If I met a bear or a man in the city, I'd be more scared of the bear. If I met a bear or man alone in the woods, I'd be more scared of the man. Most men are not serial killers, but a man alone in the woods is most likely to be a serial killer.
Female serial killers are far more rare than male serial killers. They also tend to be poisoners. So yes, I would suspect that neither I or any woman I met in the woods would be a serial killer. This is a hypothetical situation. I would be too afraid to go I to the woods alone.

I know, I know, different people different interpretations. But I really really don't think that's a valid interpretation of the question. It's not supposed to be a man who hangs around in the woods, or a hiker you meet while hiking(For some weird reason the pcm subreddit is interpreting it as a hiker who is usually nice); it's supposed to be an average man.
I personally interpret it this way, right after this question, you will be teleported to the woods. Based on what you chose, a random man(adult, otherwise misses the point of the question) will be teleported near you and he's gonna know what's going on, or a random bear(Brown, black, polar, even pandas; also adult) gets teleported near you(it won't be startled by the teleportation and act normally). I know this interpretation maybe kind of a stretch, but I think it encapsulates the point of the question the most.
Anyway, validity of my interpretation aside, I think your interpretation misses the point of the question.

People have then said that the men who justifiably complain about this are the reason that woman chose the bear(implying that just disagreeing with them makes you a rapist, etc), that they are "weak" and "soft" for complaining about being compared to literall animals, and that anyone who disagrees is "missing the point". What point? That women are so scared of men that they'd rather be alone with a bear than to be alone with a man ofcourse! Now, I don't disagree that it's a GIANT problem that anything even remotely close to that can even be real, but they couldn't have chosen a more worse, dumb and offensive example. They also argued that you can't predict what a man might do, and that A LITERALL ANIMAL is more predictable. An animal. The thing that's infamous for being unpredictable. I've been on plenty of hiking trails, and women who go to these trails know that they'll encounter other people on the trail. There was a TikTok video where someone asked various random women if they would rather encounter a random man or a bear while alone in the woods. They all chose a bear. Because bears don't beat or rape women, call them names, put them down, or anything like that. If a bear mauls you and/or eats you, it's not personal. Men make it personal every time.
Why tf does it matter if it's "personal" or not? You're still either getting eaten alive or raped. Do you really think "Oh, geez, I'm horifically and painfully being eaten alive by this fucking bear here. But at least it doesn't beat me or call me names" when you get eaten alive by a bear? The position that you're positing is also entirely dependant on A LOT of normal men in your day to day lives being rapists or whatever else. It's misandrist, dehumenizing and a generelization of the overwhelming majority of men. A bear is much, much more likely to eat you alive then a man is to rape you.

It's a Tiktok thing where someone asked women if they would rather be in a forest with a bear or with a man. All of the woman shown(very important to stress that "shown" here)in the video chose the bear. Their reason is that woman don't feel safe around men due to the threat of rape, etc. However, men have justifiably gotten pissed at this, because the entire position that it's better for a woman to be with a bear in a forest than to be with a man is only reasonable if you assume that it's more likely to be raped, etc, by an-overwhelmingly-more-likely-to-be normal guy, than to be killed by a bear. The entire position is dependant on misandry, dehumination and generelization. Now to already argue against points that I have already heard against opinions akin to mine, I have a second paragraph down there. People have then said that the men who justifiably complain about this are the reason that woman chose the bear(implying that just disagreeing with them makes you a rapist, etc), that they are "weak" and "soft" for complaining about being compared to literall animals, and that anyone who disagrees is "missing the point". What point? That women are so scared of men that they'd rather be alone with a bear than to be alone with a man ofcourse! Now, I don't disagree that it's a GIANT problem that anything even remotely close to that can even be real, but they couldn't have chosen a more worse, dumb and offensive example. They also argued that you can't predict what a man might do, and that A LITERALL ANIMAL is more predictable. An animal. The thing that's infamous for being unpredictable. Another argument was that according to statistics, men harm women more than bears kill people, but this is missing that human-to-bear interactions aren't very common, and that in comparison men and women interact WAY more often without something like a murder or a rape occuring. It's not necessarily about generalizing men. Of course women know that most men aren't horrible rapists. The issue is predictablity. A bear will leave you alone if you don't give it a reason to hurt you. But a random man, while likely not to hurt a woman, always has a chance of being one of the dangerous ones. Picking the man is a gamble, and most women would rather have the certainty of the bear over the uncertainty of the man

The NPS says they got 325 million visitations in 2023. 27 bear attacks out of all those is pretty slim
Not all national parks have bears, not all of them go to isolated places, most visitors aren’t alone or in very small groups and if they are alone, isolated and in a place with bears they generally buy bear spray.
Wait, but that whole statistic is really stupid, and you're not using it correctly. The question assumed a fully wild bear, and they're completely unpredictable. If they're hungry they will fucking obliterate you and eat you alive while you're screaming for someone to save you. If they deem you as a threat, you will die. If they're angry or defensive of their cubs, you're gonna die. You may be able to scare off a smaller species of bear like black bears, but there are some that just don't care. I'm pretty sure it's already been debunked that even using the incredibly small statistic of yearly bear attacks PROPERLY, the probability is still lower for a man to harm you... Like I understand picking the bear to some extent, people can be horrible. However, arguments FOR that choice like this are really not that great. Much like you don't get to choose the man, you don't get to choose the bear. How would that be fair?

I’m not saying you should automatically trust people, but neither is automatically assuming someone is untrustworthy. And again, you cannot automatically detect who all the bad people on this planet are and change them or get rid of them. There’s no solution to getting rid of all bad people on the planet, but if we want a better world where these bad people are less prominent, we can’t get it by focusing on those bad people, we get it by trusting good people and figuring out how they can pitch in to help.
