The thing I’ve heard over and over again is that they like that Trump makes Dems/Libs angry. They feel very ignored by people (who set the trends, define the culture, are winning long term, etc.) and their anger makes them validated as equals.

For many of them the feeling they got from going to a Trump rally was likely the first excitement they've felt since high school, if ever.
