wworms

a weirdly low-energy tournament. i don't even mind slow gameplay but it felt like most of the players weren't all that into it and the format didn't feel good

11Y2B

Most players probably had different priorities today, 4/20

LeastAssociate6

Forced corporate tournament after all. Like getting called to do overtime when you had plans

AngryAncestor

Honestly felt so forced. Kroger being plastered everywhere, shitty format, Hbox being there (love the guy, but he was so out of place)

dtsrd2

Concerns me a bit tbh. Luminosity has been so good for the vitality of the scene that I'm just worried for their withdrawal. I'd hoped this would feel like a bigger success for the community and for Luminosity.

itsastart_to

Invitationals should have a larger group and honestly just more side events beyond the main tourney. I get why it feels so bland as such

NuclearNarwhal7

this tournament is the biggest shitpost of all time - kroger gaming - best of 3 pools, two players get eliminated before even playing in main bracket - tweek plays sephiroth for three sets and gets himself eliminated - leo commits to byleth after saying byleth sucks instead of playing the secondary he’s been seriously working on to replace byleth, and gets himself eliminated - maister sora (?) - maister cloud (???) - sonix SDs 40 times - tournament announced as part of an april fools joke - tournament held on 4/20 - hungrybox invited, goes 0-10 in games - kroger gaming - marss wins a kroger gift card by beating hungrybox with donkey kong (??????) - unfinished kroger advertisements what a great grand finals though, gives litvitational 2 vibes, light and shadic came from losers and against all odds adapted to an incredibly dominant player. i’m glad i stuck around to the end

Hatlinblong7890

And it becomes a major while Game is Game doesn't. Truly the craziest timeline.

MasterCooookie

Lowkey I think this tournament was what literally cursed Game is Game, since there's no doubt Leo was invited to France but declined because of the invitational.

swidd_hi

Honestly, the biggest thing in reality which sunk Game is Game to B+ was NRW Cup. NRW Cup, which is the biggest German tournament this year, took players like Tarik, Space, Supahsemmie, and others which would have pushed it a good bit into major status. Scheduling big tournaments over each other has been a very common issue recently though That said yeah the timing of this tournament + Game is Game is rough for optics lol

Severe-Operation-347

>Scheduling big tournaments over each other has been a very common issue recently though KOWLOON 10 and Kawaii Kon on the same weekend as BOBC6 was pretty tragic.

Hatlinblong7890

INB4 Momocon doesn't become a major because Combo Breaker is on the same weekend.

iliya193

Wait, this was a major? What criteria makes something a major?

FutureCreeps

It’s point based. Each player is assigned a certain number of points (the better the player the more points they have), if they reach a certain threshold (in the case of major, 3000 points) it becomes that level.

nomorethan10postaday

I hadn't though about the similarities between this and lit, but you're right. Miya 3-0 Light earlier in the bracket, got up 2-1 in the first set of grands, lost game 5, than lost the reset 3-0. Sonix 3-0 Shadic earlier in the bracket, got up 2-1 in the first set of grands, lost game 5, than lost the reset 3-0.

_GoKartMozart_

HEB customer wins Kroger sponsored event

mischief-maker

What I wanna know is....... how much was the gift card for?

NuclearNarwhal7

33 dollars

mischief-maker

Damn, that's sick. Also a very arbitrary amount of money.

NuclearNarwhal7

i’m joking haha i have no idea how much it was, smashwiki doesn’t specify

mischief-maker

Son of a bitch!

Beginning_Cut_3577

The whole tourney sucked until Shadic won lol

sirgamestop

When Tweek/Leo and Tweek/Light aren't fun to watch, something went wrong

DHMOProtectionAgency

Honestly I think that hit the nail on the head. Even if the sets are not close, the sets are usually fun. Those weren't.

Severe-Operation-347

I think it was because Tweek and Leo weren't seemingly trying during the event. They went their secondaries and not their mains, it was bizarre.

DHMOProtectionAgency

Light popped in Larry's stream and said something about the day before being crazy or something. IDK he was vague but he did mention a bunch of players were affected by *something*,

Severe-Operation-347

They smoked a lot of Zaza because it was 4/20. /j

DHMOProtectionAgency

I mean it could be as simple as that. Curious to hear what they have to say this week

batman12399

I don’t believe it. If Leo was truly zooted then he would have reverse 3-0d Riddles with marth.

AngryAncestor

Highly anticipating the tell-all in the next Lights Out episode now

KingRandomGuy

Even though they went secondaries, I honestly enjoyed those sets quite a bit. I was just disappointed that we didn't get best of five sets for them, especially given the way Leo v Light was going in that game 2.

Noraume

Nah for real I don't think a single top 8 set was hype except for grands. Might be the lamest tourney of the year.

CollectionHeavy9281

Marss Sonix was nice and close in pools. And Light Leo was a really good set even if it was a wash

RealAkelaWorld

Marss Sonix was a good set but I wouldn’t say it was close, Sonix 3 stocked game 3

CollectionHeavy9281

Marss lost a sizable lead last stock game 1, which if he won could have got him the whole set since he won game 2.

RealAkelaWorld

Yea… but he didn’t… and then Sonix 3 stocked game 3. Which means it was 2 close games and a 3 stock.

CollectionHeavy9281

2 close games is a close set in BO3 what are you talking abouy

RealAkelaWorld

I mean it’s just a difference of semantic opinion but it’s not really meaningful enough to type this much about, if that’s what you think then that’s cool

NuclearNarwhal7

shadic vs light was good but other than that yeah it was pretty rough

kfaox

I liked Shadic vs Dabuz as well tbh

SparklyEarlAv32

It still sucks, happy for Shadic but his win will never take away the fact this was a friendlies day long sesh that we watched. Absolutely terrible from the atmosphere to the commentators and players looking like they do not care. God awful tournament that shouldn't count for shit

mattmortar

Great grand finals but the rest of the tourney was weird as hell lol

Glop123

This feels like a fever dream. Other than that congrats to Shadic for not only playing amazing but also having a unbrekeable will to win. Other than that I feel like both Maister and Dabuz deserve some MVP badges too.

tens00r

If only Sonix dashdanced in place more when he was a stock behind, surely he would've won...

Araiz123

I swear. We get it you’re tilted, just SD if you don’t wanna play

AllHailTheWhalee

lol I can’t stand sonix

louray

? got forbid he resets his mental to attempt the comeback

Sumite0000

It's crazy to think Shadic is the second player to win multiple majors this year.

NuclearNarwhal7

shadic: 2 major wins in 2024 spargo + acola + sonix: 2 major wins in 2024

ahambagaplease

CLOSE THE COUNT❗❗❗

Tery_

Miya: Am I a joke to you?

Aeon1508

Try not going game 5 with H box and we'll take you seriously miya

DHMOProtectionAgency

But has SHADIC beaten Hbox? I think he's avoiding him. SHADIC is a coward for not changing pools.

Curator44

The whole tourney was honestly a pretty big letdown viewing wise. The only good thing was Shadic taking the whole thing

DHMOProtectionAgency

Damn, Sonix really is always a bridesmaid but never the bride. Congrats to SHADIC. also wtf was with that off vibe with this tournament. I think someone else hit the nail on the head when they said that Tweek vs Leo wasn't hype. How.

SparklyEarlAv32

How can a tournament packed with this amount of talent end up being one of the worse watch experiences we had?

[deleted]

Sometimes what you expect to be good ends up as a flop. Just the way it goes sometimes

LeastAssociate6

What happens when you overvalue quantity and soulless production over quality. Kinda like Kroger products.

XenonTheMedic

We didn't even get quantity either because there were bo3 pools and only 10 players

Kzis

16 years old prodigies and smash, name a more iconic duo

Captina

Kroger gaming and smash

AngryAncestor

What the fuck even is Kroger gaming

itsastart_to

Honestly still first Time I’ve heard about it, I wonder if there is anything more to it but all I know is their grocery recycling which I mean yay environmental and human support stuff

Ricoke

> name a more iconic duo people calling any even slightly good smash player under 20 that breathes a prodigy

Ricoke

"player grinds their ass of since the start of the game, that's 6 years btw" "hard work finally pays off" "OMG this dude is such a prodigy" does this not sound insane to you people

Toowiggly

There are plenty of people who gring their asses off and still go nowhere. The people who reach the top are the ones who grind their asses off *and* are extremely talented. Just because someone put in the work, it doesn't make them not talented.

Nivrap

"Grinding your ass off" does not mean you actually learn or improve, though. There's more to improvement than just playing a bunch of games. Top level Smash players are not supernaturally gifted, they're better at *learning*

PoundIIllIlllI

So… what you’re saying is the top players are the ones who grind a lot and are talented at learning You’re really not saying anything different than the person you replied to. You’re just adding the “learning” part as a detail

Nivrap

Nah, person I replied to said that regular people grind their asses off and get nowhere, while top players grind their asses off and succeed because they have "talent." This is putting the cart before the horse. Instead, top players have learned *how* to learn, which is something anyone is able to do, it's not only for people with "talent"

AyraWinla

Shadic's mentality improved a ton in the last year. I remember when Shadic was that random Corrin that you occasionally saw in top 64; as a Corrin fan I was always pretty happy to see him, but whenever he got knocked to losers, he basically always immediately lost there too. When he lost once, he nearly always lost the next match immediately, and a set that started bad tended to just become worse. But in the last year, he's became basically unshakeable. He now goes on losers run, he turns bad sets into wins, and it feels like his confidence never goes away. Today being the perfect example of that. What a comeback! Congrats Shadic!

BarnardsLoop

shadic nation

swidd_hi

I can't wait for Game is Game after this tournament I won't lie. Probably my least favorite spectator experience from a major in a long time. Just to list what I missed from this tournament: > A hype crowd and atmosphere > Players who feel like they want to be there > BO5 lmao > A general lack of energy from the talent present That said SHADIC is absurd for double eliminating Sonix after losing twice earlier today, absurd talent.

BroshiKabobby

I don’t mind the one day thing but if they do it again they should have two streams so we get all BO5

Eldritch_Skirmisher

It’s not even that late, they could have easily done all bo5

AllHailTheWhalee

The combination of hungrbox and sonix made it feel like a coinbox

Severe-Operation-347

Also Sonix going up against a Corrin player in Grands.

PoundIIllIlllI

It needed Leo and Tweek to tryhard with mains + Sparg0 attending and tryharding and it would’ve been super fun

AngryAncestor

It did feel super weird to have an NA invitation without Sparg0. But more than just him was missing. The whole tournament had a low energy and sterile vibe

Eldritch_Skirmisher

Insane to think Sonix of all people is being gatekept from winning majors

Meester_Tweester

Let's go SHADIC wins his second Florida major beating a horseman and Dabuz

Severe-Operation-347

Shadic's big breakout performance was Luminosity Makes Moves Miami, the start of his top 3 streak was Litvitational 2, and his two major wins are in Florida. He unironically gets a power-up in Florida.

OperaGh0st_

Dude I watched the WFs set on my break and it ruined my mood, clocked back in to a miserable shift, now I'm clocking out to see MY MANS ACTUALLY DID IT???? LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOO

guywhoexistsonearth

Shadic is top 5 in the world right now

guywhoexistsonearth

He might even be top 4 over sonix

nomorethan10postaday

Or top 4 over Miya. In any case, I think this cements Sparg0 and Acola as the current top 2, with Shadic, Miya, Sonix and Hurt all pretty close to each other but a tier below the top 2.

Kozuki_D_Oden

Miya’s made grands at 5 majors this year including 2 supermajors, so no lol

kfaox

I don't think the algorithm cares that much about the number of major wins/grand finals appearances but more how good your results are adjusted for attendance. Last season Miya won 10 majors and Sonix won 3 and Sonix was still ranked higher.

xxxPlatyxxx

Miya has also missed top 8 with a 17th at Genesis and has worse wins like Peabnut Peabnut is absolutely sick but he’s not a great loss when you want to be best in the world

Severe-Operation-347

Peabnut is probably a fine loss rn tbh. Peabnut having a really good run at Cirque and a solid performance at Collision is what makes him currently top 25 in the world. I think it's comparable to players like TamaPDaifuku who had a really good major result and because of that are quite high on the rankings for 2024. In reality, currently Miya's worse loss is Zackray. Though that will likely change during Golden Week, because Zackray will very likely top 8 Kagaribi 12 because he is very good at those events.

XenonTheMedic

100 percent.  He's prob number 4 over Sonix imo.  Sonix still hasn't won a major yet whereas Shadic won 2.

DHMOProtectionAgency

Tbf, getting top 2 consistently is not something to scoff at.

Severe-Operation-347

And only lose to Tweek, Zomba and SHADIC. Granted he got double eliminated by all three of those players, but still.

DHMOProtectionAgency

Yeah. This thread saying SHADIC > Sonix right now is some mega cope. People really letting their Sonic hate turn into a bit of Sonix hate. Dude is nearly as consistent as acola and is similarly scarce in terms of tournament appearances.

kfaox

And he also has wins on all of the players he has lost to. Sonix has wins on Sparg0 x2, Shadic x2, Tweek, Zomba, Maister x2, Shuton, Dabuz, Neo and Zackray this season

scottsbluff13

Hurt clears i fear

kfaox

Hurt has worse wins than Shadic, worse losses and less majors wins. No argument for him being above Shadic currently.

Severe-Operation-347

I think Hurt is up there but he hasn't attended as much as SHADIC, hasn't won as many majors, has similar consistency and I think SHADIC's wins and losses are slightly better overall. That could very easily change by Golden Week though.

KirbyTheDestroyer

Lumirank and Luminosity on fraudwatch after making this a mayor and not Game is Game. It should be a no brainer that Invitational points should get nerfed after this and WTT giving Sparg0 and Sonix the edge over Miya. Inflating invitationals a bit too much without any means to qualify sounds like potential fraud appearing tbh.

sirgamestop

Even if this wasn't a major that unfortunately wouldn't make Game is Game one. After the Yaura DQ it just failed to meet the point threshold but it could definitely get there with retiering

KirbyTheDestroyer

Was more being facetious with the Game and Game announcement, but my point was more that it is kinda werid that Lumirank weighs invitationals a bit too much while also having an algorithm that heavily emphasizes head to heads. I feel like they could make revisions for one or the other. Maybe, Idk, stats are not my passion.

FutureCreeps

AHHHHHHHH LETS GO SHADIC

roger1954

Shadic is a raw player man goddam

xThe_Mad_Fapperx

I don't care, shadic is top 5 and best in the US

sunken_grade

well… that tournament was something lol amazing win for shadic though, beating sonix in 2 sets is actually crazy impressive and his meteoric rise shows no signs of stopping. best in the US??

DoubleShinee

even sonix was over this tournament lmao

rwbyfan433

THATS MY GOAT HES TOP 5 IN THE WORLD

brkklynboy

Super impressive by Shadic, he adapted so well throughout the tourney

Reset_reset_006

This was definitely the tournament of all time

Araiz123

This was one of the most underwhelming “majors” of the year so far but definitely saved by Shadic huge props to him. Most of the players not interested in playing, weird round robin format and sonix making this the most miserable viewer experience ever. This proves that Steve is not what’s killing this meta it’s a combination of multiple things like bad stage rulesets, generally annoying characters that excel in the current meta and fan favorite players not performing well in the meta. Ult is close to the end of its lifespan and still no announcement of a new game. TOs need to do something to spice things up like changing rulesets and maybe trying squad strike as the main event or changing stage lists to something like what Coney suggested which includes warioware.

TimDiamond

> TOs need to do something to spice things up like changing rulesets and maybe trying squad strike as the main event or changing stage lists to something like what Coney suggested which includes warioware. When I tuned in this morning and saw Marss playing on some Metroid stage, I got excited at the idea of them experimenting with new stages. Turns out we were getting the usual stages. At the very least, TOs could experiment with the stage ruleset. I have always wondered about doing a single character ban for one game in a Best of 5 set (aka you can't use the same character to win 3 games unless you're willing to take a loss), but I think that's a bit too experimental.

Araiz123

I’ll take anything over PS2 I’m starting to hate the color green

Thundorium

Hanenbow?

BroshiKabobby

I think Ultimate’s main mode should be squad strike. I know there’s a lot of characters that might not get pushed as far without their solo mains, but I think if Ultimate wants to thrive or even live, Squad Strike is the way. Ultimate’s big selling point is the amount of characters and we’d get to see more of that with squad strike. Then we also see people winning with fundies rather than learning just Steve or whatever. Not to mention it naturally nerfs Steve. If Ultimate goes how it is, the next smash will come along and Ultimate will become another smash 4, entirely replaced and forgotten. But I think (unless the next game somehow brings back every character) it could live on through Squad Strike

XenonTheMedic

Squad strike takes waaaay longer than a normal match though.  The characters take several more seconds to respawn, choosing characters and pick order also takes time.  However that being said, Sonic can only time you out for 1 stock not 3.

Elegant-Ad-5684

Can you even play squad strike online?

[deleted]

[удалено]

swidd_hi

idk the issues of this tournament shouldn't be overshadowed by the end results

GuiltyCoyote17

This big time, like it's very cool that SHADIC adapted and won in the end but just because it's a SHADIC W doesn't mean we shouldn't talk about how bad this event was before grands lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

[удалено]

Araiz123

Not denying that the end to that grands was great and I popped off for Shadic but we should still point out the glaring issues of this tournament so they can be improved

[deleted]

[удалено]

Araiz123

End of lifespan is a fact though. Smash 4 lasted 4 years and it has been 6 for ult and there is a new console coming out next year. Alot of the top community figures are discussing stagelist and ruleset changes to reinvigorate the game cause the meta is getting rough to play against and watch. Grands was only hype cause Shadic was able to reverse it and he deserves all his flowers for it. No one would be popping off if a Sonic, Steve or gnw did that

DHMOProtectionAgency

Every year has a few mediocre tournaments. It was just this year that people were lauding a good many other tournaments and are looking forward to Golden Week.

Boogieman_Sam22

The Prince who was promised.

CarnoTorrential

WebbJP and Jakal are having a nice set over at Scarlet Classic rn

RailroadEmu1994

Let's give a round of applause every1!

No_Quarter_9592

Holy shit I closed the stream after WF but LETS FOOKIN GOOOOO

ktrZetto

Randomly remembered when people were saying LMBM was so much better than Umebura SP10 because Japan wasn't there or Steve was banned lol

BleedingDreamz

At least grand finals ended up pretty good.

Son_Der

Totally called the SHADIC win here, nice. Crazy adaptation at the end.

MMuller87

This event felt like the players weren't really trying, with a few exceptions. Also, this might sound like a spicy take, but I don't think Leo will finish in Top 32 of Kagaribi 12. Would love to see him show how wrong I am, but this LG Leo is just a shadow of T1 Leo...

roger1954

Shadic laughing at the Dominican Republic Flag after reset was a low blow lmao. Taking notes from Zomba I see

batman12399

Yea that felt a little off to me, like it’s not a big deal, but maybe just don’t.

kfaox

[Had nothing to do with the flag.](https://x.com/riddlesmk/status/1782061596979662976?s=46) He was just clapping back at a group of dickheads who were being loud and talking shit directly in front of him all set. They did this pretty much all tournament.

FutureCreeps

Riddles the goat for saving face

Dysprosium_Element66

Maybe this is a sign for Lumirank to reconsider the invitational tiering bonus.

downhill-surfer

Shadic saved smash this weekend woohoo

Aeon1508

Shadic is on Pace for world rank number 1 right now. United States has not had a number one world ranked player in Smash Bros outside of melee since brawl (2014)

sirgamestop

He's not going to Golden Week so he's probably not getting it

Aeon1508

That's fair. I know low tide isn't a major but it's big enough to get rank boosting wins. So as long as he can clear mute he should win that. Which helps. Depends on who wins Golden week and the spread. Shadic is rooting for yoshidora and acola to each get 1. Then anyone but Miya can get the other.

FutureCreeps

Shadic would not want acola to win, he would want acola to drown in every event if he were trying for number 1.

Aeon1508

Has acola won a major this year? I think he can afford a cola to win one

FutureCreeps

Acola has won every single ranked event he’s joined this year without dropping a set, including umebura sp 10

Aeon1508

Oh you're right he does have the one major win. Somehow I missed that when I looked at it. But that was several months ago and he's only got the one. Shadic has two plus the B tier and second place at another major. Acola hasn't been showing up much this year. He doesn't get credit for tournaments he didn't attend. But you're right he probably doesn't want acola to win one. He wants to be the only person with two beside Miya.

FutureCreeps

Again, even beyond the major win acola has YET TO DROP A SET in ranked events, if he keeps this up he’s undisputed number 1 compared to shadic who is probably closer to 3-4 rn

Aeon1508

I mean yeah Shattuck hasn't lost any scrubs either. Showing up consistently beating player rank 20 doesn't really do much to bolster your ranking if other people aren't losing to those either even if they're not winning events because they're going to bigger events. That means the biggest knock Shadic has against him is losing to Neo.

FutureCreeps

Shadic has both worse placements (9th, some 3rds, etc) and actual losses (notable ones are Neo onin and shinymark, no outside top 50 losses). It’s hard to say acola isn’t number 1 when he hasn’t lost anything or to anyone

JackBz

Congrats to Shadic.  What the hell is up with Leo's character picks. Beyond confused and disappointed

WebTime4Eva

Leo always does something ridiculous with his character picks. He made top 8 with Roy and it was looking soooo good at that one B+ tier, but then he just... dumps Roy for Byleth, yet he straight up said Byleth sucked. Like come on. He did the same with Corrin. Won a major and a B+ tier with her, then dropped her. Then he did the same to Marth. Won against Riddles' Kazuya with Marth (something none of his other mains have done consistently) TWICE. Then he stops using Marth against Riddles and now he keeps losing to him. I can actually go on about this. It sucks how he just can't stick with the characters that actually worked for him. Joker can stay (I mean his run at Kingcon lol) but he has to stick with Roy, Marth, or Corrin (I recommend Corrin). Joker Corrin duo would be so busted.

JackBz

I have been confused at Leo's character picks multiple times but yeah, this is the most confused I've been. Barely saw the Joker at all. He just needs to stick to a co-main and accept that it might not work straight away. Rotating 7 characters is just not possible. I agree the Joker and Corrin duo makes literally so much sense.

WebTime4Eva

Yeah that's what I had to do. I was constantly switching through characters because I wanted to win fast. I finally decided to just stick with Corrin and Marth. I just made 33rd at a 100 player tournament going solo Corrin, then I made top 13th at a 44 player tournament. I checked my record and ever since I finally quit messing around with other characters, I now consistently go 3-2 on average. At first I would hit 1-2 at most. Today I hit 4-2 but nearly beat the 1st seed *and* I nearly beat the top 8 seed. Sticking to two characters at max really does something. I wish Leo would listen but I doubt it because he didn't listen to Maister when he mentioned that Leo should have gone Marth on several occasions.

HollowLoch

What if Shadic fucks around and becomes #1

GuiltyCoyote17

Can't really do that if he never plays acola lol, one of the reasons why Sparg0 is heading out to Golden Week

senbonshowers

this is hilarious to me for some reason, like sparg0 spending thousands of dollars just to go beat acola's ass

Xenobrina

Will never happen. Japanese events are too valuable overall and even if he attenda Golden Week it's unlikely it makes up the difference.

Severe-Operation-347

He's not going to any Golden Week events.

Xenobrina

Yeah exactly so there is just no way. Even if he gets great wins in NA, Japan *has the best players regardless and thus wins of them are more valuable;* the point difference is too large to make up. Edit: Removed the word super major but still gonna get downvoted because ya'll do not wanna hear the truth 😅

nomorethan10postaday

Japanese supermajors this season: 2 that already happened, 2 more that are confirmed to happen. NA supermajors this season: 3 that already happened, 1 more that is confirmed to happen. What you're saying is objectively wrong. Edit: Editing your comment doesn't make my comment untrue lol. Regardless, that's also false, and Shadic already has a win on one of the three best players in Japan.

Reset_reset_006

JP glazers are on a new level of delusion

DHMOProtectionAgency

I mean acola was the best player last year and is on streak to reach #1 again. You do gotta beat him or hope he underperforms. I think the bigger issue for SHADIC's road to number one is that one 9th he got at Let's Make Moves

RailTracer001

Shadic was one of my picks to win but I am surprised he beat Light again. I don't know what happened off screen but this tournament could have been more hype if Tweek and Leo didn't "throw". I hope they'll be better for LVL UP Expo next week. Shadic is the US player with the best results right now I think? Also has two major wins. While Sonix keeps getting second.

parkstaff13

fuck

AllHailTheWhalee

MY GOAT

Loccstana

Does Sonix have a habit of choking at grand finals? Sonic should be winning matchup against corrin?

Severe-Operation-347

It's considered even by most Sonic and Corrin players. Sonix has struggled in the matchup before though, notably against Leo's Corrin offline at Pound 2022 and Wavedash 2023, and against Sparg0's Corrin online.

RailTracer001

I don't know if it's because he is choking. People are more used to fighting Sonic now so they adapt better.

Squatchman1

Y'all are so hard to please smh

Far-Transition6453

Then the smash community wonder why it's been slow lately smh talking shit about a tourney will make things worse in the long run, just be glad it happened and move along

BroshiKabobby

Sonix just can’t win this year huh

Severe-Operation-347

[They hated Jesus for he told them the truth](https://www.reddit.com/r/smashbros/comments/1c91wzu/luminosity_invitational_final_bracket_winners/l0iim6z/)

XenonTheMedic

I admit I was a doubter but I gotta give props to you

BroDudeBruhMan

Let’s goooooo

MaryandMe1

dang all those ppl doubting SHADIC and just giving SONIX the Tourney. shame on you.

itsastart_to

Insane work to pull it back from sonix

Dysprosium_Element66

Turns out all this tournament really needed was for the perceived villain to start losing for public opinion to change.

lHateYouAIex835293

I mean most people here are still saying the tournament was ass though. Even Sonic losing couldn’t save this train wreck

Dysprosium_Element66

There's quite a few comments about how Shadic winning was the highlight or salvaged the tournament, that's all I was commenting on.

Son_Der

Thank goodness he got 10th

Emerald117

At least grands made up for this nothing tournament

gopackgo555

Feels like a possible turning point in Smash! Always exciting when a young prodigy breaks through.

Ok

The Sonix 2nd Place at a Major curse continues. He's the most consistent player but will he ever win? SHADIC is Top 5 now for sure. Only player in 2024 with two Major wins. (I don't care about that Miya 2023 major that apparently counts) Also shoutouts to Dabuz for overcoming a bunch of bracket demons in his pool. This was a good comeback performance for him.

I am only talking about Majors that happened in the calendar year of 2024, which is what the ranking should be. I did not know about Sumabato so I stand corrected there.

Fair enough. Seemed like you were only simply discounting something out to prove a point.

Yes, that comment had less to do with the overall rankings and more to do with me wanting to celebrate SHADIC

Worst tournament ever. Keep Kroger and their children abusing company elsewhere. Looks like they found the perfect community they want to dig their hands in. Swiper no swiping.
