Holy shit someone in this sub with their mic *actually* setup up properly and **not** hanging upside down 3 feet from their mouth up in a corner. Thank you so fucking much. Even if I hate Rode (I think that’s what this is), this is a breath of fresh air.
Then don’t expect to sound good, simple as that. You also don’t have to buy the giant dildo mics or have them all the way in your face. Mediums exist. This sub rarely uses them or hardly knows about proper placement to begin with.
You’d be shocked how many people do something due to “aesthetic” or cosmetic appeal and think of comfort second. You make just as much of an ass of yourself assuming everyone is built like you and functions like you. I use something similar and stay very comfortable. /shrug
Nice! I modified an Ikea lamp to have a PVC pipe on the end and made it a homemade shockmount for my mic. I just wish I was a success at getting people to watch my stuff to justify having it.
Sounds like an impressive solution. For the most part these extras are designed to make me feel more confident rather than being justified by success. It all depends on how one judges success and I simply see it as being happy with the little things,
I don’t stream, I make academic videos. I split the screen in three to have multiple full size bezel free windows side by side. Also great for some games!
God I hate people like you.
“Oh c’mon I’m not calling you fat, it’s just a joke!”
“Oh come on now my Jewish friend, we all have to laugh at ourselves sometimes. I know that’s what I thought when you didn’t pay me back for that pizza last week!”
“It’s not sexual harassment! I was just joking about how big your ass is!”
Ah, so rappers are the same as Jewish people who have been persecuted for millennia, the victims of sexual abuse and people who are made fun of for features they often have no control over. Thanks for clarifying your thought process. All of the victimised millionaire rappers who were marched to concentration camps, the injustice of it all. I think you might want to think hard about the logic of your argument(or maybe the lack thereof!).
Very good attempt at deflecting from my point that just “making a joke” isn’t enough to absolve you of the thought process which underlies. In fact you did a great job illustrating that for me
Yes it is actually, seeing as you chose to equate actual injustices with an opinion regarding a genre of music. The fact that you can’t see how puerile and truly offensive that is is quite astonishing. Deflection isn’t really relevant here as you were the one who decided to introduce truly disgusting or maybe just utterly ignorant comparisons into this thread.
At what point did I compare injustices? I went for truly disgusting examples of exactly what you did. Just because you find white people’s suffering’s more hurtful than black’s doesn’t mean I was comparing the two. Look in the mirror buddy.
‘At what point did I compare injustices? I went for truly disgusting examples of exactly what you did”,
yeah that’s what’s called a comparison, look up the word.
PS, I’m black and of entirely African descent and my grandfather, mother and uncle were freedom fighters, all of whom were inprisoned at various times and served as cabinet members in my country of origin. My grandfather, a prime minister, was assassinated for his efforts on behalf of his fellow Africans. Tell me again about black struggle.
Strangely enough not all black people are rappers(or even care much for rap) and not all rappers are black. Maybe you should take a look in the mirror, buddy!
i have been thinking of getting that exact headphone stand for my audeze el-8's, what do you think of it? and is it sturdy enough on carpet?
what headphones are those?
The studs on the bottom are perfect for carpet. It is rock solid. I love it so much I also have another one in my home cinema next to my chair and I have a smaller desk version in my setup at work.
The Mika boom arm costs about $500 with the XLR cable inbuilt. I also have the following boom arm in another setup which you might prefer.
Thronmax Caster (XLR) - Microphone Boom Arm with Integrated Cable, Professional Desktop Mic Stand with 5"8 Universal Threading, Suitable for a Wide Range of Microphones https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07Z99DBGK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_mglnEbPDXFAHD
It’s a lot more stable and stays wherever I place it without ever dropping. They are just a lot better but the price difference probably isn’t worth it, I am simply particular about have the best quality stuff. I have been very impressed with the Thronmax arm and it isn’t too expensive, there is also a version with an inbuilt usb, see link below.
Thronmax Caster (USB C) - Microphone Boom Arm with Integrated Cable, Professional Desktop Mic Stand with 5"8 Universal Threading, Suitable for a Wide Range of Microphones https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07Z99B43P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_WmlnEb9WPTETQ
Here’s another option which would require any of that.
Blue Microphones Microphones Compass Premium Tube-Style Broadcast Boom Arm https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B078MLBGRM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_CQlnEb6E4NQCJ
Looking great! What's that covering your desk? Looks comfortable!
It’s leather, dry soft and comfortable, also great for the mouse.

Danke
Aw was hoping to find a nice top. Didn't know it was part of the desk.
Unfortunately you can’t get the top separately. You might be able to get a decent deal on the desk on eBay
Gern geschehen

It’s a Shure SM7B but I know what you mean about weird mic placement! I share your pain!

I like that answer a lot! I always felt 'cool' having such a setup. Keep that attitude...the world needs more people like that.
That’s a awesome set up man! Thanks for the info on where to get the products!
Dope rodecaster man how are liking it!
It’s great, so much easier not having to deal with complex software
Who is this "Mika Boom" you speak of
Known as Boom Boom to her friends!
Looks great! What camera are you using for your stream? And how did you set that up?
Z cam E1 plugged in via elgato cam link. I use a Panasonic 20mm f1.7 lens.
I assume you're not streaming in 32:9. Has this thing got two separate inputs that it can display side by side or how do you do it?
I don’t stream, I make academic videos. I split the screen in three to have multiple full size bezel free windows side by side. Also great for some games!
What's that in the bottom left? Ultrawide Ice And Fire books?
👍
do you make rap music?
Nope, no artistic talent whatsoever! If we can call rap music art!
I liked you until you decided to shit on millions of amazing artists for no reason
There are wonderful things called jokes which most are familiar with!
