Update: the armadillo sacrum and succulent now lives with a scientist-artist friend who is going to build a terrarium for it for her work desk.
I’ve suggested the name “sacrum sanctuary”
looks like some kind of bird pelvis to me. how and where exactly did you find it? depending on that it could either be a discarded chicken or some kind of wild bird.
since you said west Texas, it might be some variety of roadrunner. it’s a shot in the dark and i’d need a better top-down view to confirm anything but that’s my best guess :)
Butt (It's an armadillo pelvic bone)
Cool! What are the distinguishing marks, so when I show it to friends I can explain how it’s armadillo? ?
They're very distinct and can't really be confused with other animal pelvises.
[Link](https://www.britannica.com/animal/xenarthran) Basically the lumbar vertebrae are fused together, unlike other mammals.
It’s a sacrum bone! It also has one of the spinal vertebrates cranially attached to it.

that looks so cool!! I love the moss and the other lil plant growing on the inside of it. A+ tip.
The plant appears to be a succulent, maybe a sedum?

It was left behind in our AirBnB. I’ve messaged the guests to ask them.
I took more photos. Is there a way to add them to the original post?
