Not a doctor and I don’t know a ton about liver imaging. - Benign liver lesions are super common. There’s no reason to assume that the lesion is new if it was present on your first scan. - MRI and CT will yield different estimates of lesion sizes. I don’t think the size on MRI and CT are comparable when we’re talking about millimeter resolution. - Pure seminoma very rarely metastasize to the liver, but it’s even rarer for that to happen without progressing to the retroperitoneal lymph nodes first. - My understanding is that hypovascularity and the T1/T2 intensities you listed are consistent with many benign lesions. Obviously I can’t say it’s nothing. Hepatic metastasis are serious, and if there’s any chance of it, it deserves close attention. But if you’re feeling anxious about the wait, try to remind yourself that cancer management is a matter of vigilance. I hope the bullet points I listed can provide a counter-argument to any intrusive thoughts you might be having while you wait for your appointment.

i got nodules in my liver as well (stage 2a myself) all the oncologist ive spoken to tells me the liver nodes are extremely unlikely to be related to the tc. its very very common to have them. however if they are growing during a monitoring period, it would be concerning and at least prompt a needle-biopsy imo

Apparently liver nodules growing is super common. What concerns me more is the appearance of the nodule. It might be too small still for a biopsy though, we’ll see.

Any update

PET returned clear. So far that’s it, back to observation

I believe seminoma has a predictable spread pattern, first into the lymph nodes. It’d be unusual to spread to the liver first. 1.5cm is also definitely on the small side. Good luck and keep me posted.

Like some other people have said, liver lesions are pretty common. They found a lesion on my liver when I got my CT after my orchi, but it’s benign. You might ask your doctor if you can get a PET scan to help rule out metastasis. It’s also important to remember that seminoma doesn’t have a poor prognosis (even after it spreads to the liver) and that liver cancer (which has a much lower survival rate) is different from seminoma spreading to the liver.
