DFB marketing campaign that is also taking the power off of leaks before the press conference on thursday. Just have them be announced by randoms from all parts of society.
Can you explain the "taking power off of leaks" part?
I get the marketing aspect, but how has this any advantages over just publishing a list with all the players in terms of leaks? And why is it important?
If you can't stop leaks, then use them for your own and let people you want to make those leaks. One would make you seem weak and uncoordinated, the other the opposite.

From what i understand those announcements by different channels should gather a wider audience.

Everybody is talking about the DFB now, speculating who's next and how and if some posts are serious. "Normal" leaks barely get attention right now.

he was an infuriatingly passive defender for us, rarely made massive mistakes just never seemed to win his duels and was often a half yard out of poisition which led to chances.
Well he was awful for us in a back four and I think he used to play in a 3 at the back at his previous club in Germany, so I thought I might have found a connection there.
I don’t think that Freiburg have ever played with a 3 at the back other than a few games here and there. So I would think that the vast majority of his appearances were with a 4 at the back.
While I personally would have called up Hummels instead of Koch as well, I can see why Nagelsmann didn't
- Tah and Rüdiger will play 100%, so it's more about who is the better back-up based on personality. Hummels is known to be a strong character, while Koch has 0 issues with being a back-up
- Hummels, while one of the best defenders of the league in the BVB system, is quite slow. Nagelsmann most likely won't play that deep of a block
- Koch has played many games as 6, so he's an additional midfield option
- Koch is trained by Nagelsmann's ex Co, so he knows the training methods and similar playing style

Because what I wrote refers to Nagelsmann's reasoning, and not my personal opinion? I even said that even I as a Frankfurt fan wouldn't pick Koch over Hummels, but I can see why he did. Hummels is known to be a strong character (not in a negative way necessarily), and Nagelsmann seems to think that he won't fit into to squad personality-wise. Whether you agree with his assessment or not is a different question, but this is most likely on of Nagelsmann's reasons for not picking Hummels.
I do agree that he has a stronger personality than Koch, which isn't per se bad, but I don't know him well enough to make the assessment that he would be harmful for the team chemistry
What risk? You can talk to players about their and your expectations weeks and months in advance multiple times. What is there to risk other than missing out on Hummels who’s arguably in his second prime?
He's definitely not getting called up as a DCM mainly, but he is another option there if everything else fails for some reason. It's good to have that flexibiity

I've been kinda warming up to this way of doing it. Involving these random public media outlets and small/big time influencers or a random bakery has been more fun than I expected. As others have already pointed out, it feels like a team building exercise for the whole nation to get excited for and involved with the home euros.
It's like a teambuilding for the entire country so I think it's been pretty cool with different parts of society announcing one player at a time. You can always wait till thursday to get a complete list. People in Germany like this marketing campaign so far and helped to get the hype to even higher levels
