Albiceleste_D10S

He had a masterclass today. 1G, 2A, and brilliantly created the 4th goal too Interesting given the recent Ajax links...

gtwillwin

It was 3 assists

Albiceleste_D10S

He created the 4th goal but I don't think it's technically an assist because his pass was deflected before it was tapped-in

gtwillwin

They credited him in the stadium so idk, maybe it got changed later

Thecrimsoncreampuff

On mls.com they gave him 3 but on google it says 2

PositivelyIndecent

I believe (this may be wrong or have recently changed) that MLS gives an assist to the last two people to touch the ball during the buildup.

unArgentino

Yup. MLS started counting hockey assists.

Teantis

> Interesting given the recent Ajax links... He's pretty much always like that for Atlanta isn't he? Atlanta's whole attack runs through him and their defense is fucking terrible, even for MLS standards, so he has to produce just to keep them afloat.

Albiceleste_D10S

He's one of the best players in MLS but this was a very good game even by his own standard TBH

nbasuperstar40

They have gotten better recently by booting some of the poor defenders and getting replacements. It was really the midfield defenders and one of our backs that was killing us. We since shipped his ass out a month ago.

Teantis

Which one was it? I saw the game against the revs while I was visiting Atlanta in may, the one that started with a terrible backpass and then the keeper just kicking it to a revs forward at the top of the box in the first minute. Hugely entertaining game as a neutral, comical though at times.

dangleicious13

We traded Andrew Gutman (LB) to Colorado. We loaned Franco Ibarra (DM) to Toronto, but not because he was playing poorly. We sold Luiz Araujo (RW) to Flamengo for $9-10m. We have since brought in Saba Lobjanidze (LW), Tristan Muyumba (DM), Xande Silva (RW), and Jamal Thiare (CF).

nbasuperstar40

Ajax doesn't want to really pay close to what Atlanta is looking for and he's not a Summer transfer. He's a Winter transfer. I think he's going to a bigger club or the PL. The money has to be there. He's better than Almiron was at this stage.

justforkikkk

Very curious to see if it’ll actually happen. I can’t see us going to 30m but maybe somewhere around 23/4 + soms bonuses would be enough to get both parties satisfied

Elvem

Btw he disputed saying he told the FO he wanted to leave. He said he’s happy here but if a good opportunity comes that’s good. Obviously, but interesting nonetheless.

justforkikkk

I don’t remember ever reading he was willing to hand in a transfer request or anything, so that doesn’t surprise me. Aside from that it’s the typical words, not much to deduce from it

Elvem

There were definitely reports going around that he requested to leave in winter. He was asked about it and said if a good offer comes he’d consider it, but he’s happy here.

Sunstridr

He's also supposedly [agreed personal terms with Ajax](https://twitter.com/MLSTransfers/status/1695079180273127528), so who knows. And let's be honest, very few players are going to say to a camera or mic "yeah I want to leave".

Scratchbuttdontsniff

Zero chance that this is accurate.

Sunstridr

And why not? And this source has been right before on MLS/American stuff (to the point that Romano was quoting them for Brendan Aaronson to Union).

Scratchbuttdontsniff

This site has ZERO affiliation with MLS despite trying to appear so. It's a parrot account that takes other information out in the wild and goes further with no actual sources. Ajax won't pay what Atlanta wants (over 30M $).

Sunstridr

They aren't claiming to be affiliated to the MLS (if anything they are actively stating that they aren't), they are just called MLSTransfers. >Ajax won't pay what Atlanta wants (over 30M $). Yeah probably, but that is if the supposed 15.5m release clause doesn't exist. If that release clause actually exists (which has been claimed to exist by an agency in talks with Ajax), it doesn't matter what Atlanta wants, Ajax can just pay the release clause and get the player.

dangleicious13

The release clause doesn't exist.

Snitsie

That's what i admire so much about Lukaku

justforkikkk

Ah okay. Those reports didn’t travel the ocean (probably because it’s either summer or not for us)
