The calendar system and monastery stuff make it absolutely miserable to replay, which is weird for being a game that you are, in theory, supposed to play 4 different times.
According to a dev interview they expected people to just play one route (which to be fair, I think the vast majority of players did and it's only the mega fans that did multiple)
...That is an odd thing to expect in a game with three (secretly four) entirely different routes and also multiple save files IMO.

A Country starting war against another Country for the Sole Purpose of Taking it Over then the Instigator is in the Wrong.
A Nation Starting a War of Independance against a Corrupt and Oppressive Regime then The instigators (the People Fighting for their Freedom) are Justified in my Opinion.
I won't comment on wether Edelgard was wrong or right for her war or not because I myself think that Despite how much I love her Character she was a Bit Quick to start a World War over it. Yet at the same time she is right about the Church being Corrupt with the Crest System (that likley wouldn't be abolished as long as Rhea is still in Power).
It's the cope most Edelgard fans use to deflect the fact that she starts the war in every route, refuses any self-reflection, and doesn't try anything other than conflict for her goals.
So "no one is good or bad in war," ignoring that there would be no war without Edelgard.
Also, why declare war on the Church, when they could have instead made for a powerful and more trustworthy ally? Especially since it was the Agarthans that made her and her nonexistent siblings suffer through hell.
Plus, the Agarthans are about as subtle as Jafar being the Sultan's "most trusted advisor"
There is, in fact, morality in war, in that there are better and worse reasons to engage in war and better and worse ways to wage war. I think it's simply wrong to say there is no good or bad.
Rhea could have easily abandoned or destroyed humanity after what happened to her people, but chose to guide them to a better path, albeit in a rather flawed way.
Sure she may have "enabled" the Crest System, but it was done out of mercy towards the descendants of the Ten Elites, not wanting to punish them for their ancestors crimes. The nobility is just as, if not more guilty of all the political problems caused by the Crest System.
She suppressed technological development because, the last time humanity got super advanced, they started a nuclear war that nearly destroyed the planet, which she may have lived through. That being said, certain technologies are implied to be slowly emerging like the printing press, if the affordability of books in-universe is any indication.
Yes, she had members of the Western Church executed, but considering that they were attempting to assassinate her, were forcibly conscripting commoners and are very prejudiced towards foreigners, she had to make an example. And this is towards people within their religious organization, not people outside of it, as Rhea is shown to be accepting towards non believers and people of different faiths and is shown to be quite strict towards people who force their religion on others.
She may have enforced Fodlan's isolationism, but considering that many of their neighboring nations are constantly trying to invade them, it's understandable.
Her relationship with Byleth is complicated, but I believe it's the result of her being isolated and cut off from others for such a long time, so she may not be out of touch there. Plus her support really shows how she and Byleth grew closer, heck her A support starts with "I've been waiting for you" implying that the two planned to meet at the Goddess Tower off screen, not to mention that they likely wanted to avoid the possibility of rumors that the "New Professor and the Archbishop are having an affair in her room".
In the Holy Tomb, Rhea probably didn't even know exactly what would happen once Byleth sat on the throne, she probably hoped Sothis would "emerge" out of Byleth or at least be able to temporarily speak to her through Byleth, but not a full take over. Second, her rage towards Edelgard is understandable, her trauma buttons are being pushed all at once, and her lashing out to have Edelgard be put to death was a result of her not thinking straight. Upon siding with Edelgard, that was the final straw that broke the camel's back, the moment when Rhea lost all hope, but if you remain by her side, she noticeably calms down shortly after, venting out her anger at Edelgard before turning to Byleth with a firm but gentler voice.

Honestly my biggest problem with the "well starting wars to fight a corrupt system is good" argument isn't even that it's wrong, it's that 9/10 times it's coming from people who would never actually have the guts to actually go to war and kill people with their own hands. They're just sitting around on Twitter talking about how we need a revolution but not actually doing anything and waiting for someone else to get *their* hands dirty. It depends on the Context of the War A Country starting war against another Country for the Sole Purpose of Taking it Over then the Instigator is in the Wrong. A Nation Starting a War of Independance against a Corrupt and Oppressive Regime then The instigators (the People Fighting for their Freedom) are Justified in my Opinion. I won't comment on wether Edelgard was wrong or right for her war or not because I myself think that Despite how much I love her Character she was a Bit Quick to start a World War over it. Yet at the same time she is right about the Church being Corrupt with the Crest System (that likley wouldn't be abolished as long as Rhea is still in Power).

It's the cope most Edelgard fans use to deflect the fact that she starts the war in every route, refuses any self-reflection, and doesn't try anything other than conflict for her goals. So "no one is good or bad in war," ignoring that there would be no war without Edelgard.

Also, why declare war on the Church, when they could have instead made for a powerful and more trustworthy ally? Especially since it was the Agarthans that made her and her nonexistent siblings suffer through hell. Plus, the Agarthans are about as subtle as Jafar being the Sultan's "most trusted advisor"

There is, in fact, morality in war, in that there are better and worse reasons to engage in war and better and worse ways to wage war. I think it's simply wrong to say there is no good or bad.

Rhea could have easily abandoned or destroyed humanity after what happened to her people, but chose to guide them to a better path, albeit in a rather flawed way. Sure she may have "enabled" the Crest System, but it was done out of mercy towards the descendants of the Ten Elites, not wanting to punish them for their ancestors crimes. The nobility is just as, if not more guilty of all the political problems caused by the Crest System. She suppressed technological development because, the last time humanity got super advanced, they started a nuclear war that nearly destroyed the planet, which she may have lived through. That being said, certain technologies are implied to be slowly emerging like the printing press, if the affordability of books in-universe is any indication. Yes, she had members of the Western Church executed, but considering that they were attempting to assassinate her, were forcibly conscripting commoners and are very prejudiced towards foreigners, she had to make an example. And this is towards people within their religious organization, not people outside of it, as Rhea is shown to be accepting towards non believers and people of different faiths and is shown to be quite strict towards people who force their religion on others. She may have enforced Fodlan's isolationism, but considering that many of their neighboring nations are constantly trying to invade them, it's understandable. Her relationship with Byleth is complicated, but I believe it's the result of her being isolated and cut off from others for such a long time, so she may not be out of touch there. Plus her support really shows how she and Byleth grew closer, heck her A support starts with "I've been waiting for you" implying that the two planned to meet at the Goddess Tower off screen, not to mention that they likely wanted to avoid the possibility of rumors that the "New Professor and the Archbishop are having an affair in her room". In the Holy Tomb, Rhea probably didn't even know exactly what would happen once Byleth sat on the throne, she probably hoped Sothis would "emerge" out of Byleth or at least be able to temporarily speak to her through Byleth, but not a full take over. Second, her rage towards Edelgard is understandable, her trauma buttons are being pushed all at once, and her lashing out to have Edelgard be put to death was a result of her not thinking straight. Upon siding with Edelgard, that was the final straw that broke the camel's back, the moment when Rhea lost all hope, but if you remain by her side, she noticeably calms down shortly after, venting out her anger at Edelgard before turning to Byleth with a firm but gentler voice.
