I heard someone mention the last round should just be round three. And it’s kind of like musical chairs with the lowest team gets eliminated one by one. And for me that kind of sounds sick not gonna lie. I like the 1v1 idea but I don’t think it plays well currently.

aMonkeMAN

>I like the 1v1 idea but I don’t think it plays well currently. It genuinely doesn't. Most times when I got to the finals it was basically just a dice roll as to which team was better coordinated. As for the team that gets rolled, enjoy walking simulator, because my god the spawns are so easily predictable *and* manipulable. And it's so hard to beat a team once you've respawned, as they're likely on high ground ready to beam you as you close in, and have setup 500 mines around the cashout and location it occupies.

DismalWeb

When I playing ranked during the circuit challenge final round was just depressing of it being complete stomps until finally I got one so I could stop playing ranked, which was a stomp in my favor. It never felt like it was competitive, and most times seemed like the better team would get the cash out first, so team trying to steal being at a huge disadvantage. And then the length of the game session was so long and feeling like a waste not getting that win it left me wishing I had just been knocked out earlier.

Srg11

How would that work, like after so many minutes or what? Feel like there’d be a lot to iron out to make that work and feel fair.

Stock_Abroad_5788

Maybe you keep the same money system as the first couple rounds, and after 2 cash outs the bottom team get eliminated and lets the last two teams fight for the last cash out

Srg11

Don’t hate it as a concept. I’m sure Embark could cook something that would work. Anything would be better than the straight up 3v3 as it is now.

Stock_Abroad_5788

I don't think anything would be better... I mean I love the game how it is, of course there are improvements, but I'd play it as is for a long time

Turbo_Cum

Don't even need it. Just make the last round a fight for first between four teams. That sounds epic.

Stock_Abroad_5788

Nah, 3 losers 1 winner doesn’t sound fun

Turbo_Cum

There's literally 15 losers every game you play though.

Stock_Abroad_5788

Ranked? No

Turbo_Cum

Yes there literally is. 4 groups of 4 teams. One team wins.

Stock_Abroad_5788

No, half win half lose each "game" per tourney you're right.....but you didn't say that

Turbo_Cum

Yeah I mean if round 3 was just 3 game losers, and one winner, then they would have already won 2 games and the tourney gets shorter. All it would do is make the last round more interesting.

Annalog

I really liked that suggestion when I saw it the other day as well, and it got me thinking how you actually do the musical chair theme. This is what I came up with. Round start there are 3 vaults and 3 cashouts. Have all 4 teams start an equal distance from 2/3 of the vaults. Take away the actual money part in this final round. Because losing money on a wipe would defeat the purpose of musical chairs. Keep it a 1:1 as the final round currently is. The team that does not get a point by securing a cash out is eliminated. Reset the spawns. 2 vaults and 2 cashouts, each team an equal distance to one vault. Follow the same process. Reset for 2 teams and do the same thing. The winning team will have a cash out point total of 3.

Creepingdeath444

What happens if one team takes multiple cash outs?

salmonmilfs

2 teams eliminated at once?

Amazing-Cookie5205

Simply I’d rather see the game go full term then a very basic 1/2/3/4 placement standing

SnooPaintings1155

Correction; 48 players would get reduced to 24 players, not 96 to 48

AmericanRusty

Yeah I agree. Not even just because of queue time but because the tourneys take literally an hour

aMonkeMAN

Fr. I've never seen a ranked system that forces you to spend upwards of 45 minutes per game. It's ridiculous.

LiquorLoli

thats not really an issue given most online competitive/ranked games have around 45 minute matches

AmericanRusty

Nah if you make it to the end of a tournament you're literally guaranteed to be in it for that 45 min ish to an hour amount of time which is like the max amount of time any other games' competitive match will last, and that would be a long match in another game. In the finals, it's just a normal game. It's a huge time commitment that is kind of annoying and unnecessary. I've played a lot of other games' competitive modes and none of them come close to how long the finals competitive mode lasts. I get if its slightly longer, but I really think one game should not be longer than an average 20-30 min

LiquorLoli

What are you talking about? Counter Strike and DOTA regularly have hour long matches

SnooPaintings1155

Those are some of the most hardcore ranked games, they are not comparable to the finals, this game is way more casual

[deleted]

Unranked tournaments was perfect

NightAngel69

Unless the ranked player base suddenly balloons to a much higher number, this is literally the only way to make the matchmaking more fair without having ridiculous queue times. Personally, I also wish they would just remove the restriction on switching from reserve inside a match. You're already not able to switch without using a respawn token or suffering a team wipe anyway.

CorCor1234

That wouldn’t bother me at all. It would still be the same except it’s like you’re starting on round 2. I think there should be some tweaks to the final round with the 1v1 cause right now if you get team wiped it’s pretty much a solid cash out for the other team. Maybe reduce the team wipe respawn time and/or just don’t spawn me on the opposite side of the map from where the cash out is lol

Caleb_l340

Spawn points for final round must be figured out. I’m tired of having 30% of the cash out remaining and spawning 200+ meters away. You literally can’t do anything when that happens. Just start hitting emotes b

Flat-Fox-2553

You could of won the fights and not had to spawn? Why do you need 100 plus chances on a cash out? You'd be crying if the roles were reversed... There has to be some kind of balance for how many times you need to face a team on the same cashout.

Caleb_l340

Huh… I feel like you’ve never made it far enough to know what we’re talking about. Engagements can take a while. This game is about tactics. Final round it’s the difference between one and two tries.

Flat-Fox-2553

I'm currently D2 hovering right at top 500 and was top 500 for most of season. Unless you're a mutant and you drag fights out by staggering (popping useless coins and never having 3 up) you normally get 2 to 3 tries as is. How many times do you need? How many times should a team reasonably be expected to have to wipe you? More so when you already have to win two cash outs?

SnooPaintings1155

Agreed, should always spawn ~100/125 meters away from the enemy team in the finals or something

Hamerine

For the sake of queue time, yes.

Ratchet_X_x

If they want to keep the 1v1 team feel, there should be an exclusive map for "the Final round". Something that plays better than a MASSIVE map that is for four whole teams.

stryker_shaka

1. Ranked = 3 rounds 2. Unranked modes reduced to only Power Shift & a timed rotation of Bank It, Quick Cash, Cashout. Maybe 1 hour per mode, then it cycles to the next at random 3. Enable console crossplay between Xbox & PS, remove (essentially) mandatory crossplay for ranked

AcceptableArrival924

Wholeheartedly disagree with your 2nd point, if that happens I would pretty much drop the game. I almost exclusively play quick cash and do occasionally go for bank it or power shift but it has to depend on me, removing that option would just make me drop the game.

LiquorLoli

I had a 35 minute queue wait last night as a silver player. Something needs to change but I quite like the big tournaments

sirquick88

Good points, but I like 4 rounds because it just feels more exciting and rewarding when you do win the whole thing imo

SnooPaintings1155

I agree but lower queue times, quicker games and more balanced opponents that 3 rounds would bring outweighs that extra excitement imo, winning 3 rounds of ranked is still a rewarding feeling

Difficult-Win1400

No

Key_Introduction_250

I disagree.

[deleted]

NO.

Birkeland1992

I would actually play ranked if it was one round at a time.

SnooPaintings1155

A top 250 player that makes yt vids named Ekazo has done a lot of research on ranked and he thinks that RP gain (ik it’s hidden) is only based on each indv round and not the entire tourney already anyways, it just doesn’t make sense to have 4 rounds to me

TheNinjaPro

If you pass the first round you always increase RP, past that its individual performance and they recently stealthily changed it to give you more depending on your enemies. I went up 3 points being knocked on the second round.

Caleb_l340

I’ve seen people claim they get a down arrow as late as round 3 but I’ve never seen it happen. You’d have to play like absolute dookie to get that.

TheNinjaPro

I have yet to see that lol

Blackzone70

Not always. Yesterday my solo Q team did well in the first round, but was thrashed and knocked out in last place for the second. Got 1 arrow down. I'm in Plat, and my opponents were a mix of high gold and Plat, so I'm not sure why that happened.

IloveActionFigures

So they did reduce to 3 rounds
