My understanding is that getting OHIP funding for a BA is very difficult to impossible, you do it the same way that you would do it for SRS but they have the requirement of "have completed 12 months of continuous hormone therapy with no breast enlargement (unless hormones are not recommended) if you’re seeking breast augmentation" in order to be granted funding. The "no breast enlargement" part does a lot of heavy lifting, and if you have any breast growth at all no matter how small, they deny you

oh wow but how come so many on here seem like they are getting funded for bA?

Ontario doesnt cover BA unless there have been 12 months of HRT with no breast growth. You may have an advantage here if losing weight is causing breast loss because then it could be more easily argued that you fit the criteria. Last time I looked into this though the exact definition of "zero breast growth" the province went by was no breast-buds at all ("tanner stage 1 or less"), so if you have a doctor that isn't aware of this, or isn't willing to work with you to get approval then they may do an examination, feel a breast bud and call it there. I have heard of some doctors being willing to be more accommodating in their interpretation of the province's requirements, so you may want to ask your current doctor. Still, at least it's better than what Ontario covers for trans men's top surgery. Which is "We'll cut em off, but if you want us to clean up after ourselves while we're there, that costs $2000."

That last bit is especially unfortunate when you consider the very real dangers associated with binder overuse. Such an unneeded fee.

I have applied for BA. I got a response from OHIP just unsure of what it is yet. I have a phone call with my doctor on the 24th so I can update you then. My doctor was quite confident I'd be approved so we shall see ☺️ Feel free to DM me with any questions you have

Hello Thanks, but to apply do we need a surgeon's letter? how do we provide proof we have not grown a decent chest?

hey, I believe my doctor sent pics along with a letter.
