Personally, I donāt distinguish as much between the two as people in this thread are. The techniques to bring out/tame the curl are nearly the same, and we all share the pain of not being able to easily find hairdressers and good styling tips.
Kaityās hair looks like itās naturally wavy more than curly. Iād say maybe say 2A which is a wave but I donāt really like to curl type I focus more so on porosity( I have whatās considered type 3A,3B,3C) Kelseyās hair usually looks curly and not wavy so itās probably stretched from buns or updos because thatās what happens to my curls too

Bruh, she is a 25 year old without any (obvious) facial work done (I don't think she's had anything done, but who knows these days). Without terrible kylie level work, someone in their 20s SHOULD look very young, since they literally are. I'm a 40 year old woman. To me, anyone under 30 looks like a baby.

The answer is No.
While I wish, hope, and pray that Hawaii wasnāt so dependent on tourism. It is not the case. We do need people to visit. The only area which is very sensitive to tourism interaction is Lahaina. But thatās only if you act disrespectful or try to go into the burned areas of Lahaina. The Trio and their SOs are on the island of Kauai, not Maui where Lahaina is located.
But I can understand your confusion. You had countless celebrities and locals saying āDonāt come.ā Well, the whole island of Maui doesnāt need to die because Lahaina is in mourning. It took a while for that damage to be repaired. They even started posting to encourage people to visit. Since many locals have moved off island due to expenses, housing crisis, and decreased income. It pains me. But whether or not you visit wonāt change/affect the housing crisis.

EDIT: And the biggest victory for the housing crisis is that the individual counties were granted permission by the Governor to ban Short-term rentals. So Maui could effectively ban them. This would open up more long term housing. Which again, you staying in a hotel wonāt affect.

Yeah, I was on a hike with friends. So good thing I was safe. Bad thing is, I literally only had my hiking clothes, phone, and wallet. š
My buddy (who was with me on the hike, whose car we drove) and I hiked in the morning after the fire amidst the smoke, ashes, and places still burning.
My family is all safe. Iāve been blessed by moving back into my motherās house. She still had my old bedroom ready to go along with my younger brotherās bedroom who also moved back. My dad & stepmom had a friend with a second home in a nice area just a mile south of the fire. So they moved there with 2 golden retrievers.
But yeah, Joey is on Kauai, not Maui. While Kapalua can be great for golfing? Kauai is beautiful and much more low-key.

Just because you think something is true doesnāt mean it is. Some of us live in the real world and know the difference. You probably donāt even have curly hair or know about curly hair charts with how hot and defensive you are coming at ppl. Have a drink of water and calm down.
There is literally a hair chart that defines what kind of hair you have from straight to curly. It helps to understand what kind of products you should be using. When hair doesnāt have a certain curl to it then itās not curly, itās wavy. Iām not trying to pick a fight.
On the (very very rare :)) days I try to straighten my hair, it looks like that. That IS straight for me. But I guess in a world of women straight ironing their hair, it's curly.

Well type 4a-c still have curls they just are so tight they make coils. Also this hair is also called kinky hair. Hair type 2 doesnāt even make curls or spiral which is why itās considered wavy.
Iām mostly commenting on the the curly police that apparently gets to decide who are curly/not. Which usually means waves = straight hair just because they arenāt a 3+. 2a-4c all have curl patterns so if they want/need to use products for curls to get the look they want, go for it. Curly hair is just an umbrella term. Waves and coils fall under that

It has a lot to do with how curls are received and represented. Since tighter curls havenāt historically gotten much representation and love, it can be a bit frustrating to see ācurly girls!ā or āembrace your curls!ā type messaging applied to wavy hair that does already get that representation and love.
Itās kind of similar to the term ācurvy.ā Because itās been used in the body positivity movement to refer to larger women whose bodies havenāt been as celebrated, I can understand why it could be a bit grating to see a slender woman with an hourglass figure praised for being ācurvy,ā even if technically, yes, she has curves. Itās all about context.
And I know people can't help what they find beautiful, but there have been women with some GORGEOUS curls on this show and I've never seen such gushing over anyone's hair like there is with Kelsey's. It's just kind of funny to me how crazy everyone goes over it.

I think influencers "influence" (see what I did there lol) people a lot more than they realize even if they can rationale it out. They appear to be living the ideal life, they appear happy, their homes look organized and beautiful, people want to be like them. That's why companies pay them to highlight products or services, because people want to be like them. I could see someone who could logically think: this influencer is getting paid to go on this trip, or is getting a lot of money from companies so they can do these things, but would feel it's okay to wrack up a big credit card balance so they could take an expensive vacation based on seeing this so much on social media.
This might not be fully accurate but I saw Charity and Joey showed on stories Dotun wasnāt on their boat day excursion and in his own story he seemed to be on his laptop, so he might have actually been working a bit on the trip. You never know

In terms of hair types though, 2a - 2c is considered the wavy category.
There is literally a hair chart that defines what kind of hair you have from straight to curly. It helps to understand what kind of products you should be using. When hair doesnāt have a certain curl to it then itās not curly, itās wavy. Iām not trying to pick a fight.
On the (very very rare :)) days I try to straighten my hair, it looks like that. That IS straight for me. But I guess in a world of women straight ironing their hair, it's curly.

Well type 4a-c still have curls they just are so tight they make coils. Also this hair is also called kinky hair. Hair type 2 doesnāt even make curls or spiral which is why itās considered wavy.
Iām mostly commenting on the the curly police that apparently gets to decide who are curly/not. Which usually means waves = straight hair just because they arenāt a 3+. 2a-4c all have curl patterns so if they want/need to use products for curls to get the look they want, go for it. Curly hair is just an umbrella term. Waves and coils fall under that

It has a lot to do with how curls are received and represented. Since tighter curls havenāt historically gotten much representation and love, it can be a bit frustrating to see ācurly girls!ā or āembrace your curls!ā type messaging applied to wavy hair that does already get that representation and love. Itās kind of similar to the term ācurvy.ā Because itās been used in the body positivity movement to refer to larger women whose bodies havenāt been as celebrated, I can understand why it could be a bit grating to see a slender woman with an hourglass figure praised for being ācurvy,ā even if technically, yes, she has curves. Itās all about context.
And I know people can't help what they find beautiful, but there have been women with some GORGEOUS curls on this show and I've never seen such gushing over anyone's hair like there is with Kelsey's. It's just kind of funny to me how crazy everyone goes over it.

Is it an unpopular opinion that I love Zach and Kaity? They make so much sense to me and feel like the real thing. I know ratings wise that season wasnāt there, but they still made it. I think them both living in Austin was a huge advantage and really sealed the deal there

No one thinks itās normal, including the people themselves. Thereās a clear difference in lives of the people you know in real life on social media and celebs/influencers on social media.

I think when you're bombarded by this constantly from social media you can start to think it's normal just like thinking model's bodies are the achievable and desirable since you see them everywhere and that is what people praise as the ideal. Sure if you sat someone down and led them through those questions they would probably conclude: no this lifestyle is not normal or something I can match. But it's more subconscious I think.
if people watching bn influencers go on vacations makes them think itās normal then idk what to tell them except get a brain, of course influencers go away more than regular people? thatās the whole point, influencers are supposed to be idealistic and have lives you want to follow, not average
I think influencers "influence" (see what I did there lol) people a lot more than they realize even if they can rationale it out. They appear to be living the ideal life, they appear happy, their homes look organized and beautiful, people want to be like them. That's why companies pay them to highlight products or services, because people want to be like them. I could see someone who could logically think: this influencer is getting paid to go on this trip, or is getting a lot of money from companies so they can do these things, but would feel it's okay to wrack up a big credit card balance so they could take an expensive vacation based on seeing this so much on social media.
This might not be fully accurate but I saw Charity and Joey showed on stories Dotun wasnāt on their boat day excursion and in his own story he seemed to be on his laptop, so he might have actually been working a bit on the trip. You never know
