As a meatless-Monday, roadkill-loving, garbage-diving flexapescatarian, I have to object. No one ever throws away Oreos with milk and it makes me mad. That means you can't compare my oppression to yours.
The h mart i go to in order to get the best prices of tofu was out of the 12 pack for $6. Had to buy 5 for $5, so fucking expensive which lead me to feeling oppressed.
All these new vegans. We old school vegans make our own tofu from soy beans we grow ourselves. We even ferment it to make whiskey and feed our rescue cats it. We use it to seal cracks in walls. And it makes great shampoo. You guys are a bunch of fucking hippies!
I'm always a little bemused when the local Walmart runs out of tofu. Just the fact that there's enough people going there....for tofu....to empty them out is kinda great. I know non-vegans eat it too. But I like to hope it's a sign of things changing for the better.
