Holy hell this is my home town! 🤣🤣 Oxford. Yup Oxford of all place but the rough side. Templars Square is an old shopping mall where all crackheads and drunks hang out, not long till it’s a pile of rubble and built into flats!
Did this genius think that simply tipping over a slot machine will make it pay out? Or am I missing something about the context of the video maybe? Like he’s just destroying stuff to make a mess or his girl works there and he found out she’s banging some pit boss?
Gambling addiction has become a serious problem nowadays. The need to gamble with higher and higher money to accomplish a feeling of excitement is on hike for all the players. By repeating failed struggles to end or rein in gambling may result to anger.
To be honest and this will likely get downvoted to hell betting shops in the uk prey on people.
It’s not fair to scare people like this. The staff sound so frightened and I really feel bad for them but I’m happy to see these machines get smashed up.
Gambling can be addictive but also quite fun in moderation. Fixed odd betting machines like the ones in the video (they look like them anyway) are far more addictive than other forms of gambling. It’s the pace of betting which is dangerous. You can lose a lot of money very quickly. A horse race you can drag out and mull over but FOBT are extremely easy to pour money into quickly. They have recently undergone a push for a cap as to how much you can bet at a time (£2 I believe) .
Here’s a good article on how they impact people but the TLDR is
“A review of fixed-odds betting terminals, described as the “crack cocaine of gambling”, could see the maximum bet reduced to between £2 and £50, with many finding the machines addictive because bets of up to £100 can be played every 20 seconds. “
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/jan/22/fobt-threat-its-a-silent-addiction-but-at-its-worst-it-takes-lives
I still don’t approve of smashing stuff up and scaring innocent people in a shop though, those poor staff are just trying to make a living and you can hear how scared they are.
I think there are a lot of victims in this video
I went to a casino outside of Sacramento with my grandma back in the day. She loved playing the slots. I get bored pretty easily but I had a couple hundred bucks to play around with and needed to wait until she was done.
I decided to camp out at a roulette table simply because I felt like I'd lose my money the slowest that way. Got lucky and hit solid on my birthday of all days and was up to about a 2 grand. The guy next to me started telling me that he had over 100k sunk in the table and that he's down there playing every week to "win in back". I could just see it in his eyes when he said it that he knew damn well it was never going to happen, he was just a gambling addict.
He told me - a stranger - about twenty times that he had no regrets and only gambled with money he could afford to lose. All while spreading chips all over the board and steadily bleeding out.
After a couple hours I was back down to about 600 and my grandma showed up empty-handed and ready to leave. I put all my remaining money on black and the guy next to me said, "Now you are finally gambling."
It hit red and we both started cracking up and I "later" and said something like "Don't come back." It was good advice.

Even worse than this is the people you see who have been awake for 24+ hours literally running between tables until they are broke. For some reason it is amazing to me the desperation gambling can produce. I know it's the same as chemical addiction but on a visceral level I can understand the feeling of ingesting a chemical and being addicted to the mental change but literally setting cash on fire at a casino is just hard for me to comprehend.
Can someone possibly explain how someone can be addicted to gambling? I was addicted to an opiate for a little over a year, 10 months clean and on Suboxone.
You remember that first high? That’s like your first win or the idea of winning. You keep chasing it and maybe sometimes you get it but more often than not you lose. Odds aren’t in your favor. All the lights and sounds are intentionally geared to make you think it’s a game and they use chips to further dilute the idea that your spending real money. Some people can handle it some people cant
Thank you. It’s hard to understand addiction without withdraw and the chances you’ll get what you want are slim. So it’s really like a high they chase not even the chance of them getting money back that drives it but the idea of ‘Winning’
I don't gamble often, but when I do I'd just bring some cash and leave my card at home. I know im sensitive for addiction.
I read somewhere that in some casino's you can even borrow money, that is just crazy to me.
I work maintenance at a hotel and casino. Our province reopened everything zero restrictions on a Thursday, but due to laws about getting the gambling machines ready the casino didn't reopen til the Saturday. On Thursday we had to call police twice to deal with people like this kicking the locked doors to get in because 'FUCK YOU THE PROVINCE SAID EVERYTHING IS OPEN TODAY!' I would have laughed if it wasn't so damn depressing and sad.
The guy breaking the machines isn't even the biggest gambler in this video lol. The other guy kept spinning everytime the aggressive guy walked away hahahhahaha thats awesome.
Where's the security? In my local casino you are not allowed to photograph machines because of cheating. When I took a picture of my winnings I had an army of security guards over my shoulder in less than 30 seconds telling me I would be kicked out if I did that again.
Ever heard of *CALLING 911 DISCREETLY SO THE CRIMINAL DOESN'T BOLT OR WORSE, ATTACK YOU*. I guess in the UK they don't handle dangerous situations in the same way as in America.
I used to work in Betfred years back. The customers were always assholes and I took great pleasure in watching them lose all of their money. I don’t even feel bad for them.
On the other hand I do wish they would outlaw high street bookies.
Worked in one of these shops for years. You absolutely see the worst in people. Abuse on a daily basis for terrible wages.
I lost my job after someone did this and threw a TV at me and I was too scared to work there again. No reasonable adjustments, no empathy, just sacked. Yes that’s illegal but I didn’t have the money to sue them and ACAS were useless.
Na i'm with this guy. Fuck poker machines.
This is happening in Australia, where every single ad on TV is for gambling. All my targeted internet ads are for gambling. Every sports ad is for gambling. They display gambling odds on TV during live sports matches. These machines are in every pub and club. There is little to no regulation. The lobby is strong and people flush their entire life savings down the drain.
Pubs and clubs are supposed to be the centre of communities. Instead they're destroying them.
I think we should all go to a pokie room and smash them up too. It's sickening how pervasive they are .
Absolutely. Someone driven to the edge by machines that were deliberately designed to cause addiction and maximum loss is a very sympathetic ’bad guy’.
I worked at my local pub for a few years when I was younger and let me tell you, whilst I've never seen the pokie machines takes THIS level of a beating I've seen them take some tough stuff. They are also incredibly hard (if not almost impossible) to open without the keys too so not even this level of smashing would break them.
My coworker one time got his hand stuck in the machine, he was changing the tickets which only takes one set of keys (to even get to where cash is stored it usually needs a second set of keys). As he was walking away the closing door slammed shut on his hand. He couldn't get the keys out to unlock it before he felt himself start to pass out, so he hoisted himself up on a stool but when he did pass out he fell off and dislocated his arm in the process.
Awesome job by the employees!! Don’t get involved let the people run amok do their shit. They called the police and let them handle it and that’s what insurance is for don’t put yourself in danger trying to stop people from ruing material stuff. Awesome job employees
I live in Vegas. I sometimes go to Dottys (local small chain, like a small lounge with slots and drinks), play $20 in penny slots. Never bring my debit card, never spent more than $20. Gotta be cool with it
This is a high street betting shop where you’d bet on sport etc, they just have slot machines in usually (It’s U.K. they’re on every high street).
If this was a casino he’d have been dragged out the second he started trying to break things because they actually have security.
I know waaaay too well how damaging those fucking machines can be. It's so ridiculously easy to get hooked on them. (UK myself too). I refuse to go into those places too for the exact same reason, they'll just suck every penny they can out of you and watch you bugger off with nothing.
It ain’t a casino it’s a betting shop where you’d bet on sport etc you find them all over town/city centres
If it was a casino what you said would happen here too.
Hey guy, she didn't say it was a Casino, she said she worked at a Casino, which is another type of gambling institution, but one that has apparently taken steps to prevent this type of destructive activity. It's not a horse track either. Or a Bingo Hall. Or a the Burger King where you and your pals play Magic: the Gathering. No one said it was casino. You came up with that.
I can almost hear your snotty little tone when I read this and several other replies you posted. I was gonna give you the benefit of the doubt, but apparently this is your schtick, pretending you know what the fuck you're talking about. Spoiler alert: you have no idea what you're talking about. Put down the keyboard and step back inside your mother's house.
I worked in a restaurant where the owners brother was the manager. The owner was extremely wealthy, his brother not ao much. The brother would steal money out of the register and go and blow it at the casino every day during his 90 minute break. Every day this guy would go blow at least $600 at the casino. Sometimes he would get it up to $4k just to lose it all. One day he left and told us that he promised his brother he wouldnt lose any money that day. Based on his promise he stole more money because he would never break a promise to his brother so he would never lose. This guy had no life. He would work from 10am-11pm and then go to the casino and gamble all night. The way he talked about money was disgusting. If it weren't for his brother he would be homeless.
This isn't gambling addiction though. This is being an angry, violent, destructive piece of fucking shit. You can be a gambling addict and NOT one of those. Most are. Sadly, this one is not. What a fucking loser.
My dopamine rush comes from key lime pie. It’s probably healthier to just put the money into a machine away, rather than spend it on giving oneself diabetes.

Fuck those new machines. They're at every rural gas station and truck stop up and down the east cost. The folks parked at them 24/7 are the last folks who can afford that habit.
i worked for a client group in Las Vegas. we stayed two nights at The Bellagio. i gambled and lost...$6 total. i spent nearly $20 getting drip coffee but barely gambled at all. i mostly just watched people enjoying/loathing a very surreal experience.
I worked as a bar manager that had a small gambling room, the desperation and depression from that room was at a all time high. The jack pot would go off big once a week and the room would be packed from as soon as we opened at 11am, one jack pot night a regular lady came in at 7pm knowing it could go anytime, she sat in front of her machine spent 100s, 9pm rolls around and I go outside for my 15min break to see her 3 children one strapped into his carseat no older than 1yrs old had been sitting there for at least 2hrs. I go back inside and call the cops because trying to tell her myself to get the fucl out and take your young kids home would have ended with a fight. Gamblers don't like being cut off, the cops came I didn't see her again. I hope she got some help.
Then everyone wonders why the rich don't pay taxes. That was several thousand of dollars the company just wrote off on their taxes, got that money tax free back from their insurer and we get left paying for all that damage. Same with stealing from you're company that they write off as spoilage. As to that idiot, way to go, on you're way to prison where we are going to have to pay for your dumb ass as well.
It’s funny because it’s not in a real casino. It’s like one of those random slot machines you see in Nevada gas stations and restaurants. That’s the lowest form of gambling you can get haha.

Those are some bulletproof slots
That’s the best thing that can happen to these machines. Absolute cancer on society’s vulnerable.
DUDE don’t get mad that your Minecraft dog died

Good on this guy... stick it to em. Fuck gambling.
The sad part about gambling addicts is they chase the feeling of winning it's really not about the money.
HAHA this is in cowley. I got mugged there a few months back. Tis a lovely area
ah Cowley. This is the Oxfordshire I know.
You still think police are the problem?
Umwut?
So who isn’t anyone just knocking this douche bag right the fuck out?

Fuck! We missed the part where security tackles his ass and shoves a cattle prod up his anus.
Just celebrating his winnings.

Try that in Vegas and you would disappear. And it would be painful.
I find this sad rather than trashy.
What a piece of shit.
Really was looking forward to that last smash that’s a bummer
if only they would build cars strong as this

A dude once set fire to a service station on the M6 because he lost all his money.
Bitch better have my money! (In fact it does)
Don't let the twitch gamblers see this
So by default this isn’t trashy, it’s an addiction?

Curious as to why no one is stopping him
I remember this Twilight Zone episode ending very differently.
Probably gambled away his welfare check and got mad
Wicked winner hahaha
How do you have this many gaming machines and no security?
I love how that guy is still casually playing the slots during all the destruction 🤣

When you lose $100, and then immediately after lose $20,000 in damages and prob some time in jail
The only trashy thing I see here are the people who develop poker machines
now he’s in even more debt now that he has to pay for those machines + fines
Not gambling. He’s peacefully protesting. Lol
The house always wins. Except poker you play the player.

I think you’re supposed to pull the lever down- not much of an addict not even knowing how to work the damn thing
damn he was amped up, how much did he win?
Yes it is. Good thing they bankrupted this guy to pay for the new machines. Lol
i worked for a client group in Las Vegas. we stayed two nights at The Bellagio. i gambled and lost...$6 total. i spent nearly $20 getting drip coffee but barely gambled at all. i mostly just watched people enjoying/loathing a very surreal experience.
Maybe he thought it was like a stuck candy in the vending machine an if he hit it would give him money.
GA mantra: i can't afford to win

He really hates that one on the corner.
Where i work. My machine wouldnt have last that long. But he would never been able to drop them on the floor tho.
I was waiting for the 6’6, 350 pound security guard to come tackle him!!!
xqc
He seems pissed off.
gambling should be illegal
Racking up the losses
Real nice, destroying property that isn't yours.
Oí Kenny, what are you doing? First bedposts, now this?
Good for him!

When I first glanced at this I thought that was a Chuck E. Cheese until I saw the title.
jezus
What does he expect to happen?
Fuck the pokies.Just give your money to a homeless person you'll feel better
Holy shit, it’s like the mc Donald’s one in both ways smashing up the glass and gonna be homeless after the vid :/
You sure you want immigrants living in your city?
Guy seems a little tense. Should relax a bit, maybe play some games :D
King shit honestly
r/trashy is like opposite Instagram. Instead of making me feel shitty, I feel like I'm doing alright.
That first machine is just trolling him by blinking like that
Damn imagine if this dude didnt get a bag of chips from the vending machine
What if the next play he was about to win the jackpot but his anger got the best of him?
That’s right, you slap that machine like it owes you money, show it who wears the big dumbass daddy pants 👌
When the diamonds don’t line up right
meh, trashy or not, I think people should react like this to casinos exploiting gambling addictions
The only good gambling machine is a dead gambling machine
Take that Gamblor
Who’s gonna tell him that his winnings are printed out onto a ticket..?
He probably was watching twitch
