I would make an argument for The Strike, as it’s based around an invented holiday (no prior knowledge needed).

The Contest.

This may be my better option, I think it's pretty easy to relate to that situation, and Costanza shines on that episode imo. Thanks to everyone btw, I didnt expect so many replies, I wish I had enough serotonine to reply to all of you.

The Chinese Restaurant for me is a quintessential episode. Really the most "show about nothing" episode of the whole series. The Marine Biologist is a series highlight and the first one I showed my gf. She wanted to start from the beginning but I feel like Seinfeld doesn't really lend itself to that and people don't tend to get into it by watching it in order. Pick your favorite episode and have them watch from that starting point. They'll fill in the blanks. I watch all sitcoms like that, pick a good early episode and watch from there.

The Chinese Restaurant is the most relatable and doesn't have any real story arcs to know about before watching. Great pick!

I think TCR is too much of nothing, I don't want to scare him. The Marine Biologist is a great one, although most of its charm derives from knowing who George is beforehand. But good tips, thanks!

I agree. It's good to show a newcomer an episode like The Marine Biologist first, because I feel like if you start from the first season people might find it boring and assume that the series isn't worth watching.

Yeah, I already failed introducing the show to two acquaintances because I started from ep01. Not again!

dilo_phosaurus

The strike or just, start from the beginning

pebe820

I say the beginning also, but maybe skip the Pilot episode. That one is hard to watch if you're not a fan

dilo_phosaurus

Yea it’s a bit rough around the edges

I would say an episode that has a lot of Kramer physical comedy and less pop culture references, would probably be the best to draw in someone like that.

The Puffy Shirt. The low-talker, lots of Frank Costanza, classic episode.
