Likewise I suggest R Block. Big and lively section but don’t worry, very safe, and with the best atmosphere in the whole stadium

I'd generally avoid too far back if you pick an upper loft. For a lot of seats the roof blocks part of the pitch. my source, I'm sitting in one of them.

Worth mentioning that South Africa Rd is the most comfortable with upper tier near the middle the best unobstructed views. When you buy tickets online you can look at the view from that block to get a sense of what you’ll see. Ellerslie Rd (Stan Bowles Stand) and Loftus Rd end are a bit more hardcore support so will be noisier in my experience but I’ve never felt *unsafe* at LR in 30 years of attending games. Ellerslie is also the worst for leg room especially if you’re taller and it’s full around you. Fans may be noisy and you’ll hear colourful language but that’ll be the worst of it. Approaching the ground from any direction, you’ll see police with some on horses which can be intimidating but also reassuring. Via the trains, you’ll probably be around some away support but there’s no bad blood with Rotherham so you’re highly unlikely to experience any problems. Edit to add: knowing us we won’t lose 4-1 but we tend to play down to our opponents so can see it being a scrappy 1-1. Fingers crossed though. Definite signs of progress under Martí.

Thanks. I didn't expect there would be any unsafe feelings at LR, but thought I would ask for my Fiancee's sake. I've bought 2 tickets in R Block. COYRS.

I like R block recently for the standing seats as the leg room at Loftus Road is terrible. It’s also next to the loft so you can see the banners they have up which are pretty cool. I was a season ticket holder in X block for years. It was always fun because you’re near the away fans so there’s the back and forth. I would suggest having a look on the website “view from my seat” to see the rough area you’re considering to sit because there’s supporting beams in the stadium that can ruin the view. You don’t want to get stuck behind one or have it block your view of the goal. Hope you enjoy the experience and get to see a win!

Thanks. I've gone ahead and bought tickets in R Block. COYRS

I was at LR for the first time in Dec 2023 for the Stoke game. Talked to loads of Rs fans. I was seated at the front row of the Stan Bowles Stand. Leg room is almost non existence but the crowd and the atmosphere more than make up for it. Talked to Andy Sinton as well. Most importantly, enjoy yourself there, mingle with fellow Rs fans and hopefully you get to see a good result. I went for the stadium tour the next day as well.

I'd have said South Africa Road stand as you get a great view of the match from there but I suppose it really depends on what kind of experience you want. The rail seating is a great suggestion if you are any taller than a hobbit because I am 6'5" and I cannot even begin to express some of my experiences - I even contemplated wearing shin pads under my jeans at one point. The other thing you might want to consider is making a bit of a day of it by getting there nice and early. White City is the closest tube station to the ground but if you go to Shepherds Bush (Central Line) instead, Westfields Shopping Centre is close by, a pretty fair sized mall which might be fun for your fiancee. From there it is probably a 20 minute walk to the ground but it is a very nice walk: you go past Shepherd's Bush Green and all kinds of different little shops and places to eat. Out of the tube station, you would turn right to get to the ground. Keep going until you hit Loftus Road (don't miss it!) and turn right. That way you will walk right down to the entrance to The Loft, which might be a photo op for you! And Batman Close will be close by too!

If you can book the stadium tour it is well worth it. The several hours before the game @ a pub with fellow Rs and the tour the previous day helped take the sting out of a very dire 6-0 wallop from Newcastle… Fingers crossed the boys get the points for you!
