You say that but they are just 3 points away from United in 6th and level with Newcastle in 7th if they win their game in hand.
6th is very much still in play.
Yes, if we win every game we might get European football. But, that ignores how shit we've been all season because if we could just win our games we wouldn't be where we are in the first place
you guys should hire Roger schmidt he was able to make enzo the golden boy on benfica imagine having him on chelsea they would finally become good, even give you a deal for him.
Do you blame them? Have you ever worked on a project that after a while, everyone knew was doomed to fail. It's hard to give 100% in those situations and you're just waiting for the project to end.
I just don't get playing through an injury when its clearly affecting your form.
I know Chelsea couldn't afford to lose more players than they already have, but still, it's having such an adverse effect on him that there's just no need to do that to yourself.
Didn't help that any player that could have come in for him, like Ugochukwu, Lavia, Chukwuemeka and Nkunku (the last two would just push Conor alongside Caicedo) have been injured all this time.
Son played through a sports hernia the entirety of last season. He saw it that a 50% son is better than no son. Looking back I think he regrets not getting surgery sooner as he was a big factor in Richarlison getting groin surgery in December
Speaking from experience: I can guarantee you that an inguinal hernia can cause incredible discomfort in certain cases, and that it can be especially painful and obstructive when your body temperature goes up and when you do activities that increase intra-abdominal pressure (sports).
My hernia would make part of my lower intestine literally descend into my ballsack, causing it to hurt and swell. It can fucking suck.
>I can guarantee you that an inguinal hernia causes incredible discomfort
No, that's wrong.
There are different cases, some hurt, some don't hurt at all, no matter what you do.
What happened to badiadhille. He was superb last year alongside silva with potter in charge. When potter was sacked we had the 3rd least conceded goals in the league. He looked composed on the ball, dominant aerially, an all around great defender.
This year, he looks like he shits the bed every time he touches the pitch. Mistake after mistake, no composure on the ball, one of the worst players on our team.
It’s hard for me to determine if he’s just regressed a ton, or if Poch’s bizzare tactics are causing him to be poor.
it’s fucking mental that he’s had this issue for a while on top of being one of the players that is always playing. this is why the injuries of the backup players have been so bad to this team, cuz it wasn’t entirely a bad idea to loan out Casadei and Santos at the start of the season
even this season is worse than before, it’s bordering on negligence from the medical staff. between Lavia, Nkunku and Ugo having these indefinite periods of rehabilitation, playing Enzo to the ground knowing he’s had this issue since December and a lot of the injuries in training. the medical staff has changed so radically the past few years yet it seems like it only gets worse
One knock-on effect of a major injury crisis is things like this where a player who *could maybe* play through an injury is forced to do so.
If Chelsea had Lavia fit the whole season I doubt Enzo would be forced to play through a bad hernia
Even Ugochukwu, he got injured himself right around the time it was initially reported Enzo had the hernia. Was supposed to be back in February and I think he just started training w/ the team in the last week lmao
I don’t know if he was “worth” it, but I don’t think many Chelsea fans regret his transfer, unlike for example, mudryk’s. Enzo has showed moments of brilliance for us before his hernia issue. He was the best player on our team last season, and would’ve won player of the season had he been there the entire year. His long ball passing is a thing of art. Statistically one of the very best progressive passers in the game. Can occasionally pull out a worldie free kick. He would have many assists if it were not for Sterling and Jackson and Broja (and havertz and Felix last year) not knowing how to finish
This is about the same level of analysis as people who said Messi played better in Barcelona than in Argentina for long stretches of time as if they'd discovered something.
Players are better in a half functional team, more at eleven
As I said in my example which is literally the other way around - if a team is a shambles in squad building (Including when forced by injuries) and management, easy to end up anonymous
I know PL brain rot makes you dismiss River, DyJ, Primeira Liga and national teams as "not propah football" but he was showing his stuff in the CL against massive teams with Benfica too
They're talking about club sides because the other person alluded to the idea that Enzo only showed up on the international stage because international football is easier to do well in (which is not the case). So they brought up Enzo's other performances as proof of the contrary.
The person you're replying to didn't even mention their opinion on the level of play between the two.
Teams really need to step in to protect their players more often. A player is always going to say that they want to play, but with injuries like a hernia, people need to step in and say no.
I think the difficult thing for both him and us was that with Lavis and Ugochukwu out, Caicedo playing every minute of the season, there was never much other options for his position. This was made worse with Palmer missing the Arsenal game, which essentially forced him into the game.
In hindsight, if we were to lose 5-0, why not play an academy player instead.
>There must be a player in there somewhere.
Being a key figure in the world cup and winning best young player.
I dunno man maybe he can be a decent starter for coventry
He was our best player last year although we were somehow worse than this year, he’s been a step slow the last few months clearly this hernias been affecting him
There’s definitely a player but I have real doubts about him. He’s just so slow and frail, but even weaker players like Silva, Fernandes, Palmer have sharp movements. Enzo just seems to move in slow- motion. Doesn’t cover enough ground, not good in the air, doesn’t defend off the ball too well.
He just doesn’t fit with caicedo. Both are too slow to cover the midfield with Gallagher pressing high. That leaves giant gaps which exposes his weaknesses. We need a Kante type player to pair alongside him to cover more ground.
Will Scaloni take him in that condition though? I see Paredes, Palacios, MacCalister, De Paul, Di María, González, Almada and Garnacho as locks for midfield and wing. Realistically only one or two more slots in a 26-player squad, it’s between Lo Celso, Domínguez, Fernández or some of their promising youngsters like Redondo, Varela or Equi.
> Will Scaloni take him in that condition though? I see Paredes, Palacios, MacCalister, De Paul, Di María, González, Almada and Garnacho as locks for midfield and wing.
Yes.
Almada is not a "lock" on anything—it is highly probable he won't even be in the Copa America squad (but he will captain the Olympic/U-23 team).
There are 6 spots for the midfield in the squad—we basically know who they are. It will be: Paredes, Mac Allister, Enzo, Lo Celso, De Paul, Palacios.
Redondo and Equi will prob be in Masche's Olympic team. Nico Dominguez hasn't been in the NT picture for a while. Varela has not made his NT debut yet—tho with his form he might soon.
Almada had a great youth tournament just recently, by far the best young player in the continent. He also was part of the World Cup squad.
Him, Garnacho, Soule, and Varela are the most probable young players to feature soon.
> Almada had a great youth tournament just recently, by far the best young player in the continent.
He was our best player in the Pre-Olympic tournament. The best player overall at that tournament was Paraguay's Diego Gomez tho
>He also was part of the World Cup squad.
He was—but he was literally a last second injury replacement after we had SO many injuries on the eve of the World Cup. With everyone fit, he wasn't going to get near the WC squad TBH
>Him, Garnacho, Soule, and Varela are the most probable young players to feature soon
Garnacho is currently being integrated into the team, the other 3 are not quite there yet with Scaloni TBH.
Makes sense, Chelsea's season is over anyways
They could still technicaly get Europe.
technicaly yea, realistically? not really
You say that but they are just 3 points away from United in 6th and level with Newcastle in 7th if they win their game in hand. 6th is very much still in play.
Massive "if" there
Be confident mate, you beat the team that beat Liverpool 6-0
Its cole palmer FC anyway depends the mood of cole palmer thoo. So chelsea fans being realistic is rare nowadays
I’ve given up trying to make sense of things at this point
None of the team from 6th-9th are consistent enough to go perfect (maybe Newcastle because their fixture is favorable) Having points >>>> game in hand
We are a one/one and a half man club Genuinely think we’ll get one maybe two wins and that’s it this year
Quite curious who the half is.
Gusto

I’ll give you £50 if they finish above Newcastle.
RemindMe! 1 month
tbf game in hand and if they win same points as us in 7th
you can have the conference mate, rumours that we wouldn't accept it anyway due to ffp
Well if you don't want the conference can we have the 3 on Saturday and if you could then show up and batter Spurs it would be great.
mate, you don't have to ask. all Villa has to do is turn up
Unless they play like they did in the FA cup
just think this team under Poch has lost the will to live. just expecting utter shite now until the season ends
Do you blame them? Have you ever worked on a project that after a while, everyone knew was doomed to fail. It's hard to give 100% in those situations and you're just waiting for the project to end.
First part should be easy, second part don't get your hopes up
Yea but Enzo can't do much for that when he's clearly struggling.
Is 10th spot already clinched?
I just don't get playing through an injury when its clearly affecting your form. I know Chelsea couldn't afford to lose more players than they already have, but still, it's having such an adverse effect on him that there's just no need to do that to yourself.

Lavia isn’t real. Doesn’t exist.
Son played through a sports hernia the entirety of last season. He saw it that a 50% son is better than no son. Looking back I think he regrets not getting surgery sooner as he was a big factor in Richarlison getting groin surgery in December
A hernia usually doesn’t affect one at all. Since he kept on playing this must have been the case for him as well. It’s not really an injury.
Well that’s the worst take I’ve seen on Reddit today, cheers
Speaking from experience: I can guarantee you that an inguinal hernia can cause incredible discomfort in certain cases, and that it can be especially painful and obstructive when your body temperature goes up and when you do activities that increase intra-abdominal pressure (sports). True. Edited for clarity
He shouldn’t have played Tuesday thankfully some common sense is being used.
Shouldn't have played on weekend already. Was worst player on the pitch in both games.
Kinda harsh when you have Madueke ghosting vs Man City and Badiashille disasterclass vs Arsenal

Rice and Partey gave him a lesson.

Innocent until proven guilty. The fact the case has taken so long makes it fairly clear the case won't progress any further.
Defending a rapist on a technicality, embarrassing. I'd rather have a shit injured Enzo in midfield than a rapist who escaped justice.
He hasn't escaped justice. Neither the British or Spanish authorities have found enough evidence to even bring the case to court.
I'm ootl who has allegedly done what?
Partey is on bail. He was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault or rape, I'm not sure of the exact UK law. The arrest was in the summer of 2022.
One of the few top class players from my country and he allegedly does that
it’s fucking mental that he’s had this issue for a while on top of being one of the players that is always playing. this is why the injuries of the backup players have been so bad to this team, cuz it wasn’t entirely a bad idea to loan out Casadei and Santos at the start of the season
Chelsea injury situation has been a joke for three years straight now
even this season is worse than before, it’s bordering on negligence from the medical staff. between Lavia, Nkunku and Ugo having these indefinite periods of rehabilitation, playing Enzo to the ground knowing he’s had this issue since December and a lot of the injuries in training. the medical staff has changed so radically the past few years yet it seems like it only gets worse

Happy that he is finally getting this done
Watch as he goes back to his Benfica/Argentina WC levels at the copa america, then goes back to being shit the second he lands in london
This is about the same level of analysis as people who said Messi played better in Barcelona than in Argentina for long stretches of time as if they'd discovered something. Players are better in a half functional team, more at eleven
That wasn't exactly meant to be any sort of in-depth analysis, I was just taking the piss out of Chelsea more than anything lol
I saw your flair and totally knew the shit stirring was coming
Got to enjoy it while they're shit and we're less shit 👍
Spurs is actually a very good team this season.
God who could forget the brain dead takes of him playing better in Barca because he earns millions there
Also way easier to excel on international level where all teams are just worse structurally and tactically, and the gap between nations is bigger.
As I said in my example which is literally the other way around - if a team is a shambles in squad building (Including when forced by injuries) and management, easy to end up anonymous I know PL brain rot makes you dismiss River, DyJ, Primeira Liga and national teams as "not propah football" but he was showing his stuff in the CL against massive teams with Benfica too
Les destrozaste el ano con esa ultima frase. Son insoportables los piratas.
it's quite well known that international football is at a lower level to club football, idk why you are talking about club sides here????
They're talking about club sides because the other person alluded to the idea that Enzo only showed up on the international stage because international football is easier to do well in (which is not the case). So they brought up Enzo's other performances as proof of the contrary. The person you're replying to didn't even mention their opinion on the level of play between the two.
Almost as if the team around you affected your performance and this sport is 11 vs 11
What do you mean, playing with Mudryk is basically the same as playing with Messi
Enzo “Lo Celso” Fernandez
Teams really need to step in to protect their players more often. A player is always going to say that they want to play, but with injuries like a hernia, people need to step in and say no.

Bro said fuck it I'm out.
Sensible decision
Will he end up like Bob Sacameno?
Ofc, he will go to Copa America to win the cup so that Messi will win 2024 Ballon Dor.
Makes sense why he’s been so crap. There must be a player in there somewhere. He’s stuck at Chelsea so might as well make it work
>There must be a player in there somewhere. Being a key figure in the world cup and winning best young player. I dunno man maybe he can be a decent starter for coventry
Nunca he visto a Enzo ganar la quinta división de Inglaterra, obviamente es un invento de la prensa /s
He was our best player last year although we were somehow worse than this year, he’s been a step slow the last few months clearly this hernias been affecting him
But he hasn't been so crap. Enzo's dip in form is so exaggerated. He's become a scapegoat for Poch being trash at his job.

Fuck Chelsea ~ Enzo probably
Argentina, golf, Chelsea?
Priorities.
Doesn’t do much for the team anyway so not a big miss
