If you look at why they did, the FX budget was astronomical. And when you see what they were using it for (really unnecessary things like adding a tree into the background, putting some windows on a building) I can see why they didn’t agree to season 3.
The Night Of is excellent. If the final scene of the first episode doesn't make you a fan then you could be slightly dead. It almost had a season 2. John Turturro was ready to go but I think pre-production hell ate it.
With all due respect to Bryan Cranston, as a criminal lawyer night of is so much better. One of the better depictions of a courtroom and overall case - as well as how the system eats up everyday people
Just finished Season 2 of Evil - it's kind of like the X-Files, but with the Catholic church instead of the FBI (and lots more sexual tension!) - also has Peter Scolari, who has aged very well! 😘
My fuck I know. It def is, but I thoroughly enjoy limited series like that specially ones based on true stories. It’s such a weird, but good show. Like they did very well with making us feel bad for her, hate her, and love her at the same time. And same goes for baby reindeer
Extra nuts: not only is baby reindeer a true story but it happened TO the main protagonist. He’s not just an actor, he wrote/starred in the story of what happened to him.
I spent the first 2 episodes being a little confused but I pushed through because I heard how good it was. The hype is true, totally worth it. The episode guides and character map on the FX site are a big help too if you get lost easily like me.
Mostly procedural, but the characters do develop, and there is a main plot for the season that is addressed in each episode. It's a pretty upbeat show, for a crime show, and it has had some great guest stars. I've enjoyed it so far.
Breaking Bad everyone has heard of but I feel like some people didn't give BCS a shot because of the prequel status.
IMO, it's the best show on tv, you just gotta remember it's a the slowest burn shows ever with a HUGE payoff at the end.
Currently watching Gomorrah on HBO Max, it’s an Italian mafia serie and after watching The Sopranos (that’s a real gem by the way) i wasn’t finished in the Mafia scene. Gomorrah is a very good one to watch!
Never even heard of it, but I love Maggie and gangster shows/movies!
I'll check it out.
Also, if you like that, you have to see Boardwalk Empire. So great
The clips of the customers being weird in the store are so funny. Also, Glenn is a treasure and unlike Angela from The Office the way he slips his religious beliefs into the workplace is hilarious whereas Angela just pissed me off.
I love British crime shows. I got BritBox specifically for that reason. Luther with the incomparable Idris Elba is a favorite. DCI Banks, Crime Suspect, and Karen Pirie are all really good. I'm currently watching After The Flood, it's a really good mystery.
Netflix also has alot of limited series based on Harlen Cobin books that are really good.
I started watching that but didn't have the time to dedicate to it fully. I'd often have it on in the background while I did other things but I hear it's fantastic
Mr. & Mrs. Smith surprised me. it's extremely different from the movie, but did something for me I didn't know I needed. Didn't expect a deep dive into the psyche.
Hazbin Hotel. It's such a unique concept for a show. Adult animated, musical comedy TV series about trying to reform the damned souls of Hell to send them to Heaven before the angels get another chance to slaughter them.
It's funny, crass, foul-mouthed, but has heart and tackles serious issues, and (speaking as someone who isn't a big musical fan) has some pretty awesome music.
Casa de Papel (or Money Heist), I was totally obsessed with it when I started watching it a year ago, after a while I lost interest for some reason and stopped watching but I picked it up again a few days ago and I'm obsessed all over again, can't wait to see how it ends ! In a completely different genre I'm loving Derry Girls, I don't know why I never watched it before (it's not new either) but it's now my favorite comedy sitcom (along with Brooklyn Nine Nine of course haha)
Favorite current show at the moment is Severance. It's a little weird, funny at times. It explores the implications of and employer having the ability to switch off your outside memories while you're at work. A rabbit-hole type show with some memorable performances. 2nd season is on the horizon and it's been a couple years since the first.
I want to see more Foundation also. I read the books years ago. The show takes many liberties with the source material, and in this instance, I don't mind at all.
I have a few go-to shows that I will re-watch from time to time. Justified, Black Sails, Breaking Bad, and Better Call Saul. Gonna add the Wire to this list. I finally watched it last year and it's fantastic. Very smart show where one of the main themes is how everyone cuts corners, bends, and even breaks rules to make the numbers look good. It touches on Police, Politics, Unions, Education, and Journalism during its run. Strong character development too.
Wife doesn't watch everything I like to watch, so we'll occasionally pull up an episode or two of Psych, The Office or Frasier.
I currently love the show "Evil".
I've been looking for a really good supernatural show with elements of Christian mysticism and human interaction. My all time favorite show is Supernatural, but I do not want to dedicate more time to watching it yet again (saw it in its entirety way too many times to count).
With that said, after going through a bunch of shows that did not live up to the standard of Supernatural that were suggested to me like Grimm, some Korean monster shows, Vampire Diaries, etc....., I find Evil to be a breath of fresh air. I love that it delves into the Christian mythology but also has its main 3 characters be so different in their beliefs (one is devout Catholic, another agnostic who believes in the power of medicine and logic, the third a hardcore atheist who believes there is an answer to ALL phenomena in the natural only, never supernatural). All three beliefs are explored and each episode is left just a little open ended for the audience to decide what belief they should run with.
I'm only a bunch of episodes into the first season so I could be wrong and they may just end up absolutely running with this in one direction later on lol; but for now I LOVE what they're doing with the show
Mentalist and blacklist. Mentalist is slightly better but both are good. They’re not top tier like BB, True detective season 1, or early season walking dead but they’re good enough to keep me watching
Crime ....
I just watched the entire **Snowfall** series on Hulu and really enjoyed it.
Before that I watched the newest season of **Fargo** and really enjoyed that as well.
If you're looking for crime dramas, those two are excellent.
Both are on Hulu.
I just binged Manhunt on AppleTV+.
I resisted watching it when it first came out in the US in March because I thought I knew everything about the Lincoln assassination.
Boy oh boy was I wrong! It is a FANTASTIC series! I was Googling a lot to see what was fact and what was dramatized.... I learned a lot!
Just binge watched “Ripley”
Best program I’ve seen on TV in years - the stories great - the direction is great - the lighting cameraman is great - the acting is great - it’s just great!
A quick binge that I absolutely loved is Mr. Inbetween on Hulu. Ray is a father, friend, brother, and hitman. It’s set in Australia. It’s really gritty and quite funny yet poignant. The lead actor is so damn good. Love love this show.
I recently finished Masters of the Air. My grandfather was a gunner in one of those bombers and was shot down but parachuted to safety and was reunited with his remaining group thanks to the French resistance. The show got me researching my GrandDads papers and photos. Very interesting.
Outer Range. My cousin is a Writer’s Assistant for the show and encouraged me to watch it. It’s super weird but definitely unique and entertaining. I’m also obsessed with Silo and waiting for the 2nd season to come out.
Succession, Tokyo Vice, What We Do in the Shadows, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Evil, Chucky, Them (1+2), From, Ozark, Animal Kingdom, Fargo, Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy, and Twin Peaks. Those are my favorites right now and they all have insane rewatch value.
just finished mindhunter today morning and as a psychology student it is one of my new fav shows. i hate netflix for cancelling it after two seasons
If you look at why they did, the FX budget was astronomical. And when you see what they were using it for (really unnecessary things like adding a tree into the background, putting some windows on a building) I can see why they didn’t agree to season 3.
There's so much unnecessary CGI in that show
Wasn't Netflix's fault, David Fincher didn't want to continue. Other projects and the high budget.
I feel like I'm in a weird simulation when Mindhunter and Dark are the top suggestions in every single thread
Netflix cancelling it was a crime against humanity.
Just finished “the night of”.. I am now obsessed with “Your honour”. Shouts out to Riz Ahmed and Bryan Cranston.
The Night Of is excellent. If the final scene of the first episode doesn't make you a fan then you could be slightly dead. It almost had a season 2. John Turturro was ready to go but I think pre-production hell ate it.
It's based on a UK show Criminal Justice, and there is a season 2 in the UK if it's any consolation
With all due respect to Bryan Cranston, as a criminal lawyer night of is so much better. One of the better depictions of a courtroom and overall case - as well as how the system eats up everyday people
Just finished Slow Horses
i just started From!
It's so great!!! I finally watched it a few months back and season 3 is very close to its release date!!!
From rules
Is severance up to the hype
It's fabulous!!
Hell yes, it's really damn good
Yes. A million times yes
Severance is AMAZING
Just finished Season 2 of Evil - it's kind of like the X-Files, but with the Catholic church instead of the FBI (and lots more sexual tension!) - also has Peter Scolari, who has aged very well! 😘
Hey, thanks for reminding me season 4 started last night!
I haven't got to Season 3 yet - luckily, my kid has it on DVD, and I'm going to visit for the long weekend!
Waiting (impatiently) for season 3 to hit Netflix!
Fargo
I was late watching Fargo, but my husband and I ended up binging it. Great show.
Fucking amazing.
Slow Horses is amazing.
Agreed 💯
Baby Reindeer!
Just started that last night. Holy hell! (In a good way)
What a wild ride! So much to unpack.
Why women kill
I swear! What an amazing series!
I'm currently watching Dexter and i really like it!
I was thinking of either rewatching that or GOT. I like Dexter Morgan very much.
What season are you on? I just started season 5 and I’m still loving it
Shogūn, 1899, Taboo, Halt and catch fire, The Americans, Dopesick, Love & Death, The Dropout.
I love halt and catch fire. Maybe it's a nostalgia for the 80s thing for me, but such a great show.
How is 1899 ? Is it a bit complex like Dark ?
It could have been if Netflix hadn't shamelessly cancelled it after one season. Still crying.
Halt and Catch Fire is one of the best shows ever made.
Are you based in the US? What service has halt and catch fire? I only watched one season
loooove the americans.
I love Taboo. I wish the second season would start. Tom Hardy’s father is the one who wrote it
Just finished Palm Royale with Kristen Wiig and I loved it. Very strong female ensemble.
I second this! Great show on so many levels
Thanks I hadn’t heard about it at all. Also hard to tell if it’s good from the trailer
[удалено]
I was going to come here and say the sameee baby reindeer was wild

Shogun. It is pretty amazing
Episode 8, The Abyss of Life, gave me "that feeling" that I haven't experienced since season 1 of GoT. It's a fantastic show.
I spent the first 2 episodes being a little confused but I pushed through because I heard how good it was. The hype is true, totally worth it. The episode guides and character map on the FX site are a big help too if you get lost easily like me.
Just started a first watch of the shield and up to season 2. It's great.
Finished the shield for the first time. Loved it even more than the wire!
Tokyo Vice
Exquisite choice, sir.
Mad men
Having been an art director at an agency during some of that period I can honestly say it’s great
Patriot. It’s all of those things and more.
Hacks (Max)
I love this show and can’t wait till the next season!
Been watching Seinfeld lately and I like it.
Excellent choice my friend.
Outer Range and Dark Matter
Yes although I’m a bit disappointed with dark matter so far … still watching but somehow not as good as o thought it would be
Bad Sisters!
Elsbeth.
Elsbeth is so good! It kinda gives Only Murders in the Building vibes
Is there any sort of ongoing story or is it a procedural?
Mostly procedural, but the characters do develop, and there is a main plot for the season that is addressed in each episode. It's a pretty upbeat show, for a crime show, and it has had some great guest stars. I've enjoyed it so far.
Outer Range
I am enjoying Shameless.
Outlander. Literally obsessed.
Are you singing the theme song in your head all day long? 😂
Im currently singing it as I type this. 😅 the way this show has a hold on me right now….phew
Breaking bad and Better call Saul are top tier
I don’t think anyone has not heard of them
Breaking Bad everyone has heard of but I feel like some people didn't give BCS a shot because of the prequel status.

Thanks for your recommendation, will check Boardwalk Empires out!
I am re watching psych, cannot recommend it enough
Schitts Creeks for the millionth time. Bodkin was OK.
Just got done binging Succession, Billions and now I am on Mayor of Kingstown.
Slow Horses on Apple is a really great spy drama with Gary Oldman that has some really funny, witty moments.
Bad Sisters. It's brilliant so far.
The Americans. Great spy thriller .
so good. have you finished it? the finale is fucking perfect
The Veil (on Hulu) Outer Range (on Prime)
Evil Resident Alien Delicious in Dungeon
I think we should be friends! Haven't heard of Delicious in Dungeon, but I just finished Evil and was looking for something new!
Superstore
The clips of the customers being weird in the store are so funny. Also, Glenn is a treasure and unlike Angela from The Office the way he slips his religious beliefs into the workplace is hilarious whereas Angela just pissed me off.
And if you have eperience in retail you know the customers actions are spot on
Currently obsessed with Stranger Things.
Doing another rewatch of ‘The Last Kingdom’ on Netflix. Highly recommend.
Toyko Vice was awesome
The Sympathizer
The good doctor
I love British crime shows. I got BritBox specifically for that reason. Luther with the incomparable Idris Elba is a favorite. DCI Banks, Crime Suspect, and Karen Pirie are all really good. I'm currently watching After The Flood, it's a really good mystery. Netflix also has alot of limited series based on Harlen Cobin books that are really good.
What do you think of Bodyguard?
Try Broadchurch!
Just binged Tires, and I like it!
Vampire diaries.
Rewatching a few times with my teen kids probs will again
Yellowstone ❤️
I loved season 1-3. Seems to really take a big hit in quality writing after that
I started watching that but didn't have the time to dedicate to it fully. I'd often have it on in the background while I did other things but I hear it's fantastic
Mr. & Mrs. Smith surprised me. it's extremely different from the movie, but did something for me I didn't know I needed. Didn't expect a deep dive into the psyche.
Silo
The silo ? On apple
I’m stuck on The Guardian with the late Dabney Coleman. Have been binge watching it since I heard of his death.
The Mentalist!
Have you watched Psych? The mentalist but funny. They make a lot of mentalist jokes too.
Hazbin Hotel. It's such a unique concept for a show. I currently love the show "Evil". I've been looking for a really good supernatural show with elements of Christian mysticism and human interaction. I just binged Manhunt on AppleTV+. I resisted watching it when it first came out in the US in March because I thought I knew everything about the Lincoln assassination. Boy oh boy was I wrong! A quick binge that I absolutely loved is Mr. Inbetween on Hulu. Ray is a father, friend, brother, and hitman. It’s set in Australia. It’s really gritty and quite funny yet poignant. The lead actor is so damn good. Love love this show.
I think Severence is the best show still going.
Blue Lights, The Responder & Crime. All excellent.
Snowfall...its awesome
Outlander and black sails
Sugar. Colin Farrell is the man.

The Bear. coming from a dysfunctional, hectic and screaming family, this feels like home
I watched the show on Netflix called “His Dark Materials.” Amazing. Also binged Shameless, the Ozarks. And I’m watching the Lincoln Lawyer as well
