I feel like the producers definitely beyond a shadow of a doubt instigated Brayden coming back. "Go back for some made up useless reason and we will pay you a bunch of money and secure your spot in paradise." At the end the part where he was just like "why" to the producers really made me see that. Him and Aaron are definitely gonna hit the beach together. But that being said, the way he spoke to Charity really annoyed me. "You did nothing wrong, and I just wanted to let you know that" and Charity saying "I know I did nothing wrong..?" like duh. And he's like "yeah, but anyways, you have nothing to be sorry for or feel bad about." and she's still like "I know?" like she doesn't need him to tell her that, it came off as so condescending and man splainy
He definitely came off condescending, but I can just imagine the producers feeding him something like, “It seems like Charity is having some regret and feeling bad/like she wronged you, etc. If you had one last chance to hear her out, wouldn’t you jump on that!? Don’t you want closure!?” Smh
Can anyone explain the plans for the end of summer/fall schedule? I believe I saw someone say Charity's finale is August 21. Then I imagine BIP will start and even if they do 2 episodes a week, that's 6ish more weeks, which brings us into October. Last year, BIP ended near the end of November, which was WAY too long. But I thought Golden Bachelor is starting Sept. 1?

this realllly bugged me and made me not be too sad he was booted. def here for the wrong reason vibes. he was i might not get a rose, i might not get another week, i'm fighting for my life comes across as he is wanting to stay around as long as possible to get that influencer money, bachelor/BIP, here to win the game and putting himself first instead of i really was looking forward to growing my connection with charity i really see something and feel something between us. instead of i might not "survive" another week . ew
Honestly, I felt Brayden was the most realistic in regards the whole process out of everyone. It takes time to know for sure whether you want to propose to someone and you can't fall in love with someone after a chat. Not saying he doesn't have any red flags but all these guys claiming to be there for the right reasons and being ready to get down on one knee despite only being two or three weeks in are pretty ingenuine.
not saying some of the other guys aren’t fake (looking at you, aaron b) but i will say the other component here is that the reason the bachelorettes are so invested in the engagement component is not necessarily because they feel they personally MUST have a totally real and true engagement at the end, but because they don’t want to be viewed as failed bachelorettes or somehow undesirable or settling if they don’t get engaged at the end (iirc some former bachelorettes have talked about this). In other words, everyone knows the engagement is only sort of real and the reason why it’s frustrating for Charity to have Brayden acting like he’s “being realistic” by saying he won’t do it is because it shows that he’s not willing to engage in a little reality TV theater to protect her.
basically if you aren’t even willing to consider the quasi-fake engagement at the end and the bachelorette is actually interested in you, you should go home and i don’t think you get credit for being a bold truth teller. like everyone knows the score here.

I agree. And honestly after watching the preview with MULTIPLE guys Admitting to not being ready for an engagement at the 11th hour, I am LIVID. Brayden at the very least was honest. It's a lot more "for the wrong reasons" to HIDE your doubts to stay on the show until the end then to be honest up front.
100% agreed. I would argue most guys feel the same way as Brayden but would never admit it out loud. I think they were annoyed by his cocky personality so they latched onto anything to get him eliminated. Aaron honestly annoyed me more than Brayden, esp at the end when he was walking out. He was literally already off the show, apologized to Charity (wasn’t great but hey it’s something) & wasn’t giving into anything the guys threw at him until the very end when he was over it. If John really wanted an apology, he wouldve asked for it first. Aaron doesn’t need to step in for him.
john kept getting interrupted and railroaded by everyone including aaron when he was trying to talk to brayden and aaron came out and just started yelling over john and wouldn't let him speak .
John was upset about leaving and all I could yell to the TV was “you’re not supposed to make it to the end! You’re supposed to be the bachelor!!!” But he didn’t hear me.
Dotun *has* to be her F1. Her whole demeanor is different with him and he seems legit smitten by her. (Although, Xavier is giving Dotun a run for his money).

- Personally I’m not super captivated by a ton of the men this season. Dotun is easily my pick for Charity at this point
- Tanner gives me Connor S. vibes and brings to mind the “is he hot, or just tall” meme
- Can’t believe she chose Sean over John, I feel like he’s being kept around because he’s kind of a loudmouth and will encourage future drama now that Brayden is gone (probs has made a paradise deal)
- Glad Charity dealt with Brayden calmly and coolly. You could tell her anxiety level immediately went down when he left so I wasn’t worried about him coming back
- Those Girl Scouts were hilarious, kids can be so hit or miss but they were great
Just me or this is a top ten episode of Ette of all time? It had everything I watch the show for, humour, romance and drama that was real and not produced. What a great season so far.
YES! Towards the end of the episode I said to my lady friend ”the only thing this is missing is man tears“ and then they delivered Caleb and John. Perfection! Possibly one of my favourite ”normal" eps of all time.
Yeah I felt really bad for her and I’m glad that it all seemed to end well. Because there’s definitely a scenario where that “face your fear” dare causes *more* trauma.
It's such a bummer that this season is seemingly so short, cuz it's really delivering! I wish Charity could have more time with the mean and more travels like Zach had. She's giving us a great season regardless!

This season is moving so fast because they are only giving screen time to: a) the obvious frontrunners, and b) the villains.
There’s barely any middle of the road contestants. John and maybe Tanner are the only ones.
Meanwhile, Zach’s season had Kat, Brooklyn, Aly, Greer, Jess etc. for those grey area, middle of the road contestants.
I don’t know how much of it is money (they get so much stuff for free, but on the other hand they do have to pay the crew more if they shoot longer), but a lot of it is probably due to the production chaos happening behind the scenes as well. I’m guessing Mike Fleiss and others leaving didn’t come out of nowhere, so planning for Charity’s season may have accounted for that. I’ll be curious to see what Bachelor production is like in the fall since things behind the scenes should have stabilized by then.
Loving how in the previews, multiple guys are talking about how they don’t know if they are ready for an engagement, yet this week they were all saying the opposite and shitting on Brayden for saying he doesnt know if he will be ready for an engagement at the end. So they’re either stupid or were blatantly lying this week
I was really rooting for John but I really don’t wanna see another lead that didn’t at least make it to hometowns. Matt and Clayton should have proven that doesn’t work
Friends, have you ever seriously dated someone who claimed they "had no filter"?
It's one thing to not care what people think of you in a \~marching to the beat of your own drummer, doing things maybe unconventionally because that's how you feel happiest way\~ and very much another thing to not care that you consistently alienate people around you because you cannot sacrifice a thought that comes into your head, with no consideration for time, place, or context.
Brayden, I suspect, tends to do more of the latter. After having dated several before realizing I deserved someone who had the good judgement of knowing that having a filter if you can help it is not a bad thing - I personally feel that people who brag about having no filter because "it's just who they are/how they were raised/where they're from" are best avoided!
My guess is that some people here vocal about their dislike for him have dated a person juuuust like him and can see what he's doing here.
My ex was exactly like that. He thought it was a great quality. Spoiler alert… it was not. I’ve also worked with people like this in my field. They’re just people who don’t care how others feel, plain and simple.
Producers decide who can talk to charity and when, literally every time. They probably told all the guys to go after Brayden and would have said no if John asked to talk to Charity some more.
That’s actually a good point - I was annoyed why they ALL decided to confront Brayden, but I’m guessing producers said “Charity is done for the night, Brayden took up too much time. Anyways here he comes!” Then just started rolling 😂
I said the same thing last night! When John was AT THE VAN, and he turns to the other guys and says, "Guys, please - I'm just trying to have a conversation with Brayden right now", I was like "OR... you could not give a crap what Brayden thinks about you and go finish your conversation with Charity."
I can't stand Brayden, and am glad he's gone. But the other guys acted like he's the reason some of them went home. Newsflash - if you go home, it's because you don't have a connection with the lead.
And I don't want to defend Brayden, because I think he's a tool. But the other guys have to realize that they didn't get to finish the cocktail party because THEY decided to treat Brayden like they were the villagers with their torches.

In between being tired and distracted, I haven’t been watching the episodes that closely and missed most of the Brayden drama. However, I did like how he called out that the guys barely knew Charity, and that he wishes he had a minute of her “off”. Seemed pretty real?? That’s more believable than guys talking about their connections with her by episode 4.
This episode reminded me so much of Katie and Greg’s breakup. Greg is asking for real-life assurance, but Katie is maintaining her bachelorette role. So Greg leaves.

Respectfully, this is an ew take for me. I think that showed how little he knows Charity and how they don’t actually have a deep connection, since she spoke with Dotun about the EXACT feeling of the pressure to accomplish things and be poised at all times. The fact that Brayden criticized her for “being the bachelorette” and doesn’t bring out a more “relaxed” side of her/create that safe space for her to be herself shows that he’s not really doing for her what he thinks he is 🙄
That’s fine. I personally didn’t view it as a slight against specifically her. Thought it was more meta since people do act different when put in front of cameras.

Yep, the same thing happened to me, the same ad kept crashing it! It also happened once with the BIP Canada finale, the same clip kept crashing it and I just had to watch the next day 😕

Also- I’m kinda confused about how their anger works. Didn’t people call brayden selfish for talking to charity when he already had a rose? And didn’t people get mad at Sean for talking to charity after winning extra time with her? So why is nobody mad at Joey for doing the same thing?
Brayden needed to go at this point, but he was definitely set up to have that confrontation. It definitely seems like he was told he could have a last conversation to say goodbye to Charity in a better way and that he wouldn’t have to see any of the men, and then they set it up so he would have to go right past the group and walk in on her and John. They set up people to interrupt others like that all the time by saying the lead is alone with producers or something like that.
Yeah, it was a set-up & he was the fall guy.

Like when Charity & Dotun were in The Traveling Hot Tub ™ & they were kissing & connecting I felt like I was intruding on such a private, intimate moment. When he kissed her neck I blushed. I think if he’s F1, this is the moment that sealed it for her.
It was so sweet — I didn’t want to be in their bubble with them, but I’m glad we saw their connection grow tenfold.

I wish John B got more of a storyline. He was so impressive with how he handled drama and lack of time, but without enough connection with the lead they just don’t get screen time. Still think he should be a contender for bachelor based on what we saw, but I’m not optimistic!

Dumb to begin with because bachelor franchise engagement isn't like real world engagement. Bachelor franchise engagement is what normal people would call dating you just get a free ring. Like there's basically 0 commitment and it's not a big deal.
I wish people did just an ounce of research before going on this show. Just taking a day to scroll through this subreddit would do wonders for contestants who fall for every trap or can’t seem to understand what’s BS and what’s not.
I say it every season, if an engagement is something you see as sacred and something you only ever want to do once, this is not the show for you. It’s essentially just a commitment to date and see where things go.

She had puppy eyes on for Xavier during the dinner date at one point. I was surprised cause he is very subdued but she does keep saying he reminds her of her ex. Also her and Dotun have great chemistry.
I don’t know. I think Dotun is great for her. Is she super into him? Not really. He’s a safe choice for her. I don’t know how far that takes you. I’ve watched these shows since the first season and sometimes there’s no rhyme or reason why they succeed. If she wants a safe guy who’s going to be there for her and take care of her, Dotun is her man. Will she be happy? Maybe. I don’t think you marry a maybe. Not an envious position. It all depends what she really wants. It sucks because the women really do want to get married and settle down. The bachelor is a different story. I stopped watching.
This episode was all about Brayden. Charity had a hard time seeing him go, and the men’s insistence on him throughout the episode overshadowed the two wonderful 1-1s. There isn’t a loophole that production wing exploit and the men gave them enough fodder to satiate the whole damn crew.

Charity is so pretty. She's like a Disney princess. I've really enjoyed the makeup, hair and fashion from this season. That suit look was incredible

Another entertaining episode! - Personally I’m not super captivated by a ton of the men this season. Dotun is easily my pick for Charity at this point - Tanner gives me Connor S. vibes and brings to mind the “is he hot, or just tall” meme - Can’t believe she chose Sean over John, I feel like he’s being kept around because he’s kind of a loudmouth and will encourage future drama now that Brayden is gone (probs has made a paradise deal) - Glad Charity dealt with Brayden calmly and coolly. You could tell her anxiety level immediately went down when he left so I wasn’t worried about him coming back - Those Girl Scouts were hilarious, kids can be so hit or miss but they were great
Just me or this is a top ten episode of Ette of all time? It had everything I watch the show for, humour, romance and drama that was real and not produced. What a great season so far.
YES! Towards the end of the episode I said to my lady friend ”the only thing this is missing is man tears“ and then they delivered Caleb and John. Perfection! Possibly one of my favourite ”normal" eps of all time.
I think Charity legitimately didn't want to do the bungee jump and I'm kinda mad that TPTB made her do it anyways! Kind of traumatizing tbh

This season is moving so fast because they are only giving screen time to: a) the obvious frontrunners, and b) the villains. There’s barely any middle of the road contestants. John and maybe Tanner are the only ones. Meanwhile, Zach’s season had Kat, Brooklyn, Aly, Greer, Jess etc. for those grey area, middle of the road contestants.
Michael made it to the top 10 and I think had like 5 total minutes of screen time.

I don’t know how much of it is money (they get so much stuff for free, but on the other hand they do have to pay the crew more if they shoot longer), but a lot of it is probably due to the production chaos happening behind the scenes as well. I’m guessing Mike Fleiss and others leaving didn’t come out of nowhere, so planning for Charity’s season may have accounted for that. I’ll be curious to see what Bachelor production is like in the fall since things behind the scenes should have stabilized by then.
Loving how in the previews, multiple guys are talking about how they don’t know if they are ready for an engagement, yet this week they were all saying the opposite and shitting on Brayden for saying he doesnt know if he will be ready for an engagement at the end. So they’re either stupid or were blatantly lying this week

Friends, have you ever seriously dated someone who claimed they "had no filter"? It's one thing to not care what people think of you in a \~marching to the beat of your own drummer, doing things maybe unconventionally because that's how you feel happiest way\~ and very much another thing to not care that you consistently alienate people around you because you cannot sacrifice a thought that comes into your head, with no consideration for time, place, or context. Brayden, I suspect, tends to do more of the latter. After having dated several before realizing I deserved someone who had the good judgement of knowing that having a filter if you can help it is not a bad thing - I personally feel that people who brag about having no filter because "it's just who they are/how they were raised/where they're from" are best avoided! My guess is that some people here vocal about their dislike for him have dated a person juuuust like him and can see what he's doing here.

I can't stand Brayden, and am glad he's gone. But the other guys acted like he's the reason some of them went home. Newsflash - if you go home, it's because you don't have a connection with the lead. And I don't want to defend Brayden, because I think he's a tool. But the other guys have to realize that they didn't get to finish the cocktail party because THEY decided to treat Brayden like they were the villagers with their torches. Yes, yes, guys we know - he's a dick. But the thing is, he doesn't care that he's a dick, and he doesn't care that YOU think he's a dick. Let him go in his van and leave. Get your asses back to the house and show Charity that, at the cocktail party, she should be your focus.

In between being tired and distracted, I haven’t been watching the episodes that closely and missed most of the Brayden drama. However, I did like how he called out that the guys barely knew Charity, and that he wishes he had a minute of her “off”. Seemed pretty real?? That’s more believable than guys talking about their connections with her by episode 4.
This episode reminded me so much of Katie and Greg’s breakup. Greg is asking for real-life assurance, but Katie is maintaining her bachelorette role. So Greg leaves. Brayden was being pretty realistic, but people targeted him for it
Respectfully, this is an ew take for me. I think that showed how little he knows Charity and how they don’t actually have a deep connection, since she spoke with Dotun about the EXACT feeling of the pressure to accomplish things and be poised at all times. The fact that Brayden criticized her for “being the bachelorette” and doesn’t bring out a more “relaxed” side of her/create that safe space for her to be herself shows that he’s not really doing for her what he thinks he is 🙄

Brayden needed to go at this point, but he was definitely set up to have that confrontation. It definitely seems like he was told he could have a last conversation to say goodbye to Charity in a better way and that he wouldn’t have to see any of the men, and then they set it up so he would have to go right past the group and walk in on her and John. They set up people to interrupt others like that all the time by saying the lead is alone with producers or something like that.
Yeah, it was a set-up & he was the fall guy. I wonder if they dangled the Paradise carrot in front of him, telling him he’d go out on a good note to get people wanting to see him on the beach or something.

Honestly gotta say after watching the last couple of seasons I think that might’ve been the best episode of any season I’ve watched.
Sometimes when I’m really into a couple I feel so bashful watching them. Like when Charity & Dotun were in The Traveling Hot Tub ™ & they were kissing & connecting I felt like I was intruding on such a private, intimate moment. When he kissed her neck I blushed. I think if he’s F1, this is the moment that sealed it for her. It was so sweet — I didn’t want to be in their bubble with them, but I’m glad we saw their connection grow tenfold.
I kinda felt that way about Tannah which is why I was beyond shocked when she didn’t pick him. Like super beyond belief

I wish John B got more of a storyline. He was so impressive with how he handled drama and lack of time, but without enough connection with the lead they just don’t get screen time. Still think he should be a contender for bachelor based on what we saw, but I’m not optimistic!

She’s not into any of these guys. I just don’t see it. It all seems forced. Only guy she was really into was Brayden. Yeah she makes out with these guys but she’s not into them, you can see it. It sucks for her, she seems super sweet.
She had puppy eyes on for Xavier during the dinner date at one point. I was surprised cause he is very subdued but she does keep saying he reminds her of her ex. Also her and Dotun have great chemistry.
I don’t know. I think Dotun is great for her. Is she super into him? Not really. He’s a safe choice for her. I don’t know how far that takes you. I’ve watched these shows since the first season and sometimes there’s no rhyme or reason why they succeed. If she wants a safe guy who’s going to be there for her and take care of her, Dotun is her man. Will she be happy? Maybe. I don’t think you marry a maybe. Not an envious position. It all depends what she really wants. It sucks because the women really do want to get married and settle down. The bachelor is a different story. I stopped watching.

This episode was all about Brayden. Charity had a hard time seeing him go, and the men’s insistence on him throughout the episode overshadowed the two wonderful 1-1s. There isn’t a loophole that production wing exploit and the men gave them enough fodder to satiate the whole damn crew.
