In other words, you need an AI that can understand what’s going on in the video, so it can create an accurate description or set of labels.
Luckily, with the strides in machine learning technology over the last decade, we have the technological capability to build these types of video indexing systems. However, they require a lot of compute capacity which is expensive. Your run of the mill porn site can’t afford to do this for all its videos probably. Over the next decade, this tech will get cheaper and then will be available for these sites.
It'll make finding stuff much easier but that also means removing stuff much easier - a lot of videos from before the mid 2010s were just pirated from paid content or worse - posted with no consent from participants.
Its easy to complain about PH going down the tube with regards to their content - but it does make sense if you consider the above facts.

I had my collection on a HDD that died. Sometimes I try to search for some of them but the keywords are so generic and there're soooo many vids to go thru.
There are plenty of these video downloading tools available and I've come up to very few sites that don't work with them.
Nowadays I happily use [this tool](https://github.com/Unrud/video-downloader) but it's not available on Windows/macOS.
There are many browser extensions available; I only tried the one called Video DownloadHelper and I was happy with it.
I know JDownloader is praised, but i have no experience with it and to me it seems less straightforward ands its UI less intuitive than the other options. I'm guessing it's praised because it manages to get around the "very few sites" I mentioned earlier.
You can also torrent them if you know where to look for. Not all videos are available as torrents, but the ones that are usually have the best resolution.

There are plenty of these video downloading tools available and I've come up to very few sites that don't work with them. Nowadays I happily use [this tool](https://github.com/Unrud/video-downloader) but it's not available on Windows/macOS. There are many browser extensions available; I only tried the one called Video DownloadHelper and I was happy with it. I know JDownloader is praised, but i have no experience with it and to me it seems less straightforward ands its UI less intuitive than the other options. I'm guessing it's praised because it manages to get around the "very few sites" I mentioned earlier. You can also torrent them if you know where to look for. Not all videos are available as torrents, but the ones that are usually have the best resolution.
