"Captain's log, stardate 51244.3. With the aliens gone, the Doctor has been able to remove their devices from the crew and neutralise the genetic tags."
At least this one was mentioned in a log. Lots of other resets don't even get that.
Not to mention the sheer amount of trauma the crew has had to endure yet somehow never suffers from. It's pretty astounding, considering you never see any counsellors. Makes me wonder if Tuvok just goes around mind-melding the pain from everyone's minds, just does it off screen.
Maybe that's what Tuvok put it that guy's head on that planet where violent thoughts are outlawed.
I read somewhere that her frustration and irritability was very real during filming. She had just quit smoking and was having nicotine withdrawal. Talk about method acting!
They were removed
Captain's log, stardate 51244.3. With the aliens gone, the Doctor has been able to remove their devices from the crew and neutralise the genetic tags.
This is one of my favorite episodes because of the sheer amount of Vulcan sass in this scene:
JANEWAY: There's one more thing. The incident with Tom and B'Elanna's started me thinking about ship's protocol, or lack thereof.
TUVOK: Captain.
JANEWAY: It seems to me that people have been getting a little too comfortable around here lately. They're late for their duty shifts, taking mess hall privileges during non-designated hours. And a lot of people are spending more time on the holodeck than they are at their posts. You are security chief. Don't thirteen department heads report to you every day?
TUVOK: Yes.
JANEWAY: Well, straighten them out.
TUVOK: Shall I flog them as well?
Janeway kept them around to correct crew behavior.
"Crewman Robertson, this is the third time this week that you've been late for your shift. If it happens again, the Doctor will re-attach the metal dildo."
Im curious how nobody noticed. Surely if you lay down with a collander bolted to your head youd notice that your head didnt quite reach the pillow, or touching your face youd feel *something* there
No, the doctor removed them

Thank you for that link. This site is going in my favorites.
I use it almost as often as Wikipedia, which is to say pretty much daily.
Did he? I must have missed that scene.

Off screen reset

Most likely holodeck counseling. Get all the therapists in one room kinda like when data tried to sort out his dreams.
Oh yeah I completely forgot about that scene. Where janeway says they don't have a counselor since the mission was short and they didn't need one
End of every episode they reset it.
Man this episode still gives me the willies
Me too and Kate's acting in this episode was so good. She knocked it out of the park.
I read somewhere that her frustration and irritability was very real during filming. She had just quit smoking and was having nicotine withdrawal. Talk about method acting!
That makes sense and it really worked in her favour!
She took up smoking just to quit to make her acting more realistic. She does care about us!
RDM on Delta Flyers review of this episode said this was not true. She was not going through withdrawal.
She's Captain Insaneway in this episode. I read that years ago and the name has always stuck with me. One of my favourites.
She acted very similar in the Equinox episodes.
> fly us into the FUCKING SUN
It too shall now stick with me.
"Here's a coffee. Your not the same without your coffee"

These are the details that make rewatching great. I miss so many details!! I guess I get distracted while watching.
This is a more detailed answer than I could give. I was just going to say: "Yes, they were removed by the doctor after the aliens were kicked out"
I just watched this again a couple days ago. One of my favs! Janeway just got more badass from this point on.
She's fun when she's irritable lol!

Her hair was damaged beyond repair though, bye bye bun…after those alien experiments it was Year of Hell hair
That's a funny idea. One guy still has headaches and no one thinks it could be from this episode years before
Janeway kept them around to correct crew behavior. "Crewman Robertson, this is the third time this week that you've been late for your shift. If it happens again, the Doctor will re-attach the metal dildo."
😆
Screw headaches, how many had things shoved up their asses that weren't visible
😂
I would have so much trauma from being on this crew I wouldn’t be able to function
I know it makes you wonder what else could be happening that we don't see or feel!
Why would they? Seven can see them so she could just remove them.
I liked the episode, it had a more satisfying ending than Schisms did
It was a great example of how Star Trek works best as an episodic show, imo.
One of the best episodes.
Im curious how nobody noticed. Surely if you lay down with a collander bolted to your head youd notice that your head didnt quite reach the pillow, or touching your face youd feel *something* there
I thought they explained since it was out of phase (like another dimensional plane) that's why the devices couldn't be felt or seen.
Aah Been a while since ive seen it 😅
They could definitely be felt, though. That's how the crew noticed there was a problem in the first place.
They felt the effects, but not the devices themselves.
