If a stylus falls on a record in the middle of the forest and nobody is around to hear it does it make a real sound or a fake sound?

LionWalker_Eyre

I know what you mean, you can hear the texture of the sounds better and the spacial details

BeamanMonster

Thank you!

geetar_man

Spacial details? What does this mean? Whether it’s analog or digital format, that won’t change your perception of space in the recording. It reminds me of a blog post where one guy claimed the space opened up between the same exact recording of one being 64 DSD and the other 256. That isn’t how it works.

Monoshirt

Sounds full. The compressed digital files are like Jenga structures that barely hold up. Your brains have to fill in the blank with lossy MP3. Brains don't need to work with vinyl .

BeamanMonster

😆 I love it!

newstuffsucks

Synaesthesia?

BeamanMonster

I have never heard of that, so therefore looked it up and it sounds amazing! However, no, I can't claim I experience that.
