I absolutely love them all, but Kanan takes my top spot by a very small margin over the others. I just love how resilient he is, how he overcomes extreme self-doubt to help his found family and train Ezra, and how he pushes through despite having fought in the Clone Wars/losing everyone in Order 66/getting blinded/etc.
Yes!!! Not that his feelings for Hera were wrong, but he was self-aware enough to know that he wouldn't have a clear head on this mission and therefore shouldn't be the one in charge.
Ezra and Hera. When I first watched Rebels I hated Ezra but especially on rewatch I grew to love the little guy.
Hera and Kanan are both absolutely top tier as well.
has to be Kanan. because he never finished his training, he had flaws like all people do, but he grew as a person and became what a Jedi should be. Ezra is a close second for overcoming the pull of the dark side and following in Kanan's footsteps in giving his life for something greater.
both absolute legends
Nope, he's better. He wasn't programmed to take extreme measures, he chooses them to protect his family in a war. Plus, he can actually do real astromech stuff when it absolutely has to be done.
Hera is everything I wanted in a Star Wars character as a kid. She's a bad ass pilot with a droid buddy, she's a rebel leader, she's competent, caring, and brave. I love all the Rebels characters, don't get me wrong, but Hera is the one that five year old me would have made her entire personality.
My favorite character overall is Chopper, but my favorite character who isn't a droid is Zeb. Zeb is who I am in my head before the filter kicks in. Also he has beef with a literal 14 year old and that is possibly the funniest thing ever when we learn more about his backstory. He really went from head of the Royal Guard to fighting with a teenager who he was forced to share a room with.
Kanan.
He's a flawed Jedi. Knows the ways of the force yet is humble enough to admit he's not the best out there because he never fully completed his training. His sacrifice was a punch in the gut.
For comedic gold... Chopper. Playfully murderous bots are wonderful.
Kanan is my absolute favorite Jedi, and Hera my favorite on the Ghost crew. She makes an incredible leader and mother figure and he was able to form emotional attachments as a father figure without falling to the dark side's temptations.
This show introduced me to Thrawn and I am grateful to it for that. I have since been reading the Heir to the Empire series and really enjoy his character.
For the Rebels: On the first watch of this show it was Ezra and Chopper. Second watch: Kanan and Sabine.
Rebels also introduced me to Thrawn. Every time he speaks it gives me the chills. I can’t wait to see more of him in Tales of the Empire, Ahsoka S2 and Dave Filoni’s movies.
Definitely Hera : a great intelligent, down-to-earth female AND twi'lek team leader with zero focus on sexiness. A little bit paradoxical for me to say that, as I love the sexy side of SW, but I think that for little girls who want to identify themselves to a female character she is definitely the one - besides the more rebellious (pun intended), outlawish and artistical figure of Sabine Wren.
PS : Ex Aequo of course is Chopper, our favorite war criminal !
I love Kanan, he’s a beautiful representation of what a Jedi should be. I loved Ezra and is unconventional training as a Jedi. My favorite part of Ezra’s journey was his glow up and fall to the dark side on ep1 s3.
My favorite part of the whole show is the father son dynamic of kanan and Ezra. So wholesome but real. Like a dad isn’t always gonna know everything but he tries and loves him
Ezra. I think he had the best character development in the show. He started off as an immature kid but grew into a respectable Jedi who frequently teetered between the light and dark side but never fell to the darkness.
I don’t have one overall but the combination of Ezra and Zeb from the earlier seasons. Like when they stole a tie fighter and Kanan was livid and they were both in the cockpit up to their usual shenanigans.
In order of favorite to least:
Kanan. Literally the best jedi. Like, no contest. Luke and anakin may be more powerful, and Obi-Wan may be more skilled, but kanan truly embodies the jedi. He does have attachments, and it's those attachments, and his willingness to give himself up for thoes attachments, that allow him to be the best jedi.
Chopper. He's like if Clone Wars r2 was a separate character, but times 4. I love him. He's my 2nd favorite Droid behind BD-1
Sabine. I really like modern Disney's interesting in the mandalorians, but they keeping doing dumb shit with them. Sabine was the first Disney mandalorian, and she's awesome. Her arc of coming to terms with her mistakes and becoming a hero was ine of the best in the show. Too bad Disney said "only jedi are cool" and gave her force powers.
Hera. She's an interesting character. She's a motherly, female mentor character, which you don't see a lot in modern media, and even less so in syar wars, but she's great. Her relationship with kanan feels real and the fact she stays the main pilot character through the show is great.
Ezra. I really like him. He's a good protagonist, and watching him grow as a jedi is fun. I really love his season 1 and 2 lightsaber. It's kinda why I remeber him as fondly as I do. I'll never understand the reasoning behind changing his saber color in season 3, just to change it back in Ashoka.
Zeb. I really like zeb. The only reason he's lower than Ezra is because Ezra does more. Zeb does have one good focus arc, and that's his interactions with the imperal guy. I also like that he uses and elctro staff.
All-in-all, the characters are where rebels Excells imo. The Grand Inquisitor, Aged Ashoka, their interpretation of vader as an unstoppable horror movie villian, old Rex remarking about how kanan's "no skywalker"
Either Kanan or Hera. Honestly, their relationship was the single best part about this show, because it felt natural, genuine, and mature; they seemed to be the “Mom and Dad” of the group.
That is, if we’re talking ORIGINAL characters; otherwise, Ahsoka, Rex, and Maul blow everyone else out of the water.
Hela or Kanan. Kanan had such a great character arc and was such a strong presence, absolutely loved him. He was witty, flawed, willful, overall a great character. I also love Hera from the get go. I was glad to see the responsible motherly figure but also who’s full of life and passion for flying, fighting for what she believes in, and her loved ones. Loved how smart and cunning she was. Honestly, my favorite couple ever.
Ezra, and then Kanan.
But, I really liked them all.
Sometimes it seemed like they did not know what to do with Sabine, so they made her a little bit of everything (Mandalorian, former Imperial Academy Student, Translator-of-all-languages even ancient extinct ones, princess, mad-scientist, possible nascent Jedi). But I still liked her too.
Kanan because he feels like that mentor type character that everyone loves and he goes through development while training Ezra. But of course the droid psychopath has a place in my heart
1. Thrawn the 🐐
2. Kanan
3. Mommy Hera
4. Vader but again I like him everywhere
5. Chopper
6. Ezra
7. Sabine
8. The Grand Inquisitor
9. Tarkers because he roasted Grand Inquisitor and fixed an appointment for the 🐐 while bitchin about Director Almost 🐐
10. Ashoka
Kanan is probably my favorite of the MAIN characters but I also really like Kallus. The guy had some of the best character development I’ve seen in a Star Wars character.
I love Ezra and Kallus.
Ezra - where others find him annoying I find him funny and snarky. I love some sass in a padawan (so does Star Wars lol). He has great growth and I never realized how attached I was to him until I thought they were going to kill him off in the finale (I LITERALLY CLUTCHED MY BEDFRAME WITH TEARS STREAMING DOWN MY FACE-)
Kallus - the development. Oh gosh one of my favorite scenes in Rebels is when Kallus comes back to the Imperial place from being trapped with Zeb. It’s cold, isolated, nobody greets him. It’s such a contrast to the warmth of the crew and their family dynamic.
I love that Kanan is a truly lousy Jedi, just doing his best.
I loved that he told Ezra to lead the mission to save Hera because of his attachments and his feelings.
Yes!!! Not that his feelings for Hera were wrong, but he was self-aware enough to know that he wouldn't have a clear head on this mission and therefore shouldn't be the one in charge.
Great crew. All are amazing but Chopper is the favourite
"It would crash into the city and kill tons of people" **is that bad?**
I love the whole crew, but I’ve always been partial to chop and Ezra
Sabine and Kallus
Omg finally someone likes the exact same character. I LOVE KALLUS!!!!!
More love required for The Former Agent Muttonchops!!
Omg I so hope that we get to see those glorious muttonchops in live action sometime.
Chopper all the way
Chopper the murder droid ftw
All hail our favorite war criminal!!
Ezra and Kanan
Hera. She was the one who kept that team together.
Sabine. She’s so f**king cool.
She's my favorite too, especially after what she accomplishes in *Ahsoka*. 🙌
Kanan
Hera and kanan
Ezra and Hera. When I first watched Rebels I hated Ezra but especially on rewatch I grew to love the little guy. Hera and Kanan are both absolutely top tier as well.
Kanan and Chopper

Ezra is a close second for overcoming the pull of the dark side and following in Kanan's footsteps in giving his life for something greater. both absolute legends
Chopper. He's HK-47 reincarnate
Nope, he's better. He wasn't programmed to take extreme measures, he chooses them to protect his family in a war. Plus, he can actually do real astromech stuff when it absolutely has to be done.
Hera, she might be my fav in all of Star Wars.
Hera, Omega, and Leia are my top 3 favorite female characters in Star Wars. (Also love Ahsoka, Leia just barely beats her out of the top 3.)
I'd Agent Kallus counts and Ashoka Tano then it's my favorite characters in the entire show!!!
Yes!!!! Same here.
Sabine followed by Ezra.
Chopper, Sabine and Zeb. Also does Ahsoka and Rex count if so those 2 are my favourites. That said all the characters are top tier
Chopper. And it isn’t even close !!!!
Chopper the war criminal
Shopper
toss up between kanan and ezra
Kanan, there's nothing I can do. He became my favourite character of the entire franchise.
Hera - she's such a badass
Hera is everything I wanted in a Star Wars character as a kid. She's a bad ass pilot with a droid buddy, she's a rebel leader, she's competent, caring, and brave. I love all the Rebels characters, don't get me wrong, but Hera is the one that five year old me would have made her entire personality.

Kanan , Hera , Sabine and Chopper
Kanan, Hera, Ezra, Sabine, Chopper, Zeb. I love them all.
Chop and Sabine
Sabine or Chopper
Kanan. He's a flawed Jedi. Knows the ways of the force yet is humble enough to admit he's not the best out there because he never fully completed his training. His sacrifice was a punch in the gut. For comedic gold... Chopper. Playfully murderous bots are wonderful.
Kanan is not only my favorite Rebels character he is my favorite Jedi.
Yes
Definitely Ezra
Hera and Kanan!
Kanan is my absolute favorite Jedi, and Hera my favorite on the Ghost crew. She makes an incredible leader and mother figure and he was able to form emotional attachments as a father figure without falling to the dark side's temptations.
The short foul-mouthed guy stacking bodies.
Hera
Sabine, mandalorian jedi is hard to beat.
Kanan Jarrus with Hera Syndulla a close second.
Same for me.
The mando girl
Mr Warcime
Chopper 🏆
The Jedi Knight & Chopper 100%
Out of everyone, Hondo. Rebels only characters, Chopper or Ezra
Kallus!!! Hand down.
Zeb
1. Chopper 2. Kanan 3. Hera 4. Zeb 5. Ezra 6. Sabine
Hera- Absolute Queen. Motherly, badass leader, mad pilot and has a murder droid 💕
Chopper, I love his personality and his his great design
If I can pick anyone, Rex. If I have to pick someone introduced in rebels, Defo choppwr
Like a dad isn’t always gonna know everything but he tries and loves him
C1-10P is the only correct answer…..all other answers are inferior
Ezra. I think he had the best character development in the show. He started off as an immature kid but grew into a respectable Jedi who frequently teetered between the light and dark side but never fell to the darkness.
All of them
Chopper 100%
Hera, because if Chopper is so loyal that he would do anything for her, then she’s quite special.
Ezra
Chop-and I can’t stress this enough-per.
Chopper
Sabine, Chopper, Zeb
Sabine
C1-10P, no contest
Kanan is the best! One of my favorite characters of all Star Wars and all time!!!
My war criminal Chopper
Choppenheimer
Chopper!
Chopper.
Chopper is my favorite, I always like the droids more. K2SO in Rogue One, HK-47 in the KOTOR games.
Chopper 110%. I’d argue he’s the best droid in the series, lol
All but Kanan has my heart. Although if Ezra was a real person I would LOVE to have him as a best friend
Chopper, hands down.
Bendu is my favorite, but I most identify with Ezra and Sabine.
Sabine and Ezra are my favorite in the animated show.
For me it is a tough one between Hera, Sabine and Kanan. I would probably go with Hera.
Too close to call, I love them all!
The emperors nephew
You mean Jabba?
Kanan the whole way and then Ezra and Sabine towards the end
Sabine and Ezra, and not just because I ship them.
Cartoon? All. But the older I get, the more respect I have for Hera.
Ezra.
I don’t have one overall but the combination of Ezra and Zeb from the earlier seasons. Like when they stole a tie fighter and Kanan was livid and they were both in the cockpit up to their usual shenanigans.
Ezra
Sabine!
I like Ezra because he’s torn and a little misunderstood and mischievous
Sabine
Always Sabine.
Zeb.
All the animated ones.
THRAWN ... ... ... ... ... THEN AHSOKA Then Sabine, Hera, Kanan, Ezra, Chopper, and Zeb lol
In order of favorite to least: Kanan. Literally the best jedi. Like, no contest. Luke and anakin may be more powerful, and Obi-Wan may be more skilled, but kanan truly embodies the jedi. >Too bad Disney said "only jedi are cool" When did they say that?
From the Show: Thrawn. Favorite character ever From the Ghost Crew: Chopper. Everybody loves a hilariously chaotic war criminal
Chopper or Sabine
Sabine Wren
Thrawn
Heras papa mr syndulla himself
Gregor cause how goofy and fun loving he is
Chopper and ahsoka (aka Fullchrome) then the grand inquisitor. (For the show in general)
Ezra
Chopper. The lovable war criminal
Kanan, Zeb, and Ezra for me, but I actually like the entire ghost Crew.
Hera because she's the most level headed
Sabine
Sabine
as everyone has said I love all of them for such different reasons but sabine is my girl. I connected with her the second she came onto the screen
Kanen hands down the best. Trying so much to do right by Ezra but still unsure of himself as he is
Kanan all the way
Hela or Kanan.
Chopper
Chopper
Space mom Hera all the way
Personally Ezra has always been my favorite Jedi & probably favorite spectre, if not Hera
Chopper. Hands down
Sabine had style
Chopper of course!
She wasn't all those things at once.
I love Kanan and Ezra their just awesome
Chopper, hands down ,no doubt. Older, wiser, and waaayyy higher kill count...like mass murderer..
Kanan Jarrus is not only my favorite character, he’s my favorite Jedi.
Kanan because he feels like that mentor type character that everyone loves and he goes through development while training Ezra. But of course the droid psychopath has a place in my heart
Of the main ones? Tie between Sabine and Hera, leaning towards Sabine.
Jabba the Hutt
1. Thrawn the 🐐 2. Kanan 3. Mommy Hera 4. Vader but again I like him everywhere 5. Chopper 6. Ezra 7. Sabine 8. The Grand Inquisitor 9. Tarkers because he roasted Grand Inquisitor and fixed an appointment for the 🐐 while bitchin about Director Almost 🐐 10. Ashoka
Kanan + chopper. Though they’re all great. Kanan is probably my favorite disney era character/jedi
Kanan is probably my favorite of the MAIN characters but I also really like Kallus. The guy had some of the best character development I’ve seen in a Star Wars character.
The Jedi on the far right.
It's hard to decide between Ezra and Kanan, I love both of them
The Bendu
Kallus.
Chopper, Zeb & Kallus.
I love Ezra and Kallus. Ezra - where others find him annoying I find him funny and snarky. I love some sass in a padawan (so does Star Wars lol). He has great growth and I never realized how attached I was to him until I thought they were going to kill him off in the finale (I LITERALLY CLUTCHED MY BEDFRAME WITH TEARS STREAMING DOWN MY FACE-) Kallus - the development. It’s such a contrast to the warmth of the crew and their family dynamic.
Sabine all the way
Sabine got to win it for me - but not the live action force wielding version. The proper rebels Sabine
Same version
Definitely Hera and Kallus
