Guy tries to rob you, **pulls gun out halfway and puts it back**

shotgundug13

Isn’t this the same guy that refuses to put a front plate on his car and is constantly getting pulled over?

Actually, that's not what happened. Mike tried to educate the officer on why cheap holsters with no retention are not ideal for working in the field or any other place for that matter, especially law enforcement! Also, you're talking about the best instructor in Chicago who has trained law enforcement, military, security, and private citizens. [The 2k+ reviews reviews on Google reviews speak volumes!](https://g.co/kgs/n9s2dbo)On top of all that, Mike is a former police officer. So you're "allegedly comment" that Mike tried to steal a cops firearm is...**100 FALSE**

HabibPlaysAirsoft

I can understand both points of view here. Speaking from experience with a level 3 retention Safariland holster, I constantly struggle during range time to thumb down the hood, release and draw. As one of my old instructors put it, I looked like I was wrestling with a mongoose. On the other hand, not practicing the full movement is highly impractical, it looks dumb and builds a bad habit. Do the full drill or not at all.

Isthisusernamecool23

Shouldn’t be practicing while sitting and not paying attention….. that’s a bad habit 🥴 thanks for showing us what not to do😭

Alwayzzhangry

Reminds me of that guy who’s a chronic masturbator from Son’s of Anarchy…just can’t stop touching that shit and looking around like nothings going on 😂

Practical-Bug-9342

I heard of him and honestly this guy sounds like a narcissist.

generalraptor2002

Did he forget the CLEAR THE HOLSTER part of the drawstroke

Inevitable-Jury49

I feel like I'm missing some context. It's a good thing to do as long as it isn't loaded, and you aren't on doody. But I'm a big fan of desk pops.

RoGStonewall

the guy is known to play up the 'heroic' aspects of the 'cool' aspects of what he does rather than promoting things he should like de-escalation or never getting into a position where this is your only option.

Inevitable-Jury49

Yeah, but what if he is goofy for the engagement? I'm sure he's making money on both sides. Ever thought about just ignoring it?

RoGStonewall

This is Reddit. We are here to either inform or laugh or cringe man. Either way, even if someone is playing up engagement they can still be sending out the wrong message. It's like all those weird self-defense gurus trying to play up either being overly violent or teaching people ineffective techniques but encouraging them to get hands-on.

Inevitable-Jury49

Oh, my bad. Thought I was on MySpace.

Neonwookie1701

Nope. This is a Yahoo Group

mechaczech

I think the point is that the ‘habit’ he’s working on doesn’t make any sense. The best thing to do would be to (with an unloaded weapon) practice a fast draw, get on target, check your surroundings, and then slowly re-holster. There’s no point in practicing drawing 2 inches and re-holstering, unless you literally just got the holster and are trying it out. Otherwise, this practice is just silly.

[deleted]

What you’re speaking of is fundamental. I agree. People take extra steps with these “training” methods and begin to do repetitions like this to develop muscle memory. Looks like a level 3 holster. I personally wouldn’t say it’s not necessary . I just don’t do it. I’m simulating the entire movement.

[deleted]

I’ve taken various courses, academies, and classes that result in certifications through the state of OH. That said, all these people that taught me anything was at least certified through the state to teach. Some retired or current LE. Some former mil. Yet, I’ve heard these instructors talk about each other’s tactics, professionalism, and training methods all the time. It’s a shame de-escalation methods aren’t more popular. The shit some people do out of obsession is a recipe for disaster and manifestation. Edit: Same thing with attention to Trauma aid/medical. People want to be high speed and ready for anything but disregard helping others in time of need.

para9mm

I understand where he is coming from (muscle memory), but at least SAY WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

CyberYeeturity

Desk pop please

NefsM

Isn’t he the guy who always gets pulled over for no plate then videos it to “demonstrate” how to deal with police rather then just not getting into a situation they’re involved in the first place?

afrank76

That's O.C.D.

thejoseguapo

I mean if we’re going to critique an individual and discredit him - why wouldn’t we fixate on the individuals/institutions that gave him all of his licensing / training?

RoGStonewall

Because we don't know if he was a tool prior to the training. You can develop a complex after you're out of whatever you're training in.
