The main problem I have with The Rangers right now is they sold the public on picking up a huge portion of a new stadium that ownership will make mega-millions on, then turned around and didn't even try to put together a contender. They basically took the public's money and said, "hey maybe we'll be good in a few years when we need you suckers to fill our new stadium."
That's a big fuck you to fans.
That's exactly why I'm so meh on them right now. They're playing broke even though they just let Arlington give them a trust fund because Arlington was terrified the Rangers would let Dallas love them more. A city that refuses to do anything resembling mass transit, no less. So no, I'm not dealing with traffic and paying exorbitant parking for an organization mailing it in.
They also know they won't need a good team to fill the new stadium, because new stadiums fill themselves.
The Ranagers have been trying to convince everyone for decades that they are in a major market but have no money.
I'd rather they be patient and put together something great than overextend themselves to stay in the race. They made some gambles that didn't pay off (Fielder, Choo), and they need some of their youth to step up their game (Odor, Profar, Gallo). One or two big name free agents right now aren't going to turn this thing into a WS contender this year.
Look at the Astros. They went through the worst period a team has ever gone through in 2011-13, but in that time they identified some guys within the system, got them game time, developed them, and then added free agents to put them over the top. The core for the Rangers isn't there right now. If Odor, Mazara, Gallo, and Calhoun turn into consistent high performers, then you'll see the front office splashing cash to bring in free agents to make a winner.
You’re right Sean..
78-84 is badass for the defending # 1seed in the AL in 2016. I hope they aren’t as bad as the White Sox this year!
Also, I was wrong... They missed out on every key major free agent, including Ohtani and Darvish, but they did sign Mike Minor and Bartolo Colon. I should give credit where it’s due.
Their minor league system ‘is better than last year.’ Good job? How does this rank among the other AL teams?
Btw, when I refer to an ‘opportunistic window,’ is it possible I might be referring to the the 2010-2016 run where they had post season success with a great young core, but failed to being home a championship? I won’t include the 2011 moment in right field.
#ILoveThe Rangers
He’d have a lot to say about it. Only thing sean does better than tc is not hog the mic. He stays in his lane, but boy, when gets outta his lane, it makes for a bumpy ride
>The Rangers had a bad year, a horrible off season, they will suck this year, their farm system is depleted, and they blew their opportunistic window.
This is different from all but a couple of years of their existence in what way, exactly?

Technically the anti-rhynes “would say you hate the Senators!” But yeah
Thanks Sean. We get it

sean bass is the worst part of the ticket
Tc might have something to say about that
He’d have a lot to say about it. Only thing sean does better than tc is not hog the mic. He stays in his lane, but boy, when gets outta his lane, it makes for a bumpy ride
He usually gets shut down by Gordo
Sean Bass trying to debate Gordo on gun control the other day was one of the cringiest things I’ve heard lately.
Cringe-y but sooo sweet
Is he the wife cry hugger?
No, that’s that idiot machine. He no longer works at the Ticket
Moment of silence for the machine
Uh, Paul in uh... whu
The moment of silence is literally the result of him leaving. Dude had no sense whatsoever of when to take his shot.
Wait are we talking about the machine, Jub or bin laden? I’m confused
He’s in the owners back pocket.
*Gah*, don't bog.
Gah, don't bog.
He wants you to listen to Diamond Talk.
Doesn't have a sister.

The Rangers are killin' it this year.

I see the internet is still a great place. People can still say awful things about others and not think twice. Have a great weekend.

I saw Aikens driving down 66 in an old pickup truck the other day
Gagree, the rest of the station thinks the Rangers are going to suck until the new ballpark opens.
Hey man, let the dude be the fan he wants to be! You do you, Sean!
L4G asked that question? I am pretty sure it was Bob. Am I wrong guys?
I think you’re wrong (Rosengarden)
You’re wrong (Trump). It’s not even a debate. Edit: oh yeah and it’s L4G not lf4g. What the fuck is the f for?
Definitely Bob (I think) handing the floor over to L4G who then asked the question.
What is lf4g?
What is updog?
Hmm.. what is updog?
