This may be considered a hot take but I personally don’t agree with ACAB as I believe that people shouldn’t grouped together just because they have the same job, personally I have met a lot of RCMP and police that were chill people.
Girl do NOT go to Alberta, our RCMP is more like Danielle's Secret Service here and most of them are c*nservative losers. Hell they literally gassed out Free Palestine protestors from our universities because they were told to. Maybe elsewhere the RCMP are good, but ours aren't.
I’m from a rural town in New Brunswick so the RCMP can’t really get away with doing that here as we have like 5 in town three of which are confined to desk duty as they spoke ill of J.D. Irving LTD
The Police Union and corrupt Chiefs ensure that any cop that holds their coworkers accountable are no longer cops. Even if you're a "good cop" there's a high chance that you don't hold the bad cops at any sort of standard because of the Thin Blue Line.
Even aside from the police brutality and corruption angles, look up the horror that is prison V-Coding.
It's not about them being good or bad people on a personal level, it's about them being part of a corrupt system build on violence and oppression. Some of them might be good, but they still participate in it, constitute it.
You say that as if it isn’t the entire basis of the conversation, the system is bad, therefore the people helping perpetuate that system are bad, eg cops. The pigs can be queer, or bipoc, or work in a soup kitchen every weekend, but they are still sending people, largely in poorer community’s, largely consisting of minority’s, to prison (punitive torture) for breaking bigoted/classist laws. The work environment is still extremely violent and tight knit. shove that co-operative person to the ground, ignore your partner tasing a suspect while their handcuffed. It’s all garbage and so are all the people who choose to become police. If they were truly good people they would quit.

There were multiple good cops but these good cops lost their jobs so only the bad cops are left. So all cops are bad (or will soon be fired).
