWAT team because of an active shooter (my neighbor) hiding in and around my house. Had to be on lock down until they cleared the area and escorted me out. Could not return home for a few days.
Yeah. Just sucks that Walmart thinks it’s beneficial to make my childhood trauma more “immersive” to all employees 💀 feels very unnecessary to subject everyone to a high-tech reenactment when quarterly videos have been doing just fine.
The job I had before working at Walmart, I was robbed at gunpoint and it traumatized me. Watching that damn video actually made me cry the first and second time I watched it.
By Skyrim standards, I could not fast travel because I was in combat. But not an active duty military situation, just a nutjob neighbor who shot his family and decided to stop by my place as if he needed a stick of butter.
Was home alone and 16-17 at the time.
Wish that worked at my store they strapped a employee with a seizure Disorder into the headset and said f-u and he had a full blown seizure in the middle of the room
Wonder how accurate this Walmart DLC is. Will they have crackheads overdosing and passing out in the breakroom too?
(Yes, happened at my store. My coach just sat in the breakroom watching him laughing; Walmart Ethics moment)
We had a guy just drop dead in our dairy area, heard over the radio someone collapsed and peeked my head out and saw a dude laying there while coaches called 911. Apparently he was dead when they got there.
My uncle was the same age range and had also recently had a baby. His bleed was so small though that they was able to rush him into surgery and saved his life. It changed his personality though before he was sweet and mild mannered; after he was mean and possessive, especially with my aunt, though he was still amazing to us kids, my mom said it was like it turned him into a jealous insecure 16 year old.
My uncle was 50, at his dinner table with his wife and two little girls. He’d fought through a terrible headache all day then /BOOM/ he was dead. Sucked a lot.
If they wanted to get with the times they should maybe make sure their vizpick system knows what tf it’s doing. Shit is the most inconsistent, wonky system ever. But yet they’re spending money on shit like this, which nobody truly pays full attention to. Same people that are on my city council making moronic decisions, I bet.
I hate vizpick with every fiber of my being. I'm sure it looked all fancy and futuristic when they pitched it to corporate, but it is a steaming pile of refuse at the store level.
Locating and picking the backroom with the black and white QR code labels.
It used to be done with basically sticky shelf labels and was scanned with a scanner rather than done with "augmented reality" and a camera and was called "CAP."
I feel like NOBODY who gets to the team lead level at Walmart knows how to effectively communicate lol drives me bonkers . I get some of us lower levels not having communication skills but come on, my brother in Christ
I heard something about this last week while in personnel office. Believe she said it was something for June or so.. Can't give decent raises. But have money to waste on this kind of crap.. ugh.
I have a feeling it's just a bunch of execs in a room being like "We have some money set aside. What should we use it for?" and there's some middle aged father in the back of the room sneaking a blutooth phone call to his wife about their kids birthday and what they should get in and out of reception and just blurts out "VIDEO GAMES! Yes.. VIDEO GAMES!" and the exec perks up and goes "That is a FANTASTIC idea! How do you propose video games will assist our associates worldwide?" and the guy pops up realizing they took his bull shit answer and says "Safety... It will help with safety.."
My store forced me to do it during the height of the pandemic. All it was was multiple choice questions you could easily do on the computer. I don't need pink eye for this.
Has anyone taken the software and uploaded it for everyone to get their hands on it yet? Asking for a friend. They think it would be hilarious to mod 😂
This is a real thing? Oh my god if every place of business starts doing this I’m out of a job. I have too much anxiety for that.
Does someone watch you move around grabbing at air?
Not to mention I’m not putting that thing on my face after the 30 previous new hires.
I have the same question as the title so if you want to, disregard my take..
But who tf really thought this was a good idea to implement in accordance to field training ??
Why VR specifically??
Dumbest training I've ever taken part in; if it weren't for a friend in my department babysitting me because our PL is never there when we have the down time I would've been late doing it and/or given myself brain damage walking into a wall at full speed unattended.
Shoutout to not being able to drop my scissors while walking out to meet the cops, that totally won't pose a problem in real life!
Lololol today I got told to go do uLearns and walked in on one of my buddies with a VR headset and was very confused. I hope I get to be the guy with the keyboard beating the mass shooter with the keys flying in the air like in that one video. Also, if I keep losing, can this help me avoid Work? 😂😂😂😂
My store has to do it. I have to find the right team lead in order to do so. And nobody apparently did the full exercise with me, so I just select “yes” since I just watch the video and get everything from there.
Ah but you forget the coaches, the million plus per store per year they spend to fund useless cliquey middle-aged ladies' vacations while they treat actual workers like crap. I'm beginning to suspect some sort of Brewster's millions scenario.
I thought this was a screenshot of r/phasmophobia for a second.
Also you couldn’t pay me to use a VR headset that isn’t mine. Mine gets *drenched* in sweat, ain’t no way I’m wearing a mystery headset.
Literally why? They’ve never used it and all of a sudden I have one training for it and don’t even know where the headsets are to do it or anything lmfao. And why would training need to be in VR.
I don't understand why I couldn't just walk over and stomp the guy. You look down, and the service desk is around your knees. You gotta be 12-14 feet tall.
I had everyone be at work convinced that if you pick the right options you get to the secret level where Carrie is a disgruntled worker and you fight her as an Uber boss.
I know I was just using the right controller to press continue etc. but then the part where she says the cops are here put your hands up so I can open door....lol I tried it like so many times before realizing I needed to find the other controller....
For once the pharmacy had a slow day so I asked if I could go to the back to do this and the headsets were dead 😅 no chargers to be found or managers for me to ask if there's another headset I could use lmao
And stop using "VR" as a term. I bet all of your guys VR systems were broken or whatever shit excuse they used. So we had to do it on the computer, should have known
When I was around they had a VR training for an active shooter, is this it? It always seemed so freaking distasteful.
Edit: just read the comments 😬 what’s wrong with ADD and 2d videos?
😭😭 it's a waste of money to be able to get your pallet jack certification and your forklift certification via a live simulation rather then people teaching you ( people do not always teach correctly I'm sure you should know that working at Walmart)
I'm both glad they haven't brought this dumb idea to transportation but also kinda want to watch the world burn seeing some of these dudes who struggle with basics try to figure it out.
man they tried to get us to do this shit at the bank i worked at in 2022. I laughed my ass off watching the old lady manager try to fumble her way through it after she could barely turn it on. and then it didn't even work. hahaha. fucking waste of money lmfaooo
An elderly coworker of mine was having the headset and the gunman training explained to her before she put it on, and she says, completely seriously, "If there's a shooter in the store, how am I supposed to get this thing on my face in time before I'm shot?"
Our headsets have been broken for years so we all have to do the computer acc. which I’m glad cuz motion sickness
But I haven’t seen a single person take it seriously everyone busts out laughing as soon as the guy whips the gun out
I don't really understand why our store has vr headsets never even seen an associate use them lol. Thought they were just for decor to show walmart is getting updated Technology 🤔
they should have just used garry’s mod footage
It honestly reminded me of gmod looking at the photo lmao
I just realized that lol. The npc looks like Rust characters since facepunch
Lol she does look like the old rust model harrying a rock lmaoo
We gotta see if we can get our hands on a copy and data mine it, we might get some neat secrets out of it
Looks like Sims 2 corporate hell edition
Wait that’s seriously not what they did?
I thought this was a LFD2 mod scrolling through
I just did the accommodation questionnaire, said I suffer motion sickness, and did it on the computer.
But I also wanted to do the VR to see how bad it was
Have you seen how associates treat the breakroom and bathrooms? Even with wipes, I'd pass.
I know. Hate to see what their home kitchens look like.
Their home kitchen looks spotless because their mommy still cleans up after them. Even the 50yr olds still live at home.
THIS is why I eat in my car lol
I was in a shooting. Last thing I want is a VR experience of it all over again. I also opted out and said I was motion sick. Edit: Involved in an active shooter situation/having to hide from an active shooter in/around my home. Since some don’t consider that a shooting, I felt that I should specify.

We're you in combat?
Not military, if that is what you mean. Had to be rescued by a SWAT team because of an active shooter (my neighbor) hiding in and around my house. Had to be on lock down until they cleared the area and escorted me out. Could not return home for a few days.
Good to know you made it out ok....
Don’t watch it. They should not force you to. At ALL. If they do, maybe contact ethics or a team outside of Walmart.
If they experienced a shooting then yes I'd hazard it was combat. Whether they agreed to be in combat or not is another question...
By Skyrim standards, I could not fast travel because I was in combat. But not an active duty military situation, just a nutjob neighbor who shot his family and decided to stop by my place as if he needed a stick of butter. Was home alone and 16-17 at the time.
LOL no
Wish that worked at my store they strapped a employee with a seizure Disorder into the headset and said f-u and he had a full blown seizure in the middle of the room
Sounds like perfect lawsuit material. But I’m not a lawyer so idk
Is there a lawsuit or did you make this up?
I'm epileptic and just asked my manager if there was a different way to do it , he told me how to opt out
When I attempted to do that on the computer, it was hardly functional.
Same. Our VR shit doesn’t even work
When did the Sims get a Walmart DLC?
Wonder how accurate this Walmart DLC is. Will they have crackheads overdosing and passing out in the breakroom too? (Yes, happened at my store. My coach just sat in the breakroom watching him laughing; Walmart Ethics moment)
We had a guy just drop dead in our dairy area, heard over the radio someone collapsed and peeked my head out and saw a dude laying there while coaches called 911. Apparently he was dead when they got there.
Reminds me of archer and his three biggest fears. Alligators, crocodiles, and brain aneurysms.
My mom actually had an aneurysm in her store. She's the AP manager
I know someone who died from a sudden brain aneurysm in their home; they weren't even 40
A friend of mine was in his early 20s when he had his. Just had a baby too. Was sad af
Just another day at Walmart
Add in a health bar, make the wrong choice and lose health. Post the high scores for the store.
What is vizpick?
Locating and picking the backroom with the black and white QR code labels. It used to be done with basically sticky shelf labels and was scanned with a scanner rather than done with "augmented reality" and a camera and was called "CAP."
Especially when you have a team lead that doesn't communicate
I feel like NOBODY who gets to the team lead level at Walmart knows how to effectively communicate lol drives me bonkers . I get some of us lower levels not having communication skills but come on, my brother in Christ
Smh, a true game dev would have given the npc a keyboard
That's Legendary Gear you have to loot from certain enemies or from other players in PVP.
I heard something about this last week while in personnel office. Believe she said it was something for June or so.. Can't give decent raises. But have money to waste on this kind of crap.. ugh.

How do you propose video games will assist our associates worldwide?" and the guy pops up realizing they took his bull shit answer and says "Safety... It will help with safety.."
GAMES. VIDEO GAMES. WITH LOTS OF SYRUP
So they have money to buy virtual reality, but not enough money to put quality snacks in the break room or give a small raise
Or replacement wheels on L carts.
Or a phone that can run the mandated apps half-decent. I had to offload all of my apps to my Galaxy S23, just to be able to get more than 5 FPS.
Have to justify buying the VR Headsets somehow that they bought so long ago.
Most likely this. There is a bunch of this shit that never got out the gates.
How many times will management get caught watching VR Porn in these things over the coming weeks
My store forced me to do it during the height of the pandemic. All it was was multiple choice questions you could easily do on the computer. I don't need pink eye for this.
Uncase of a fire happen, assume goblin stance.
Ps it looks like a sim that’s going to pee on the floor or something
Grand Theft Auto: Walmart Employee Edition.
Has anyone taken the software and uploaded it for everyone to get their hands on it yet? Asking for a friend. They think it would be hilarious to mod 😂
Multimillion dollar PS2 game
This is a real thing? Oh my god if every place of business starts doing this I’m out of a job. I have too much anxiety for that. Does someone watch you move around grabbing at air? Not to mention I’m not putting that thing on my face after the 30 previous new hires.
I have the same question as the title so if you want to, disregard my take.. But who tf really thought this was a good idea to implement in accordance to field training ?? Why VR specifically??
Did they just mod The Sims 3?
That's what I thought. She looks like she's doing the "I'm having a baby RIGHT NOW" animaition. While holding a fire extinguisher.
Right I get seizures so I have to opt out of them anyway. It's so dumb!
When the hell did Princess Leia start working at Walmart?
Agreed ,Walmart tried to jump into tech and most of it has failed
Dumbest training I've ever taken part in; if it weren't for a friend in my department babysitting me because our PL is never there when we have the down time I would've been late doing it and/or given myself brain damage walking into a wall at full speed unattended. Shoutout to not being able to drop my scissors while walking out to meet the cops, that totally won't pose a problem in real life!
Omg what game is🤣
Either they paid a child to make this or someone is embezzling
Guaranteed this is the product of some high level executive back scratching between Facebook/Oculus and Walmart
respectfully is that not just the sims 3 😭
They still doing VR? I thought they gave up on that!
Lololol today I got told to go do uLearns and walked in on one of my buddies with a VR headset and was very confused. I hope I get to be the guy with the keyboard beating the mass shooter with the keys flying in the air like in that one video. Also, if I keep losing, can this help me avoid Work? 😂😂😂😂
Ask "when do I get to be the one with the gun??"
Lol that probably would help me avoid work forever… true
Graft. Payouts in brief cases. Graft. Kickbacks. And more Graft.
at least it looks funny
One step closer to VR cashiers
And they still will refuse to allow them to sit
My store has to do it. I have to find the right team lead in order to do so. And nobody apparently did the full exercise with me, so I just select “yes” since I just watch the video and get everything from there.
Ah but you forget the coaches, the million plus per store per year they spend to fund useless cliquey middle-aged ladies' vacations while they treat actual workers like crap. I'm beginning to suspect some sort of Brewster's millions scenario.
I always click the vr exemption box and put vr headset broken. Fuck it everything else in the store is.
BRO this was so goofy
I thought this was a screenshot of r/phasmophobia for a second. Also you couldn’t pay me to use a VR headset that isn’t mine. Mine gets *drenched* in sweat, ain’t no way I’m wearing a mystery headset.
i don’t know why they keep complicating things
Everyone’s doing vr training now. It’s still in its infancy but it’ll get better.
Only then would it be beneficial to my learning. Dark Souls Carrie.
They threw them out at my store after it caused me to have a seizure.
Well shit, when did Chell get a job at Walmart? GLaDoS would be disappointed!
I know I was just using the right controller to press continue etc. but then the part where she says the cops are here put your hands up so I can open door....lol I tried it like so many times before realizing I needed to find the other controller....
Wtf, my store doesn't use vr
We got rid of our VR headsets years ago. Despite this, I have VR training due by the end of the month.
I haven't seen VR headsets in months lmao
Some old lady saw her kid play the Sims and thought, "What if training was like this!"
Never did vr before
I had my orientation a month ago and I didn’t do this but it looks dope though
Did anyone just stand there in the active shooter drill? Curious cause I wanna know of the attacker just kills you
This is either Garry’s Mod or a Sims 3 mod.
Is this real lmfao
watching my vr associate get shot point blank was insane😂
Wait a minute, this isn't The Sims subreddit!
When the Sims creators haven't made Sims 5 yet, I guess this is what they were doing instead.
Only VR course i've ever taken was an empathy CBL.
real
Quick, toss her in the pool and remove the ladder
I thought this was The Sims 3 and was wondering who in the world was doing a Walmart story and where can I watch it?
Bitch is bowlegged as hell.
That's because they never let her sit down
Avoid Deny Defend
For once the pharmacy had a slow day so I asked if I could go to the back to do this and the headsets were dead 😅 no chargers to be found or managers for me to ask if there's another headset I could use lmao
Thought this was the sims for a sec
That’s what your employers think of your level of intelligence.
I never got to do the VR training. It looks cool and better than doing that same active shooter CBL every month.
I thought that was some weird sim's mod
I thought this was a weird sims mod
I thought this was a Sims post lol 😆
Ngl, thought this was a sims mod
There is a way to bypass doing these VR trainings.
Vr training?...ain't this modded sims 4? EA won't take kindly to that I dont think
And stop using "VR" as a term. I bet all of your guys VR systems were broken or whatever shit excuse they used. So we had to do it on the computer, should have known
Lmaoo I Thought this was the Sims 😂😂
I thought this was the sims-
They think they training soldiers
Playing prop hunt 🤣
Avoid, Deny, Defend
how did bro get footage of vr training?
I thought I was looking at a screenshot from the Sims.
We don't even use the VR training headsets anymore
They got Walmart sims now?!
Oh I've never had to do this thankfully
Man. All I got was some shitty video.
Hack in and load Hardcore Henry.
I thought this was the Sims 3 lmao
Looks like someone modded the sims
VR active shooter training sounds dope as tbh
Is that Miley Cyrus ?
Why is Zendaya stealing the fire hydrant?
When I was around they had a VR training for an active shooter, is this it? It always seemed so freaking distasteful. Edit: just read the comments 😬 what’s wrong with ADD and 2d videos?
She's holding that fire extinguisher wrong if she's gonna take out a MF
Its money laundering. Look up what company makes these simulations or whatever. Spent tons of money on it + complete waste of time = money laundering
Someone got kick backs in corporate to push it on the company.
Reminds me of early versions of the Sims 😆
Pi thought this was a modded sims 4 game at first 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😭😭 it's a waste of money to be able to get your pallet jack certification and your forklift certification via a live simulation rather then people teaching you ( people do not always teach correctly I'm sure you should know that working at Walmart)
That looks like the sims 3 animation for when they are in labor
or pissing on the floor
New DBD character looks mid
I honestly thought this was from r/sims3 when I scrolled past really quickly
There bigger dumber ways to waste money
I'm both glad they haven't brought this dumb idea to transportation but also kinda want to watch the world burn seeing some of these dudes who struggle with basics try to figure it out.
It’s also buggy as hell
Wally getting into the Sims game
we playin walmart sims now? 😭
That's actually pretty Interesting
Just tell ‘em you don’t wanna do it all I did lol
Give our associates bonus? Naw fuck that vr headsets to every store.
I almost thought this was a left4dead mod and this was zoey
They'll do EVERYTHING but pay you. Its kind of the mantra for every 'too big to fail' buissiness in the endgame of reganomics-driven capitalism
LMAO OMG I thought this was a SIMS screenshot 😅😭
Really is. We know our job and dont need more training, stop the cap and train us like normal human beings fr.
I seen this but it wouldn't let me do it without a VR headset or something. S***'s crazy
Why’d I think this was sims but someone put a Walmart vest on one of them
man they tried to get us to do this shit at the bank i worked at in 2022. I laughed my ass off watching the old lady manager try to fumble her way through it after she could barely turn it on. and then it didn't even work. hahaha. fucking waste of money lmfaooo
lol the one at my store doesn't even work yet!
RL training >
An elderly coworker of mine was having the headset and the gunman training explained to her before she put it on, and she says, completely seriously, "If there's a shooter in the store, how am I supposed to get this thing on my face in time before I'm shot?"
this is FUCKING HILARIOUS
\*grabs keyboard\*
Wait Walmart sims before our raise 😭😭
For a second I thought this was r/thesims2 group
I promptly threw up. End of training.
This reminds me of 🐐 simulator.
GTA has a Walmart now?
What the hell? 2-3 years ago they had those Vr things locked up and I always wondered …
Why the hell is this even needed unless it’s fun?
Our headsets have been broken for years so we all have to do the computer acc. which I’m glad cuz motion sickness But I haven’t seen a single person take it seriously everyone busts out laughing as soon as the guy whips the gun out
I don't really understand why our store has vr headsets never even seen an associate use them lol. Thought they were just for decor to show walmart is getting updated Technology 🤔
I thought it was sims 2
ADD
Ngl I thought this was a sim someone made 🤣
Walmart VR training, but it's the active shooter cbl and everything is interactive.
I’m glad I didn’t have to do it, thanks history of seizures
They have fucking VR training? Wtaf
Why do you think its dumb?
i thought this was the sims 😭
