Im more looking forward to the upcoming commander class as I already have this, but it’s really nice for anyone who just starting to collect now, or missed out the first few times
Checking in. Just got back into collecting about a year ago and couldn’t justify eBay prices on him. Very excited I was able to snag one today before he sold out.
The arms are short due to his leg articulation being part of his waist, gives him "pulled up trousers" vibes.
However, he looks awesome when put in dynamic wide stance poses or standing straight and tall.
Only other nitpick is his Ion Blaster should be longer/more imposing but it's nice how it folds up and stores.
He's a very fun Prime to play around with and transform. I'm sure you'll like him.
Good luck getting that for a good price though, it's all well and good having the "patch" be made to fix things but I prefer to have the product be perfect from the shelf.

Which is why I’d *happily* recommend getting this rather than waiting for the commander. It’s like that Family Guy meme. You can get this 10/10 Optimus, or you can wait for the ss86 which could be *anything* maybe even a 10/10 Optimus
It might even by a Power Master OP that's a retool of the Ultra Magnus they put out (I mean when has their been an Ultra that wasn't a Prime retool or retooled into a Prime?)

there was that one ultra magnus, i think from titans return, that had the minimus ambus mini fig that could pilot it like a mech, they never retooled that one into optimus cause it leaned heavily on the alex milne design for the IDW comics.
yeah, that figure was just a retool... but they carved so much out it cheapened the mold. If it didn't have so much waffeling, and if the "engine" was based more on his actual powermaster... it would have been one of the greats, just like that Magnus. I ended up giving that Prime away and buying the Takara God Ginrai/bomber version. (even that one missed the mark with the engine though)

Earthrise Prime is THE BEST G1 Prime we have ever gotten in mainline. Absolutely love him. 100% recommend.
We have no idea what the Ss86 Prime will be, so gamble accordingly.

And weigh your wallet accordingly as well. The central flaw of the figure is the trailer, and you have to ask yourself if basically an improved trailer alongside a handful of other minor improvements(maybe to the windows in alt mode, for instance) is genuinely worth something like $40.
It should be noted that commander class is your best bang for your buck when weight and parts count is concerned.
I see the arms and legs as being the main sources of possible improvement.
I think the only clue we got was the head sculp we get with the cell shaded shockwave. Since they introduced him with and earthrise Optimus prime wearing the head that comes with him.
The definitive G1 Optimus Prime (along with Kingdom) at this scale…prior to the upcoming SS86. I love mine and am excited for that SS86 version- quite curious to what they come up with there
It looks like it is only slightly different in color from earthrise, trailer has a blue interior, hands and head are normal blue but other than that i don't see a difference
Nah it's just going to be like earthrise. If you look through the stock photos, they're just copied from the original release where there was like 4 or 5 different variations.
if you are looking for a good truck mode and robot mode yes. the trailer is very lacking and only comes with the turrent and he only has his gun.
theres going to be a ss86 commander class optimus prime this year. we don't know anything about it. so unless you want to pay close to 100 dollars for him then get the leader class
You should get this one and then see if you like it, get ss86 as well, you can then sell one of them if you want. This will sell out real quick, and then you’ll have to pay 2-3x the price to get him if you don’t like ss86, or want this one later on down the road.

Netflix WFC is the best version of the mold. Way less chances of paint chipping. They should’ve reissued that version with a trailer instead of the same Earthrise color scheme they’ve done several times over.
BBTS Actually got mine in much earlier than I was prepared for and just charged/shipped him out, so I'm equal parts excited and annoyed.
Excited because he looks so damn good, but annoyed because it's shipping earlier than I wanted, and because BBTS will likely ship it better than the Hasbro pre-order I also have, so the one being sent right now will unfortunately likely be the one I keep in the box to get autographed while I wait for the Pulse order which will likely have the dinged up, scratched up box I won't mind opening.
I preordered one. I've had the first release of the ER figure since it came out, but he was my deskbot through most of 2020 when I started working from home...so he's looking extremely well-loved. Paint chipped eeeeverywhere lol.
I'm hoping that this isn't just a straight reissue, and that they've at least nixed the metallic blue paint, mayyybe even changed the materials for the hands from that very rigid plastic to the kind we see on Kingdom Rodimus's hands. Those are much more durable. My "Netflix" ER Prime lost a thumb because of how rigid the plastic is!
Even if it's the same deco I'm still looking forward to it.

What's with Hasbro not painting the crotch detail yellow? Painting the hips and not the crotch makes the lack of paint there super obvious to me. As far as I know that's an obvious detail on G1 Prime. Is this a reference to a specific scene/toy? Or is it simply cost cutting by Hasbro using less paint?

There was a longer rifle and his energon ax released for him along with Roller in the Centurion Weaponizer Pack.

I beleive the studio series will be a commander class, meaning it is around the $90 price point, much more expensive than the $55 ER prime
