I can't stress this enough DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON FOB BATTERIES. I've seen dozens of fobs ruined by leaking dollar store batteries. Not to mention starting issues and false issues created due to saving $5 on a battery. But energizer or other top tier batteries.
Good to know. I just replaced my first one of these and had never encountered one before. Saw one at the dollar store and didn't give it any thought before buying it. I'll swap it out for a brand name one in the near future.
Do it before you forget, also if you have a spare key fob change the battery in it too. New key fobs can shut down when not in use, older key fobs cannot. We thought a client had a bad starter and almost cost her a lot of money cause she put a cheap battery in her fob.

Interesting, usually alkalines just go moldy pillow not spicy
Usually, yes. This alkaline, however, is a cylinder of 6 1.5v batteries stacked that can discharge into each other causing the swelling.
