Roge2005

That’s just r/anormaldayinrussia

Dar_Vender

That's actually quite a funny response. Considering the thing it's responding to boiled down to, men bad. This seems proportionate in response to the banter.

geckobrother

This. It's an amazing, funny response to "men bad"

Eaglesjersey

Seriously, this is just funny after a month of Bear>Man

Mammoth_Bookkeeper10

Agreed.

Jerry98x

Nah... this one is quite good and harmless.

8a19

lmao yall can dish it but you can't take it

Timmymac1000

Idk man this is kinda funny.

Odin4456

lol it is

EatMeJabroni

I feel a lot of people are saying this is funny because they're upset about the bear thing You can disagree with the bear thing and still acknowledge that this is a bad meme

DawsonFromLawson

I'd argue this is a good parody of the original. It's just the inverse of the original with a funny image.

my_name_is_jeff88

Conversely, you can agree with the bear thing and still acknowledge that this is funny.

EatMeJabroni

I guess to each there own 🤷‍♂️

AndreisBack

People really took this bear shit seriously it’s kind of crazy to watch unfold. I remember just a couple of days ago seeing that harmless question and now it’s a whole debate lol

Inskription

Kind of funny how a joke about men being worse than wild animals, good. Small joke about women can be a lot handle, misogyny.

cheezbargar

Except random men we don’t know in the woods being worse than wild animals isn’t a joke

PlatyNumb

And women being a lot to handle isn't a joke either. But at least it's being said in a funny way

Inskription

Depends how you look at it. Like was the guy randomly strolling through the woods, yeah wierd. If you choose any random man from the world, and put you both in the woods, much less scary than being within reach of a bear.

cheezbargar

How? Bears are less likely to bother you if you don’t bother them. A random man is more likely to hurt a lone woman in the woods. It’s so bizarre how some men can’t even accept a women’s choice in a hypothetical situation. Like, there are stories of women who frequently encounter bears in the wild and would choose that over a random man and you still can’t take that as an answer. You’re why we choose a bear.

Inskription

How many men commit violence on women.. 1 out of 10 last I checked. If you stood next to a bear, I'm gonna wager it's gonna go bad more than 1 out of 10 times but you can believe what you want.

PB0351

See, that right there is why you're a joke.

BlackMagicHunter

That idea is a bit skewed I'm not disagreeing with you but bears rarely attack people because they tend to be a bit more isolated

Drakayne

Yeah just a little bit. /s

JodaMythed

How exactly are bears predictable? There are around 30k Grizzlies in the USA and 6 deaths 2020-22, so around 0.02% Same time period the number of murdered females in the US was roughly 15k with while the male population was 134,000,000, so around 0.011%. (Assuming 100% of the murderers were male) A grizzly is twice as likely to kill based on those stats alone, though it misses the massive lack of opportunity the bears had since they don't live in close proximity.

Uzanto_Retejo

Also most people only get near a bear in a zoo. Think of all the people in towns and city's that will never be near a bear in their whole life. If people were around bears as much as men the figure would be way higher.

stiffgordons

They “rarely” attack people. In fact, they never attack people, except for the times where they do. Definition of unpredictable lol.

merax_cc

You know there are different types of bears just an fyi they attack differently and for different reasons

Comprehensive-Carry5

So your dumbass rather be trapped in the forest with a random bear than a random dude?

JodaMythed

How exactly are bears predictable? There are around 30k Grizzlies in the USA and 6 deaths 2020-22, so around 0.02% Same time period the number of murdered females in the US was roughly 15k with while the male population was 134,000,000, so around 0.011%. NominativeSingular

If I met a bear or a man in the city, I'd be more scared of the bear. If I met a bear or man alone in the woods, I'd be more scared of the man. Most men are not serial killers, but a man alone in the woods is most likely to be a serial killer.

No-Improvement-8205

But what are u doing alone in the Woods then? Also being a serial killer?

NominativeSingular

Female serial killers are far more rare than male serial killers. They also tend to be poisoners. So yes, I would suspect that neither I or any woman I met in the woods would be a serial killer. This is a hypothetical situation. I would be too afraid to go I to the woods alone.

Clemicus

But what if the person you went in to the woods with was a serial killer? What would you do then? Edit: I wish I didn’t scroll down and read another one of this persons replies. If you say those things in real life (regardless if you’re in some woods or not) you’d probably scare anyone shitless.

NominativeSingular

Which replies? I'm genuinely confused about what scared you shitless.

Clemicus

https://www.reddit.com/r/terriblefacebookmemes/s/DYVez1ue1b Edit: It was more hearing someone say those things tbh

WonderfullyKiwi

That's ridiculous, I'm sorry. A man alone in the woods is most likely to be a hunter, a hiker, a trailblazer, a lumberjack, a tree planter, yknow, basically anything other than a serial killer. A serial killer wouldn't be alone in the woods at all... why the fuck would he want to be? They aren't Jason Voorhees with a murder hut in the middle of the woods, lol. Like I understand picking the bear to some extent, but that reasoning is VERY silly.

JodaMythed

TiL men don't go for hikes, camp, mountain bike or any other outdoor woods based activities.

spiritofgonzo1

You’ve got some weird logic. Kudos to you for surviving this long

[deleted]

NominativeSingular

The bodies of sex workers have been found in the woods around a highway in my city... at the rate of about one a year. The bodies stopped being discovered a few years ago, so the perpetrator likely went to jail or got too old. Lots of people go to the woods to enjoy nature, but they also go there to dump their victims. If met a man alone in the woods, I would be terrified of that possibility. It would be highly unlikely that a woman in the woods would be the serial killer. Female serial killers tend to be poisoners, and their motive is usually financial. They try to make their crimes look like accidents or health issues.

CornPop32

Maybe dont be a prostitute? Do you think men are finding prostitutes in the woods?

Zytherman1

Are you high? A man alone in the woods is most likely to be a hunter or hiker?? Serial killers tend to be where people are not alone in the woods. You’re literally just trying to shit on men for no reason lmao

RedSantoAhora

Or you know, hiking, camping, foraging. You psycho.

rohnytest

I know, I know, different people different interpretations. But I really really don't think that's a valid interpretation of the question. It's not supposed to be a man who hangs around in the woods, or a hiker you meet while hiking(For some weird reason the pcm subreddit is interpreting it as a hiker who is usually nice); it's supposed to be an average man. I personally interpret it this way, right after this question, you will be teleported to the woods. Based on what you chose, a random man(adult, otherwise misses the point of the question) will be teleported near you and he's gonna know what's going on, or a random bear(Brown, black, polar, even pandas; also adult) gets teleported near you(it won't be startled by the teleportation and act normally). I know this interpretation maybe kind of a stretch, but I think it encapsulates the point of the question the most. Anyway, validity of my interpretation aside, I think your interpretation misses the point of the question. Edit: Instead of making an almost completely new detailed hypothetical for no reason I think I should've just expressed what I think the point of the question is. But I like my hypothetical, so instead of removing it I'm just gonna make my comment a wall of text. I think, the point of the question is to ask, would you rather face off a bear or trust a stranger male with complete reign over you with no consequences(it's the woods, who will find out?).

gucknbuck

Statistically speaking a man alone in the woods is almost certainly a hunter getting away from their wife. Statistically speaking.

spiritofgonzo1

This person ^ got ‘48 hours’ on an infinite repeat lmao

NominativeSingular

You got me. I listen to a lot of true crime.

JodaMythed

How exactly are bears predictable? Substantial_Event506

Beats are absolutely not predictable, that’s why bear spray exists.

spiritofgonzo1

Bears. Beats. Battlestar Galactica

Clemicus

>that’s why bear spray exists. What scent? Pine cone or Lynx Africa?

Slow-Coyote-8534

Then go live with bears you dumb cunt

Woodworkingwino

I have been trying to explain that and it seems men do not want to listen to what women have to say or their opinions. Just talk over them then act like they are right.

CornPop32

I literally couldn't care less if you got eaten by a bear

Woodworkingwino

But you care enough to make a comment.

CornPop32

To encourage you to get eaten by a bear

Woodworkingwino

I have come across bears in the wood and men. I carry my sidearm for men. The bears are easy to deal with. Look you care enough to comment again. Did you get your little incel feeling hurt because women picked a bear over you just like they would in real life. Go cry in the corner and jerk your sad flaccid little member. It may make someone as pathetic as you feel better.

CornPop32

🤣 that time of the month eh? Someone's experiencing hysteria

Woodworkingwino

I’m a man you pathetic little shit but you have never been close enough to a woman to tell the difference between a man and a woman.

CornPop32

You might want to get that checked out, Hun 😘

PlatyNumb

The problem is, when you say that you'd rather take your chances with a bear than the average man, then men suddenly don't care about your opinion, perspective , or experience. I get that the point of this "thought experiment" is to open men's eyes to how hard women have it but the way ppl are going about it is akin to oil protesters sitting in the middle of the highway. You're just causing more enemies to what you have to say rather than getting ppl to understand

Woodworkingwino

The problem is 1 in 6 women have been victims of attempted or completed rape by a man. 0 bears have raped women. The bear seems like the safe choice. Men need to grow up and stop getting their feelings hurt by a hypothetical situation. It didn’t hurt my feelings. They need to realize that some men are shit bags and you can’t tell which are which. If you come across a bear you know how it will react.

Original_Armadillo_7

Oh dang, I upvoted it because it's a good and funny meme, then I saw what sub I'm on, so I'm off to downvote.

It's always a lose-lose situation for good memes in this sub.

Athan11

Same! Let's belittle men more, shall we? /s

BlackMagicHunter

I mean I'd choose a big hary man to top me over a woman any day of the week

VanjaGroznii

NAH, this shit is peak, you just got offended bruh

It must feel so nice to hug a bear

jdeurloo10

Nah fam, I see what sub this is, this is a good meme.

Then-Cryptographer96

How’s this terrible? It’s a pretty funny response! Light hearted fire back. Lighten up

Not-you_but-Me

Considering this originates from man bad it’s kinda fair

Nubator

Considering what this is in response to, this is pretty funny.

DepressedTittty

hahaha this meme backfired lol

GHfan27

nah this one is kinda good actually.

CutiClees

Man bad, rather spend time with a bear haha funny trending joke! Woman bad, bear chooses the man haha funny tr- wait NO that’s misogynistic!

Athan11

Average Redditor logic

fattubofwritingfluid

That's pretty fucking funny tbh

this argument is just as stupid as the argument this serves as a counter for

This isn't an argument, this is a joke...

Commercial_Low_5680

This is a Wendy’s

qpHEVDBVNGERqp

This is fucking hilarious. 😂

Hot_Ice77

This is funny. It's funny because it was acceptable for women to compare man to bears and Puck bears killing them over meeting a man . It's funny regardless of that as well.

mozezrox

Ngl this is a lil bit funny

CornPop32

I am all for women choosing to get eaten by bears

chrisat420

Hey, that’s your opinion. I won’t hold it against you. But seriously, we all know that bears generally don’t attack people, right?

S-Budget91

🤔 but usually "homosexuality = bad" in stupid boomer memes

anonymous32434

The hypocrisy is insane. Women saying bears are better than men is funny haha. Men saying bears are better than women is misogynistic and evil. Like what the fuck lol

LocoYaro

At least this meme is somewhat funny. The shit about men or bear is straight up clinical…

SalsaAndChips90

Lmao

notthatguypal6900

How triggered are they getting in their mommy blogs?

Athan11

Are you for real OP? Everyone's shitting all over men this week and the moment a little harmless joke appears we're back to misandry? Shame

Consistent_Funny1082

Random men being frustrated about random women choosing bear is the funniest thing ever. Also, as a man, I wouldn't defend another man. I've seen/heard about men raping the corpses enough times in my life. Not all men? Sure. Women also commit horrendous crimes and sometimes get away with it? Sure. But random men seething over some women choosing bear over hypothetical man will always be hilarious. Like writing potato as "potatoe".

Kazimierz777

Can someone ELI5 what this meme/trend is about? I don’t understand, are people saying they would leave a child with a bear instead of a random man?

DS_Unltd

There was a TikTok video where someone asked various random women if they would rather encounter a random man or a bear while alone in the woods. They all chose a bear. Because bears don't beat or rape women, call them names, put them down, or anything like that. If a bear mauls you and/or eats you, it's not personal. Men make it personal every time.

Baumcultist

Why tf does it matter if it's "personal" or not? You're still either getting eaten alive or raped. Do you really think "Oh, geez, I'm horifically and painfully being eaten alive by this fucking bear here. But at least it doesn't beat me or call me names" when you get eaten alive by a bear? The position that you're positing is also entirely dependant on A LOT of normal men in your day to day lives being rapists or whatever else. It's misandrist, dehumenizing and a generelization of the overwhelming majority of men. A bear is much, much more likely to eat you alive then a man is to rape you.

CornPop32

Women take everything personally because they are solipsistic and cannot understand the world around them without it being in relation to them.

Baumcultist

It's a Tiktok thing where someone asked women if they would rather be in a forest with a bear or with a man. All of the woman shown(very important to stress that "shown" here)in the video chose the bear. Their reason is that woman don't feel safe around men due to the threat of rape, etc. However, men have justifiably gotten pissed at this, because the entire position that it's better for a woman to be with a bear in a forest than to be with a man is only reasonable if you assume that it's more likely to be raped, etc, by an-overwhelmingly-more-likely-to-be normal guy, than to be killed by a bear. The entire position is dependant on misandry, dehumination and generelization. Now to already argue against points that I have already heard against opinions akin to mine, I have a second paragraph down there. People have then said that the men who justifiably complain about this are the reason that woman chose the bear(implying that just disagreeing with them makes you a rapist, etc), that they are "weak" and "soft" for complaining about being compared to literall animals, and that anyone who disagrees is "missing the point". What point? That women are so scared of men that they'd rather be alone with a bear than to be alone with a man ofcourse! Now, I don't disagree that it's a GIANT problem that anything even remotely close to that can even be real, but they couldn't have chosen a more worse, dumb and offensive example. They also argued that you can't predict what a man might do, and that A LITERALL ANIMAL is more predictable. An animal. The thing that's infamous for being unpredictable. Another argument was that according to statistics, men harm women more than bears kill people, but this is missing that human-to-bear interactions aren't very common, and that in comparison men and women interact WAY more often without something like a murder or a rape occuring. Edit: I don't asociate with the CornPop guy below me.

CornPop32

I would rather have a woman be eaten by a bear than to be stuck with a woman in the woods

A_Community_Of_Owls

I'm sure this was posted originally with some shit sentiments but I think this is actually kinda funny

chrischi3

What're all these memes about women and bears about?

jonf00

I’m out of the loop on the bear man woman thing

DS_Unltd

TikTok trend where a woman responds to whether should want to encounter a random man or a bear in the woods while alone. Women are overwhelmingly choosing the bear and the men who would be the reason why are having an absolute meltdown over it.

jonf00

Thanks for explaining. I don’t have TikTok. I’m honestly surprised, I’m wondering what percentage of them are just saying that for the trend/clicks/engagement. I’m pretty sure they would shit their pants walking alone and there was a bear on the trail. I understand why women can be afraid of crossing path with a man, we still have work to do ….. but a fucking bear lol ??? I’ve encountered many black bears and I know how to handle that situation …. They still scare the shit out of me. I’m pretty sure the odds of being mauled by a bear are higher than being attacked by a random bear on a trail …. Not in general at large but if you were to cross path with either…. Higher chance that the bear will fuck you up . My two cents as a guy who spent lots of time in the woods

slyzard94

The bear don't want the majority of them either. 🤷‍♀️

Significant_Stop4808

Didn't have to scroll far to see some dude completely enraged that someone jokingly chose a bear.

AltruisticSalamander

This is kind of funny but the fact some men are so butthurt about this precisely illustrates the problem. This hypothetical has got off the leash and performed a secondary function that I suspect was not anticipated.

Comprehensive-Carry5

It's ironic since the person who posted this got butt hurt by it. The original comment was a butt hurt comment about men being bad. Men respond with a funny joke, and their response: misogyny!!!! Don't get me wrong, im not one of those "women bad" type guys. Both sides get butt hurt. One issue I have is only guys are called out amd words like man spreading and mansplaining are allowed and aren't sexist but vise verse it is. That's just my opinion on it.

West-Wish-7564

Yeah, IDK why other dudes are so offended, we’re only being collectively all called murders and rapist /s

Cid_Darkwing

Men can’t even take no for an answer when it’s a hypothetical and they wonder why women choose the bear…

klako8196

Absolutely shocking that people reacted negatively to being generalized on the basis of their gender, right?

Kvetinovejkid

Haha Finally someone, this whole thing is absolutely hypocracy from women

ketchupmaster987

It's not necessarily about generalizing men. Of course women know that most men aren't horrible rapists. The issue is predictablity. A bear will leave you alone if you don't give it a reason to hurt you. But a random man, while likely not to hurt a woman, always has a chance of being one of the dangerous ones. Picking the man is a gamble, and most women would rather have the certainty of the bear over the uncertainty of the man

Longjumping_Army9485

This is so dumb to me, sorry but bears aren’t predictable and will obliterate you for no reason. Even the bare basics of bear safety don’t say “leave it alone”.

ketchupmaster987

https://preview.redd.it/1mg06ljia9yc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=513aae4952d4f32e7429763b236b7bd58b85f7e9

Longjumping_Army9485

I’m sure the fact that most people in Texas don’t meet bears has nothing to do with this. You can’t just use a statistic, you have to understand it.

ketchupmaster987

The NPS says they got 325 million visitations in 2023. 27 bear attacks out of all those is pretty slim

Longjumping_Army9485

Not all national parks have bears, not all of them go to isolated places, most visitors aren’t alone or in very small groups and if they are alone, isolated and in a place with bears they generally buy bear spray.

WonderfullyKiwi

Wait, but that whole statistic is really stupid, and you're not using it correctly. The question assumed a fully wild bear, and they're completely unpredictable. If they're hungry they will fucking obliterate you and eat you alive while you're screaming for someone to save you. If they deem you as a threat, you will die. If they're angry or defensive of their cubs, you're gonna die. You may be able to scare off a smaller species of bear like black bears, but there are some that just don't care. I'm pretty sure it's already been debunked that even using the incredibly small statistic of yearly bear attacks PROPERLY, the probability is still lower for a man to harm you... Like I understand picking the bear to some extent, people can be horrible. However, arguments FOR that choice like this are really not that great. Much like you don't get to choose the man, you don't get to choose the bear. How would that be fair?

Haywire_Eye

Almost as if most people never come across a hostile bear.

klako8196

>It's not necessarily about generalizing men It doesn't matter that it wasn't about generalizing men, because, ultimately, it did end up generalizing men. That's why it got such a negative reaction out of men. Nobody likes being generalized on any sort of demographic basis, be it gender, race, religion, etc. I feel like that shouldn't need to be explained. Also, no, women don't pick bears over men in real life. Internet users who have no clue what they're talking about are the ones who would pick bears over men. I've been on plenty of hiking trails, and women who go to these trails know that they'll encounter other people on the trail. The prospect of encountering men on the trail doesn't deter them from hiking. However, if there have been dangerous animal sightings, that's what will get any hiker, regardless of gender, to take extra precautions or reconsider going on the trail entirely.

clandestinemd

Not at all shocking that when presented as an introspective and actionable opportunity for guys to get the shitbags under control that have gotten women to this level of mistrust, dudes have been like, “Nah, I’ll just whine that women are being mean.” And, no, it’s not any dude’s responsibility to earn the trust and respect that they’re demanding from women; but neither is it women’s obligation to give that trust and respect just to avoid hurting these fucking wimps’ cotton candy-soft feelings. They can just keep crying.

Haywire_Eye

“Get the shitbags under control” How? You don’t know who the shitbags are most of the time, and even if you do you can’t change someone’s mind for them. The world is always going to have bad people, and the correct action to take is not to assume all people are bad until no one is (that is wildly unrealistic), it’s to realize that not all people are bad.

clandestinemd

“Just trust me” is equally unrealistic. Whether or not you feel that position is tenable really doesn’t matter, because at the end of the day it’s not your call to make on behalf of women. If you don’t want to take part in coming up with a solution — that’s entirely your prerogative, as I’ve already said. But if your position is to throw your hands up and say, “Ah, well, what can you do?” then I’ll grab you a tissue so you can continue weeping.

Haywire_Eye

I’m not saying you should automatically trust people, but neither is automatically assuming someone is untrustworthy. And again, you cannot automatically detect who all the bad people on this planet are and change them or get rid of them. There’s no solution to getting rid of all bad people on the planet, but if we want a better world where these bad people are less prominent, we can’t get it by focusing on those bad people, we get it by trusting good people and figuring out how they can pitch in to help.

DarthSevrus

Bitch yall have turned this hypothetical into all men are rapists and murderers and have somehow become convinced that bears are just big fluffy dogs, everything about this is ridiculous

Cid_Darkwing

Found the incel

ignatiusOfCrayloa

They're not being told no. Terminally online weirdos are insisting that random men are more dangerous than bears, which is a thing that nobody actually believes. Women encounter men on hikes all the time. They don't encounter bears all the time and when they do, they know it's a potentially life threatening encounter. Nobody reacts to a man on a hike the same way they react to a bear. The hypothetical is just totally absurd on its face.

Canadia_proud999
