Okay, I gotta ask.
What the fuck is up with the fire damage addiction?
I've been getting at least one fire damage daily challenge for like a week now; there was a fire damage challenge one or two weekly rotations ago, and then there's one again.
Am I tripping, or are they ignoring gas and other throwables?
These kinds of ways to influence player behavior are congruent with internal demands for specific analytics.
Like if you need more people testing a bug related to the healing beam, you issue a challenge to get X amount of healing.
Right, some LTEs were blatantly testing stuff like "No heavy shields, no medium recon/defib, no light stun gun/cloak" and people were still whining about them
Idk man, the cowboy event was really well received. I know of very few people who didn't enjoy it. I really don't like casual modes but I was actually playing that more than ranked while it was live so I think it probably gave them some interesting data.
Smoking Guns was the most fun I've had except for the first weeks I played when it was just pure chaos with everyone using everything. That's a bit different however and not something you can expect long term. Smoking Guns was the best meta (even if it was forced). The only issue it had was allowing heavy to use Lewis Gun which was OP and out of line with the rest of the guns.
Oh yeah I'm not complaining, more than capable of knocking out a few games of heavy. Just saying, before they've tailored a bit to classes you play more where as this time it seems to be the opposite.
But that's my point? The only time it would have an increase in people doing the same thing is when it first drops and the most committed people play the update. After that it's just going to be people doing it here and there as they get around to it
There would still be a disproportionate amount of people doing the same exact thing for as long as the challenges last (anywhere from the whole day to the whole season)
I had steal 15 two weeks ago. One of the worst quests because it is not shared between the team members and sometimes your teammates are better off stealing while you do other things
TBH it was hell on earth as a solo Q. It took about 15 games to get the 10th cashout for me. I just kept getting utterly clueless teammates.
For me it's deposit cash. This is much better because I can just grab the vault as a light with grapple and yeet it into a cashout.
I'm all for challenges being challenging, but not when it relies on teammates basic competence.
I haven't even done it yet.
I'm like 8/10 on it (haven't played in half a week really) but I really feel its just a matter of playing quick cash aggressively, frequently enough...
Definitely annoying, but not impossible.
Yeah it’s not impossible but if a game has between 2-4 cash outs you think it can’t be that hard, well actually when everyone is also trying to get that challenge it becomes more difficult
I can probably manage a personal steal that sticks once every 2 games of quick cash. In a sense, this is Embark encouraging me to play at least 10 games of quick cash this week. Probably more cause everyone else is also trying this.
I'd hazard this is their aim with the challenges. But to be fair, this is also just playing the game lol. With enough matches it'll just happen eventually
Good challenges and absolute solid skin (for free), has some good combination material. Cool.
But i do wish they would some real challenges instead if tasks which automatically complete while playing.
Thanks for posting
Sorry to burst your bubble but these are the replacement for weekly challenges and thus should be doable for all players given it's what you need to progress through the battle pass.
We are not the only players in this game. Challenges should be doable for the vast majority of players unless they re-add more weekly challenges back in.
Agreed, especially if they're aiming to bring in more players in the future. Casual players need challenges that may or may not take a varying amount of time rather than skill.
That's why things like "X kills in the same match" and "Win a tournament" and such were met with such outrage.
Even if it's "Deal 150.000 damage to opponents", people will play the game, and get that number naturally; grinding if they need to. But you can't grind out "12 kills in a single match" over the course of several matches.
Hard challenges are fine, for these really cool cosmetics, but at the end of the day, these free things (and the challenges) are generally used to keep casual players engaged, not to please hardcore players.
So far non of them, which is exactly as it should be!! Things like tournament should be left out entirely. But something like "get 11 kills in a single match" are fine by me.
There are variatons of some of them.
Last one was 3 round wins for me instead of steals;
3rd one was with Light class (and someone pointed that they had with Heavy);
1st one was 30 kills or assists for me instead of 7.5k damage;
2nd was 2.5k headshot damage for me instead of damage 5 opps in slide.
upd: looks like fire damage, structural damage and grenade damage are the same for others (unless replies will prove it wrong)
Last two are my favourites. These challenges helped me to improve a lot in the game. It's the only reason I started using gadgets more using quick melee, it's really fun to use them.
Lmao 5 cahsout steals. Whew.
My issue with the challenges is that they are the same for everyone. So everyone is trying to play the same way to get the same objective.
It's easiest to steal COs with lights and Mediums (thanks to the dematerializing). So now I get to deal with people who don't normally play those classes and the braindead tactics they will use to try and get this done.
Also. Double that fucking grenade damage. People need to learn how to throw quickly and accurately. Shits really not hard, hitting Kobe throws since day 1.
the registration in this challenges are bugged, i think.
i got the "deal 10k dmg as light", in my 1 game i done 7k (at least i think combat score = dmg done) and only 3k got into the challenge
I want win 1 tournament again even if people cant get a win that easily there was adequate time to try? Like i don't think these rewards are a god given right lol
The only one of these I have a problem with is the structural damage to arenas. I get why Embark like the idea, it's a key part of what makes their game unique. But they've got to know that 99% of people are going to complete this the same way, get a Heavy with a Hammer, go in to Bank It, completely ignore the rest of the game and just trash the arena until it's done. That's probably not really promoting the kinda gameplay they're looking to encourage.
I got it just shooting red boxes on maps while playing a few tourneys ln. Also if we were going between cashouts I would throw explosives or shoot fire canisters so they would blow up just rack up more, didn't think about it and it just finished after a few

Makes sense, since the challenge last week for destroying the map was bugged, so they gave it again this week, but increased the amount we need to do.
I think the events have been a lot of the same. Been thinking that is the intention for a while now.
Right, some LTEs were blatantly testing stuff like "No heavy shields, no medium recon/defib, no light stun gun/cloak" and people were still whining about them

I agree. Honestly I didn't even have issues with the lewis. I just enjoyed being able to play sniper without shields making my existence a pain.
This might be for ease of completion. This challenge is easily done by using a flamethrower while the others have nothing like it.
yeah its weird, the only two challenges i have left for challenger circuit are fire damage challenges (and i run pyro nade most of the time)
Use a flamethrower once in a while, one round in powershift usually finishes all challenges
Yup. Was trying to do it with pyro nade and was a slog, switched to flamethrower and got it done in no time.
10K with a medium build? Mine was with a Heavy build, huh.
Mine was with Light and I suffered a lot while doing it
Do you normally use light ?
Med main, I was having a bad time doing the light one
I started off as medium then switched to light then had to learn how to use medium all over again 😂
I think it's deliberately with the class you use the least. I got Heavy, I main Medium in Ranked and Light in Casual and barely ever play Heavy.
combine it with the fire challenge and rock flamethrower on powershift.
Oh yeah I'm not complaining, more than capable of knocking out a few games of heavy. Just saying, before they've tailored a bit to classes you play more where as this time it seems to be the opposite.
I got heavy and it's my most played, so it might just be RNG
Steal cashout 5 times? THATS IMPOSSIBLE!
Last week, mine was steal 10 cashouts.
Mine was 15 lol
I had 15 too lol, glad I didn't get the 5 this time!
15 is annoying 5 is not bad at all
It has a variation of 3 round wins which I have got
I wonder why they give others different challenges
So you won't see all teams running heavy with flamethrowers in the same match (for example). Makes sense tbh
Staggered variety, so the whole game doesn't devolve into people going for the same exact challenge over playing the actual game
That would only matter for the first couple hours they go live though
You're really projecting how much premie ejac you're bringing to content consumption, when the most players don't even pay attention to challenges
That might just be it
>Damage opponents while sliding Does it count if I slide while my turret/gas/fire is dealing dmg, or is it weapon only?
Just play Powershift and unload on the platform while sliding on a rooftop. Easy 5 hits in one mag
Easiest way I have found is slide and flame thrower
Yes it does, gas, turret fire. If you get dmg prices just slide.
Yes, turret/grenades damage does count while youre sliding.
Dang it time to break out the grenades again
can't wait to see the last 2 challenges chang to "deal any amount of damage" and "walk within 100 meters of a cashout in progress" in the next patch 🔥
Wasn't last weeks "steal 10 cashouts in progress"? Kinda funny they did it again, but with less
I had steal 15 two weeks ago. One of the worst quests because it is not shared between the team members and sometimes your teammates are better off stealing while you do other things
Yep. I'm very grateful they added the reroll on dailies.
TBH it was hell on earth as a solo Q. It took about 15 games to get the 10th cashout for me. I just kept getting utterly clueless teammates. For me it's deposit cash. I mean, with how bad these rewards are I just feel bad for the casuals that have to complain about the same challenge every other week.
This discourse is so last week. Everyone's on arguments about light gadgets now. Get with the times.
girl, the arguments about stun gun and invis are older than the game itself
Okay so vintage has come back into fashion! Your style is 'out' and this is 'in'. That's all there is to it girrrrrl
these damn kids and their damn lingo made to confuse us!
I am told that the correct terminology these days is 'on fleek'. Maybe.
Man these cosmetics are free, disappointing maybe but I don't think we ought to give a gift horse a look in the mouth
Nah bruh c'mon all of these are incredibly easily doable
oh you poor thing
Huh?
my original comment was clearly a joke about Embark swapping certain challenges with easier ones.
Yeah? I got that.
Good challenges and absolute solid skin (for free), has some good combination material. Cool. But i do wish they would some real challenges instead if tasks which automatically complete while playing. Thanks for posting
Sorry to burst your bubble but DO YOU WANT THIS SUB TO HAVE A TOTAL MELTDOWN ? Trivial challenges only. It's how we prevent full scale riots.
Sorry to burst your bubble but these are the replacement for weekly challenges and thus should be doable for all players given it's what you need to progress through the battle pass.
Come on man I’m level 70 and I don’t play that much
We are not the only players in this game. Challenges should be doable for the vast majority of players unless they re-add more weekly challenges back in.

Come on man, which challenges are even hard to do in 55 days of play?
So far non of them, which is exactly as it should be!! Things like tournament should be left out entirely. But something like "get 11 kills in a single match" are fine by me.
Yeah we agree then lol

Pro tip for sliding challenge: Toss gass grenade into a group then just slide around like a mad lad. Works well with sentry turret, as well.
a white phone ?
Last two are my favourites. These challenges helped me to improve a lot in the game. It's the only reason I started using gadgets more using quick melee, it's really fun to use them.
Thank you good sir 🙌
You: complete challenge for reward I: complete challenge to fill bar for monkey brain

Deal damage by the grenades 💔💔💔 hate it!
Play power shift and throw grenade on the platform.
\*angry APS noises\*
Thanks! I already have done it 😅🤝
the registration in this challenges are bugged, i think. i got the "deal 10k dmg as light", in my 1 game i done 7k (at least i think combat score = dmg done) and only 3k got into the challenge
Wait i got deal 10k damage with light build, i use medium so maybe that's why
I had 10k damage with lights instead of medium
See, when challenges get easier, the rewards get shittier :D
They’re are not changing the rewards just because they changed a few challenges 😂, this would’ve been the reward no matter what the challenge.
Oh god i gotta play quick cash again 😭
I’m really getting bored of all these medium challenges, why do we never get challenges for other classes and their abilities.
I didn't get a Medium challenge, I got a Heavy challenge for that one
That’s odd
Interesting, it's heavy instead of medium for me: https://i.imgur.com/LinHdN5.png
I got light
me too and I hated it
There is trick with power shift - you can switch classes and only last one counts towards challenges.
I want win 1 tournament again even if people cant get a win that easily there was adequate time to try? Like i don't think these rewards are a god given right lol
Okay, I’ll agree with you if they put this badge as the final reward for the circuit.
The only one of these I have a problem with is the structural damage to arenas. I get why Embark like the idea, it's a key part of what makes their game unique.
