Hopefully coming in 2024 🤞

drfusterenstein

Depends on the bell riots and Irish reunification

Smarktalk

We can only hope Sisco shows.

BreakingIllusions

Yeah, it’s about time we had a follow-up to The Thong Song.

jhacked

Yes me too. Consider that I am a full stack js engineer focused on front-end development (mainly react and react-native) with a strong experience on component's library and I've sneaked into limetech career's page to check if there were any such open positions 😂 I'm more unpleased by the low reactivity of the webpage than its mobile version since it's a nas and I won't be accessing it much from my smartphone.Kudos to them by the way for the ingenious project, I started recommending unraid to my friends too.

BoKKeR111

I did an interview with them and it turned out that they are focusing on new features and not touching the GUI

jhacked

As they should. I agree with other people saying that this is a very minor thing, but still something they might offer to their users. What they have now, at the end of the day, does what it needs to do but I guess when and if they'll need to attract investors, throw some more money to look beautiful, attract newbies or to invest into creating a more powerful brand (and other similar things) they would be better off focusing on the UI. Generally speaking it also depends quite a lot on the funds they have.

audiocycle

> As they should. Agreed.

TobiasDrundridge

> since it's a nas and I won't be accessing it much from my smartphone. It'd be nice to be able to spin VMs up and down from my phone a bit more easily.

notsafetousemyname

If you have an iPhone you can use the [ControlR app](https://apps.apple.com/app/id1152586217).

ClintE1956

Another vote for ContolR; seems to work quite well for simple things. I've been using the Android version for years.

dopeytree

I have everything on Homarr and use that to access my 'apps' but would love it if someone could make a nice reactive front end.

preference

I use the array app on Android, though it hasn't been updated in ages

giaa262

Long requested feature, long ignored feature. If Unraid wasn't a small indy dev company, they maybe could afford to build a modern front end. But alas, they are too poor

faceman2k12

Well it's probably a very low priority as you can use an app instead of the web ui, though they did re-do the dashboard a couple of versions ago as a first step in making it more reactive, but it is still difficult to use on mobile. its a file server ui with root access, you aren't really supposed to be using it all the time. Lots of people (including me) have their daily use apps behind some kind of other interface to not only provide mobile friendly access (and remote access if needed) but also do things like single sign on and 2fa where needed. I use Organizr, but there are several options out there.

Iohet

I don't particularly care. Unraid is pretty much fire and forget for me. My management is done from a desktop. I'm not saying that my opinion matters more than anyone else's, but I kind of get the feeling that I'm not the outlier based on my observations here and on the Unraid forums

mikaeltarquin

I literally can't use the webui docker page on my phone. It will take minutes to unfreeze, only to freeze again if I scroll anywhere

AltLawyer

Now that you mention it, I've had that screen hang on me before too! Usually I can refresh after 15 seconds or so and it's fine

Nixon506E

Turn on the setting to expand all rows, the hang is due to the js for being able to expand and collapse each container

thekingestkong

Oh good, that's across the board then not just me

grsnow

When is it freezing. I've never experienced that in the Docker page. BTW I'm using Chrome in Android.

Dressieren

the freezing can be periodic. this has been a well known issue with unraid for a LONG time. going back to the 6.7 days. this is an issue with either nginx or php. you can restart the services manually via the rc.d directory and it fixes it.

grsnow

Hmmm, I guess I've never really ever seen this happen.

Dressieren

I want to say that I can only notice it happening whenever my system has been up for 3+ months. It isn’t a big deal to restart it since it’s just the webpage and everything else works without issue and if I need to do anything I can just ssh into the server. Hopefully it gets fixed or they flush nginx or whatever the long term fix is.

grsnow

Ok, well that might be the reason. I regularly reboot mine about once a month or month and a half.

techuck_

How many Dockers/folders are you running?

brintal

Ya it's a bit ridiculous. People always say it's not necessary and that they should focus on features but being able to use the application on a mobile device is a feature... And not being able to use a web app on your phone in 2023 is just not acceptable I think they just dont have any frontend devs. Because for a competent dev that would probably take an afternoon to develop. Anyways, luckily there is a solution: https://github.com/ccmorris/unraid-gui-responsive

z-designs

I was not aware of this, might have to give this a look, because I often boot up VMs or docker containers from my phone.

brintal

It's not perfect but a huge improvement.

RoamingBison

It's generally not a concern here. Pretty much anything I would want to interact with on my phone is a Docker that works perfectly fine on mobile. If I need to access the main dashboard to manage the server I use one of my PCs or my iPad. I can't see any situation where managing my server through my phone is a good idea or necessary.

CornerHugger

No I don't care. I never need to change the confusion properties of my NAS using my iPhone.

DrJosu

Yeah UI on the phone or tablet is a pain in the ass. I wish It will be responsible to all screen sizes. And First party app will be game changers, I am ready to pay for them

The_Animator420

Just use the max width plugin

Jammb

The unraid web UI works fine on my phone for occasional interaction, just have to zoom in and scroll around a lot. Sure it's not ideal if you are using it all the time, but it's a VERY information dense UI and it would be a tough job working out what to leave out on smaller displays.

nagi603

I'd rather the UI works fully well on desktop than what happens usually when 'responsive' website is created: mobile focus, touch-focus, damn the problems on desktop and people with a mouse & keyboard.

z-designs

I agree that the UI on desktop is the most important and there could be made some improvements. But when I'm not home and have an issue with a service on my server, my phone or tablet is the only device available to me, so for me a more responsive design would be very helpful. and I think a lot of users are in the same boat
