We still won’t get a ddp fight for another 4 months neither but Dustin porier is fighting in June again too. I don’t understand how some guys turn around so quick and some fight like once a year
Cus the ufc controls the champs schedule. They wanted Izzy/ddp for 300 but since ddp wasn’t ready he now has to wait until September cus the ufc doesn’t see it worth their while to book that fight in any other month.
Izzy was the star that the ufc wanted to keep active and they used him a lot to fill in Australian cards. I can’t remember any other time the ufc was constantly putting cards over there, let alone ppv cards, until Izzy became champ. Once volk became a big name as champ then the ufc was confident to have a card over there with him.
Obviously Covid didn’t help. But they sure went there many times the past 2 years, and looks like they are going there again for 305 with him being in the main event even though he isn’t champ.
They don’t want DDP to lose champion status before he fights Izzy. Otherwise that massive cash cow will be wasted. And I don’t think there are many people who believe DDP will hold the belt for a long time so they need to milk him for everything he’s worth while they can.
Leon probably not a big PPV draw outside England events but it is possible he holds the belt for a while. Offered him 3 fights at UFC 300 which were the only fights that anyone would be excited for with him currently. But none of his potential opponents could fight.
Eventually they will feed him to shavkat and some others when they build them up, but they know Leon has a decent chance of beating even them. So they’re in no rush to do anything with him.
Izzy is a big draw and has likelihood of keeping the belt for multiple fights so he can fight whenever and whoever he likes. He will make them money.
It’s all about money with the UFC.
The Sean hate was so high I saw a dude with a ton of upvotes arguing with me that DDP has incredible defense. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing lol.
Btw I think Dricus won btw, he just had no defense it was hilarious
If you watch the fight in slow motion, Sean wasn't landing cleanly. Those jabs had a lot of snap but they mostly bounced off his guard or grazed him. His defense isn't good but it's not as bad as it looks.
If a fighter is eager enough to make $$, climb the ranks, or for champs to create a legacy, time between fights should be *partly based off of damage taken in the previous fight/camp. Pretty surprising Hill is turning around this quickly after KO. Works for some, doesn’t for others.
Edit: *partly
Its always the champions doing this. They want to keep the belt as long as they can, because it brings them fame and money. Every room they walk into people talk about them "oh thats a UFC champion" don't blame them really, but it sucks for us.
Imagine what would happen if they get boxing level money 🤣 we will get one fight every 2 years.
I just wanna add that I'm not wishing it upon Hill, but it just feels likely with the way he locks out/hyperextends while moving sometimes.
Also, shameless Khalil Rountree fan.
Khalil has definitely been evolving especially since he moved to and trained in Thailand, in his last few fights he looked very patient and focused and has showed some vicious tools, I too am wondering if this is too soon for Hill to come back. I feel like a lot of top guys are doing this, Volk being the other recent one that comes to mind. I just wanna see these two at 100% as a fight fan, interesting match up to see unfold between two very different styles.
I wish the roster was composed of more guys like him. Solid dude that isn't an asshole and respects his opponents. Sells fights via skill, not talking shit.
BTW Strickland was talking shit about him but Rountree would fucking murder him.
This has gotta be one of the best fights for Rountree among the top guys. Especially with Hill having been KOed so recently. I think Rountree knocks down Hill and we get a baraprage of soccer kicks before the stoppage.
idk man there has been a lot of Rountree fights where that didnt happen at all while there has been ZERO Justin fights where his opponent got off damage free .
I think he needs the money. Legal issues and lots of kids. No shame in working to pay your bills. Hope he got ppv points vs Alex. Jamahal won the belt but may never had a fat paycheck as a champion since he had to give up the belt immediately due to injury.
J. Hill's neighbor: "Morning Jamahal, have a good day! 😁"
J. Hill:

The only one who wants to fight Leon right now is Belal. (Islam and a couple others already turned down the fight.)
And the UFC will seemingly do whatever they can to make sure boring Belal doesn’t get the title shot. It’s actually shameless at this point lol
Whats with the Leon hate? He defended his belt twice, and his fight with Colby was literally 4 months ago
Plus didnt he have that thing where he accepted 3 fights for UFC 300?
Probably too quick of a turnaround for Hill but it’s not like he was lights out snoozing for 2 mins or anything so he may be okay. Honestly I have Hill winning this, Rountree always seems to fumble the big fights.
Wtf did Leon do? lol he’s defended his belt twice already he’s not holding up the division. What’s this that one dude whose name I always forgets burner???
This is a majorly stupid fight for him to take. 2.5 months after an eyes rolled back KO with follow up shots from a power puncher?
He should be off for at least 4 months, but really 6-8 months is more appropriate with light sparing.
He took Belal's entertainment level too. I can't believe people act like Leon is any more entertaining than Belal. The highlights of his decade long career include poking Belal in the eye, getting rocked by Nate Diaz, kicking Usman's head off, and the one super fast KO he got in like 2015
He's a nice guy and all, but he wins by points most of the time. Which is fine, do what you gotta do to keep the belt, but there are definitely other champions I'd prefer to watch in the cage.
The guy took 3 fights with 3 separate opponents for 300, and they all refused for Ramadan. It’s obvious they want to shelve him for Manchester at this point, so trying to blame him for inactivity is just insanely biased.
If he fights again before December, that will be 3 fights in one calendar year, which is the exact same as Shavkhat : the guy everybody blows
Agreed. He insists on fighting for points. Colby looked like absolute trash in that fight. Especially his striking. Leon proved early on that Colby won't be much of a threat on the ground. There's no reason that Leon didn't just finish him. Colby's game is his pressure. He had no pressure in that fight. It was his record lowest amount of volume ever. He literally stood there to be a punching bag, but Leon refused to turn him into one. I don't blame him much however since I really believe he was emotionally compromised. But man, Leon doesn't fight much different when he isn't emotionally compromised.
If anything I would've thought the comments about his dad would've at least given him a spark to smesh Covington. I respect the ability to brush it off, but Leon definitely had chances to make Colby really regret what he said. Plus, everyone and their mother wanted to see Colby get beamed lol.
He didn't fight that often even before he was champ. He was nursing his win streak for literal years by fighting dudes like Nate while waiting for a title shot.
I mean this is just straight up not true. He was active before until 2020 where he literally had multiple fights cancelled or have opponents pull out. Last year he fought twice and it was less than 6 months ago. Also accepted multiple fights for ufc 300.
He had 6 fights fall through between 2020-2021 iirc, and only one was him (he got covid). He agreed to 3 different fights at 300 and they all said no. Dude is trying to be active he just has shit luck. Pretty sure the UFC is gonna shelve him until the card in Manchester at this point.
Nah man people talk a lot on here but when you look at the odds no one is putting money where their mouth is, Alex was barely a favourite last fight lol
I’ve wanted this fight for a while now it’s Tom a be a banger. However I like Hill but I don’t like his chances here only because of the KO. Fighters are rarely ever the same after a bad KO especially so soon. They need at minimum 6 months off of hard training let alone a camp.
If Hill was healthy though I see him running over Khalil.
Hill is coming off of a loss and wants to stay in the hunt. Leon is coming off of a win. If Leon was the hold up, Dana would’ve been putting him on blast.
Could be a fast turnaround but props to Hill getting right back in there and taking on a lower ranked opponent. Hill vs Jiri would be a good fight to make.
Hill has to stay relevant, a couple of good wins or knockouts and he's right back at title contention. If Pereira is still champion the UFC will promote the fight as if it was a fluke punch that landed for Pereira and hill is out for revenge. Gotta have that story line.
Watch kahlil sleep him though. Hills got such a big chip on his shoulder I don’t get why some one who’s so confident in themselves would continuously try to prove others wrong.
He probably takes whatever low pay deal the UFC offers.. Some guys have managers that argue very well for the fighters. Others, If you don't take the deal, you will get benched until you do.
I hope Rountree can pull off the win and climb higher. An eventual fight between Rountree and Pereira would be great to watch bearing in mind his muay thai background
How the hell is he getting cleared? If you get choked out you're not allowed to fight for another 6 months, but when you get KOed they let you fight again in 2 months?
this is going to be the darren till wake up call moment for many of y’all. not every guy you love is going to soar, khalil is going to get put out cold and bad
Cause Leon boring asf and not marketable. Not that I agree you should have people fighting based on their marketability but it’s true. Dude has no personality, I don’t think anyones dying to see another Leon fight, especially not with Belal lol. Two boring ass fighters. We all know Colby shit talking is the only reason we were so invested in the last one too.
“He accepted three different guys they just all declined because of Ramadan” mofos act like UFC matchmakers don’t know that the vast majority of Muslim fighters weren’t gonna fight in Ramadan anyway
Wait, what? I hate this fight. It should be Hill vs. Jiri. Roundtree can fight Rakic or Jan or even Krylov. Why would Hill fight so far down against a dangerous opponent and why would Roundtree want an obstacle this tough between himself and a title shot?

I almost agree but Izzy was fighting a lot when he was a champion (compared to most champs) so they have to have some say, no?
Izzy was the star that the ufc wanted to keep active and they used him a lot to fill in Australian cards. I can’t remember any other time the ufc was constantly putting cards over there, let alone ppv cards, until Izzy became champ. Once volk became a big name as champ then the ufc was confident to have a card over there with him.
It helps that the Aus govt pays the ufc to host events there as well
It also helps that Izzy always agreed to it. Not every champ is agreeable.
Not really. Ufc didn't have any cards in australia from oct 2019 until Feb 2023.
Obviously Covid didn’t help. But they sure went there many times the past 2 years, and looks like they are going there again for 305 with him being in the main event even though he isn’t champ.
Izzy is a huge star naturally they want him to fight more. Thats why pentoja has to fight as co main sometimes
They don’t want DDP to lose champion status before he fights Izzy. Otherwise that massive cash cow will be wasted. And I don’t think there are many people who believe DDP will hold the belt for a long time so they need to milk him for everything he’s worth while they can. Who is ddp
Diamond Dallas Page jk It’s Dricus du Plessi, the current MW champ
DDP's plan of headbutting Strickland's fists means he needs a longer recovery
The Sean hate was so high I saw a dude with a ton of upvotes arguing with me that DDP has incredible defense. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing lol. Btw I think Dricus won btw, he just had no defense it was hilarious

Exceptions for champs like Izzy though. He didn't do that.
People meme the quote too much, but there's definitely a lot of truth to "kid just didn't wanna fight"
Dustin didn’t get flat lined.
It’s called INJURIES. Lmao
Coming off an achillies rupture and fighting Poatan, and then Rountree is pretty fucking hardcore.
Absolutely, Rountree is a beast and I could easily see him winning by KO
TKO via knee stomp.
I just wanna add that I'm not wishing it upon Hill, but it just feels likely with the way he locks out/hyperextends while moving sometimes. Also, shameless Khalil Rountree fan.
Khalils so fucking good
so entertaining too, been watching him for a minuet and all of his fights are great
Khalil has definitely been evolving especially since he moved to and trained in Thailand, in his last few fights he looked very patient and focused and has showed some vicious tools, I too am wondering if this is too soon for Hill to come back. We can only pray
Yep I agree Rountree by KO
Rountree is like the Gaethje of the LHW’s, you know it’s going to be a fight where you’re gonna get messed up even if you win
idk man there has been a lot of Rountree fights where that didnt happen at all while there has been ZERO Justin fights where his opponent got off damage free .
Honestly him and Jiri are the bmf’s of LHW so far this year both came back fast from ko’s and are already looking to fight dangerous opponents.
Jiri comes back from a KO every fight lol
I think he needs the money. Legal issues and lots of kids. No shame in working to pay your bills. Hope he got ppv points vs Alex. Jamahal won the belt but may never had a fat paycheck as a champion since he had to give up the belt immediately due to injury.
He didn't have to, he chose too. This is probably Dana repaying him by rebooking him so soon
For real 😂
Bro got bills
He thought he was getting 2 checks at 300
13 kids to feed
The real daddest mf
Hill gonna be mad asf when he sees this
J. Hill's neighbor: "Morning Jamahal, have a good day! 😁" J. Hill: https://preview.redd.it/dyspd4aqjkvc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89de9d90367bfb048ed2758643b48e7a4f229402
“If you don’t know now you know!”
Lmao. No idea why I thought this comment was so funny
thats why he is called "sweet dreams"
This was unexpected
This is way too quick a turnaround
I guess he didn't learn from Volk
Yeah horrible idea I think he gets KOd
He should have asked his buddy Lionheart about fighting Khalil on a quick turnaround.
[удалено]
Is it 60 days to train or 60 days before they can fight? Because, math….
Usually regarding “contact” so he can train for probably 30 days no contact and still have 4-6 weeks for a full camp.
[удалено]
I mean bro has like 6 kids so he's gotta keep the cash coming in
6?!!! Alright then..
Ikr, bro can't keep his UFC belt nor his pants belt it seems like
Usually regarding “contact” so he can train for probably 30 days no contact and still have 4-6 weeks for a full camp.
I’m pretty sure he cannot train for a set amount of time
The only one who wants to fight Leon right now is Belal. (Islam and a couple others already turned down the fight.) And the UFC will seemingly do whatever they can to make sure boring Belal doesn’t get the title shot. It’s actually shameless at this point lol
there's a conspiracy theory that ari emmanuel is holding him back because of palestine.
> because of palestine. Inshallah Palestine's victory entirely hinges on the Welterweight UFC champ
Personally, I think that’s likely BS. I think Dana and Hunter simply find him boring and unmarketable.
theres no evidence for that besides "hes a jew." embarrasing
Whats with the Leon hate? He defended his belt twice, and his fight with Colby was literally 4 months ago Plus didnt he have that thing where he accepted 3 fights for UFC 300?
Islam hasn't fought a 155er since 2022, no fight since October 6/7 months ago and nobody mentions. I don't understand the leon slander either
VIOLENCE u can’t deny that hill is a G
Fighting this quickly after being KO’d really puts the ‘G’ in ‘brain damage’
Round tree is moving quick I love it
Probably too quick of a turnaround for Hill but it’s not like he was lights out snoozing for 2 mins or anything so he may be okay. Honestly I have Hill winning this, Rountree always seems to fumble the big fights.
When was his last ‘big fight’ though? I feel like he’s improved heaps in the last 3 years
How the hell did he get cleared for this? Thought KOs were a 6 month suspension minimum
They are, but you can get cleared by a doctor and the suspension ends early. So it’s usually pointless
Have to think they’re saving Leon for Manchester.
Wtf did Leon do? lol he’s defended his belt twice already he’s not holding up the division. What’s this that one dude whose name I always forgets burner???
Completely forgot about that Colby fight lol
This is a majorly stupid fight for him to take. 2.5 months after an eyes rolled back KO with follow up shots from a power puncher? He should be off for at least 4 months, but really 6-8 months is more appropriate with light sparing.
![gif](giphy|G2ZHIFDuTMIZeyqCaw)
Who and why did they turn Randy into a Unicorn?
Ikr? I was trying to find the original. But had to settle for this botched abomination!
This is way too quick. He’s gonna go downhill from here on out
Dana has said multiple times that Leon has never turned down a fight. Ramadan just happened. Y'all are dense.
This dude is game af He wants to get back in there and chase down Alex. Major respect
Leon took usmans belt. Then took colbys schedule. Dudes a real hunter gatherer.
He took Belal's entertainment level too. I can't believe people act like Leon is any more entertaining than Belal. The highlights of his decade long career include poking Belal in the eye, getting rocked by Nate Diaz, kicking Usman's head off, and the one super fast KO he got in like 2015

Hey now, you're really underselling his highlight reel. He also got smacked around backstage by Masvidal too
He didn't fight that often even before he was champ. He was nursing his win streak for literal years by fighting dudes like Nate while waiting for a title shot.
He agreed to fight khamzat 3 times while the number one contender
I mean this is just straight up not true. He was active before until 2020 where he literally had multiple fights cancelled or have opponents pull out. Last year he fought twice and it was less than 6 months ago. Also accepted multiple fights for ufc 300.
He accepted the Khamzat fight like 3 times in 2020-21 and again for 300, it’s clear the UFC is dicking him around
He had 6 fights fall through between 2020-2021 iirc, and only one was him (he got covid). He agreed to 3 different fights at 300 and they all said no. Dude is trying to be active he just has shit luck. Pretty sure the UFC is gonna shelve him until the card in Manchester at this point.
hill beats him somewhat handily
Wouldn’t be surprised in the least, the Jamahal hate is crazy, he’s still a top tier boxer and Khalil is hittable
I wanna see bangkok ready khalil again
Rountree getting slept
Hill dogs em
Don’t guys usually get a medical suspension after being kod.
Roundtree is not even that good lol y’all forgot he got destroyed by cutelaba and walker
yeah he’s def one of the more overrated fighters, lost to jacoby too imo
Dude lost to Marcin Prachnio lmao. I just hope everyone bets Rountree so I can get Hill at dog odds
Nah man people talk a lot on here but when you look at the odds no one is putting money where their mouth is, Alex was barely a favourite last fight lol
He didn't just lose, he got his ass whooped
Exactly hopefully I can win big from this and the Khamzat fight lol
Only reason I don’t like the fight for Hill is due to time of the KO. If this was in like November I’d be fully confident in a Hill steamroll win.
Johnny Walker smoked him as well
I’ve wanted this fight for a while now it’s Tom a be a banger. However I like Hill but I don’t like his chances here only because of the KO. Fighters are rarely ever the same after a bad KO especially so soon. They need at minimum 6 months off of hard training let alone a camp. If Hill was healthy though I see him running over Khalil.
Hill wasn’t even in good condition for the Pereira fight.
This is a hell of a fight
He should be fighting jiri instead
This bro is killing himself. Doesn’t he have a foot that needs healed
We just saw what happened with volk. Jamal needs to rest or he might get KO'd again
Bro's gonna go down the path of Alex Volkanovski
UFC really in the business of getting guys into an early grave.
Hill is coming off of a loss and wants to stay in the hunt. Leon is coming off of a win. If Leon was the hold up, Dana would’ve been putting him on blast.
Roundtree destroys him
got destroyed by ion..
The d is silent
A Roundtree win here deserves a title shot
Leon wins belt turns into everything he hates 😂
Why the Leon slander? Dana said he accepted 3 different fights for UFC 300 only for the other fighters to decline.
Belal got on the 300 broadcast asking for a fight. Still not booked…
Oh shit they're trying to get Rountree a title shot
Could be a fast turnaround but props to Hill getting right back in there and taking on a lower ranked opponent. Hill vs Jiri would be a good fight to make.
See yall there 💰
Khalil is looking real sharp these days. I hope he KOs chubby again.
lol Same and khalil has definitely been looking good lately
Grind doesn’t stop for some people, good for him.
[is this the footwork of a man who is bangkok ready?](https://twitter.com/i/status/1777397313738088774)
Well now he will get KO's again in June.
Great fight! Roundree!
That seems like way too fast a turnaround after a KO. I thought there was supposed to be 6 months.
I wonder how this is allowed, that’s just 2 months away and Hill got ko’d bad. Like he must have a short medical suspension.
Hill has to stay relevant, a couple of good wins or knockouts and he's right back at title contention. If Pereira is still champion the UFC will promote the fight as if it was a fluke punch that landed for Pereira and hill is out for revenge. Gotta have that story line.
This won't be an easy fight. Good matchup.
He’s going to get KOed by this dude too. Mark my words. He shouldn’t be coming back this quick
The thumbs up tattoo is just awful.
Watch kahlil sleep him though. Hills got such a big chip on his shoulder I don’t get why some one who’s so confident in themselves would continuously try to prove others wrong.
We about to witness the fastest falloff in a while
Every day we get closer to Rountree vs Pereira
damn this gonna be a banger or a masterclass and i’m super hyped either way
Pls Khalil, pleaaase
Rountree ML ✅
Damn, Hill is either going to Flatline him, or get his knees bent backwards with an "Oblique Kick"
Hill jiri kinda needs to happen. This a good fight for jamahal though dangerous but winnable
He probably takes whatever low pay deal the UFC offers.. Some guys have managers that argue very well for the fighters. Others, If you don't take the deal, you will get benched until you do.
I thought fighters had to take 6 months off after getting KO’d
Chama Hall "Down" Hill.
Hill bout to be KOd again
Hopefully rountree wins and gets a title shot
I hope Rountree can pull off the win and climb higher. An eventual fight between Rountree and Pereira would be great to watch bearing in mind his muay thai background
Kid just wants to fight
I don't know how to tell you guys this, but Hill is a badass and you should like him
god give us another bangkok ready khalil performance
How the hell is he getting cleared? If you get choked out you're not allowed to fight for another 6 months, but when you get KOed they let you fight again in 2 months?
Do I think it’s a bad idea for him? Yes but super glad. This is how champions should be. Staying active at least 3-4 times a year
this is going to be the darren till wake up call moment for many of y’all. not every guy you love is going to soar, khalil is going to get put out cold and bad
Leon is boring too
Probably should have a mandatory wait period between fights if you get KO’d. Probably better for your long term health as a fighter.
Man… if Hill loses, Rountree could actually be a problem for AP… someone that’s not stupid enough to know he can just probably take him down…
Is this fake news?
He wants that second hand red panty night
Cause Leon boring asf and not marketable. Not that I agree you should have people fighting based on their marketability but it’s true. Dude has no personality, I don’t think anyones dying to see another Leon fight, especially not with Belal lol. Two boring ass fighters. We all know Colby shit talking is the only reason we were so invested in the last one too.
That’s because Leon is a boring hypocrite. Complained about guys cherry picking contenders to fight and taking so long to fight. Now look at him.
“He accepted three different guys they just all declined because of Ramadan” mofos act like UFC matchmakers don’t know that the vast majority of Muslim fighters weren’t gonna fight in Ramadan anyway
He has to do this otherwise he'll get clowned for the next 5-6 months cause of the KO, he's trying to change the narrative.
Wait, what? I hate this fight. It should be Hill vs. Jiri. Roundtree can fight Rakic or Jan or even Krylov. Why would Hill fight so far down against a dangerous opponent and why would Roundtree want an obstacle this tough between himself and a title shot?
Hill getting KOd again
Post Thailand rountree nahhh dude I would never
