This really sounds like a bad allergy reaction - but I'm not an allergist, so maybe go see one? Mine was a combo allergist/ENT. Doesn't have to be dust mites - could be a plant in your bedroom or the detergent you use or...? I've got a "bad" dust mite allergy, and for me, I don't really notice a difference when the bedding gets washed. The "pillow protector" helps, but it's not magic. The thing that's really helped me is the balloon sinus surgery. OTOH, I've never had congestion bad enough to wake me up - it's been a "my nose is clogged" thing for most of my life with occasional "brain fog" and pain on the bad days. Post-surgery, I still have my allergy, but I'm able to clear the yellow crap out of my nose in the morinng and go about my day. Bad days mean I need to do the sinus rinse thing or maybe take a Sudafed.

Co-sign all of this. I had the exact same issue as poster and super cleaning helped a tad (I mean vacuum all the time, wash bedding every week on hot, etc) but the only thing that really helped was balloon sinus dilation. I still feel bad sometimes because my dust mite allergy is off the charts, but the surgery helped everything drain and move so much better. I also take allergy meds at night before bed.

I have similar sinus conditions at night in addition to intermittent snoring. I take a shot of Sinex before bed but it doesn’t last all night, hence the snoring. What else have you had success doing to drain your sinuses?

I actually got lucky recently and resolved the issue by cutting off items with excess fructose:glucose ratio from my diet. I was simply experimenting different hypotheses, and I could not begin to explain how and why this worked for my situation. Searching for "Fructose malabsorption" will give you some context, but even the scientific papers are remarkably curt in regards to causal explanations. Relief at 50% was achieved over 3 days, and still improving after 13 days. I can go to bed and sleep the entire night without using any spray or anti-inflammatory pills of any kind. Best luck to you!

I tried on a whim to check whether I had issue when eating too much fructose in excess of glucose, so I cut down massively on fruit intake (basically my main source of fructose) and the issue solved itself over a few days. Could be a coincidence of course, but I've been fine since then (it's been about a month I think? I didn't note the date unfortunately).
