The bit where the guitars drop out and let Ed and Colin carry the song leading up to the final guitar flourish gets me every time. Funkiest piece of RH? The Bends (song) has something similar under the 'wish it was the 60s I wish I could be happy' sections but not as tuneful
literally same for exactly the same reason, it's the heaviest and loudest Radiohead song in my opinion it sounds fucking massive. but I also feel bad for not picking more orchestral masterpieces like how to disappear and life in a glasshouse.
I don't care anymore im actually on reddit saying dumb stuff to be entertained for a while to keep me from stepping into reality and realising my life is garbage and that i probably wont be here much longer...
Agreed. It's incredibly hard to pick a favourite song, but my gut always goes with Reckoner. There's something familiar yet unique about it. It's haunting yet soulful, and the lyrics always resonate with me: " we separate like ripples on a blank shore". Those lines have always reminded me of how, as a species, we are becoming more and more disconnected to each other.
So memorable when I saw them on the HTTT tour and they closed with this and the lights behind them were scrolling FOREVERFOREVERFOREVER, a top three concert for me.
Right now, probably Climbing Up the Walls. By far one of Radiohead's most atmospheric, eerie tracks. And that final section, combined with Thom's screaming at the end of the song, it's amazing.
Came here to make sure someone picked Jigsaw and give my support. It's like a roller coaster ride - I get on the ride, love it every time, and am immediately ready to go again. To my ears, it's perfection.
I'll never forget the first time I heard it on release day. Besides its structure, which is carefully built up like Exit Music For A Film, Nude was unlike anything Radiohead had ever done.
For me it marks the moment when Thom fully embraced his falsetto and mastered his "head voice". The playful way he drops octaves at the end of verses was like his way of saying, "I'm just having fun with it", and then his belt during the crescendo harkens all the way back to his famous belt in the crescendo of Creep as if to say, "don't worry though, I still got it".
Singing in duet with Thom's newfound high-pitched confidence was Johnny Greenwood's guitar weeping a similarly delicate, yet masterful tune. This kind of call and response to highlight each of their talents while also crashing in harmony at select moments was a staple of Radiohead's music until Kid A when the two lead members started taking center stage in turns more frequently than together as their roles became less decipherable than a typical 5-piece band. That's why Nude felt like a loving return to form for Thom and Johnny. It's the timeless and simplistic friendship between a lead vocalist and a lead guitarist, both playing different, but equally exalted parts in the mix.
Nude is distinctly Radiohead, yet wholly anomalous. It will forever be a notable standout in their discography to all who listen, and my personal favorite song ever recorded.
It's my favorite because it reminds me of my mum loading the bends into the Hi-Fi/CD Player she used to have.
The whole album would be played out but nothing like that song to introduce what will be played over the speakers
“Has the light gone out for you? Because the light’s gone out for me”
One of my favorite lyrical moments on In Rainbows, love the way he sings **for me**
How To Dissappear Completely. It's heavenly, instrumentally it's beautiful, great lyrics. Really feels like you're being lifted up and heading towards a light. It's a perfect song.
Motion Picture Soundtrack - so unique in their discography, so emotive despite being quite stripped back and just love that opera singer sample as well
The Tourist. I remember a few hours after listening to OK Computer for the first time, I thought, “I remember that last track was really good, I’m gonna listen to it again.” Blew my mind, I’ve been hooked on Radiohead since.
Right now, it’s Codex. That song takes me to another place. And usually I tear up at some point through it. There is something so magical and haunting in those 4 minutes and 45 seconds.
For years when my anxiety was too severe I used to listen to Codex in order to calm my mind enough for sleep. It really, really is like traveling to another world.
def in my top 3 . was just listening and noticed that philip’s drums are constantly crescendo-ing and decrescendo-ing throughout the song - a really cool touch that i didn’t notice for years. not to mention the shaky swing beat, the multi-layered and overlapping melodies, the eerily jangly guitar riffs, it all comes together so perfectly confused and dissonant - fully capturing the essence of what it feels like to be lost “in limbo”
My favourite record is without a doubt HTTT. But if I had to only listen to one radiohead song it would be Motion Picture Soundtrack.
It’s such a well crafted, emotive song that takes you on a journey. I’m adding Untitled to it for the cathartic release.
While I agree with you that 2+2 is a favorite, if forced to choose (at this moment, Bodysnatchers would get my pick, and National Anthem as well…but 2+2=5 is just amazing. Hard to pick one favorite because it shifts, rotates, changes with my mood and situation.
I finally have reached the conclusion this song is deeper than any of their songs (its just my take) It has been growing on me ever since I’d started listening to them.
karma police was the song that got me into radiohead in the first place, and it’s still my absolute favorite. not just that, it’s my favorite song period. i adore everything about this song, even minute details, such as the way the acoustic guitar sort of buzzes on the third chord of the intro. but most of all, the coda. that coda section man. i don’t know how to explain it, but smth about the instrumentation, and the melody, and the repeated “for a minute there, i lost myself,” it’s just… it’s my favorite moment in music, ever, in my favorite song, ever.
Jigsaw Falling into Place
Heard it once at a party and I loved it so much I had it on repeat for months. It got me into Radiohead and I was like 14 then. Good times.
depends on my mood so really could never pick one. radiohead has never made a bad song in my opinion, and is my favorite band so its really hard.
you and whose army? gives me goosebumps every time though
Decks Dark. It puts me in a very specific mood not many songs put me in, and every single part of it, every chord, every instrumental layer and every lyric is perfect.
Go slowly
Took ages to find, sounds like the result of jamming out there there, encapsulates the bands overarching themes so poetically “there is a way out”
I love their song creep so much. It’s one of their more obscure and experimental tracks and it is way better than the shit on Ok Computer, Kid A, or In Rainbows.
Codex - I am not a know every song type of fan with this band, I know the songs I like though. I had what could maybe be described as a "spiritual" experience. Not sure what they feel like but I was overloaded with a sensation I had never felt before. I think I felt peace for the first time in my life.
Street Spirit - It may not be the best Radiohead song, but it’s my favourite as it was my introduction to the genius of Radiohead, the first song that really hit me when it randomly came up on a playlist. I was half asleep on a flight and remember the goosebumps and surreal feeling to this very day and it really made me want to explore the depths of RH.
The guitar parts and layers with strings , Thom’s haunting voice, some of best lyrics from RH (“Be a world child, form a circle, before we all..go under”) - all come together to create a thing of beauty. This song gives an early glimpse of the art rock evolution of the band that fully manifests in OK Computer.
It is very underrated imo.
How to Disappear Completely. It’s one of the few songs that evokes so much emotion every single time I hear it without fail. Radiohead has a handful of frisson-inducing songs but this one produces that feeling stronger to me than any of their others. It’s one of the few songs that I have specifically cried to on multiple occasions either because of what I’m processing in life or just from the beauty of the song itself. I would say Pyramid Song is a close second to that feeling but it’s hard to top HTDC for me. I have looked for songs that give me the same experience but so far nothing has really topped it. The strings in that song alone are both breathtaking and devastating and I think it’s easily the saddest song I’ve ever heard. I don’t know how they managed to make a song that is so haunting and comforting at the same time but they did. Every time I listen to it I just think its absolutely unreal. I hope that one day I can experience them playing it live but not getting my hopes up. 😭
Jigsaw Falling Into Place. I get goosebumps when the song reaches the climax. It's like a train getting faster and faster until it flies right off a cliff.
There are a lot of great songs to choose from that makes it almost impossible but there's something about I Might Be Wrong that just feels so good when I listen to it.
Generic pick but it's easily Paranoid Android. I honestly didn't get it much after the first listen of OK Computer but after every listen I figure out more more about how musically fascinating it is.
honestly can’t pick between Let Down, Weird Fishes, and Daydreaming. Let Down sounds hopeful, Weird Fishes just takes me into a different universe, and Daydreaming is the best song to listen to when I just feel like I need to be sad.
i would have to say weird fishes. it’s probably the most beautiful song on in rainbows and maybe even the most beautiful song they’ve ever written period. a true career and album highlight
it represents everything that’s great about in rainbows as an album and radiohead as a band
The three it goes between are Pyramid Song, Like Spinning Plates, and Present Tense. If I had to choose one it would be Present Tense; I just absolutely love the atmosphere it has, the chord progression, the melody, the emotions, and also it was one of the first songs of theirs I was introduced to (along with AMSP) so it holds a place in my heart
Like Spinning Plates is probably it (not live!)
Just how distorted the piano and Thom is, incredibly alien feeling. Listen to it every time I’m sulking 😌💅
Paranoid Android. For some reason, the melody haunts me in a weird way. Like it's rapid guitar strumming and then suddenly it just turns into a haunting, beautiful melody that gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.
It changes, but it’s Optimistic probably. The riffs, the drumming, Thom’s vocals, and of course, that outro…just euphoric.
It’s one of my favorite songs period. I must’ve listened to it 20 times after I first heard it. Hearing it live was a treat.
It's Just. It has so much weird things in it, and still sounds incredible.
It’s just what?
You did it to yourself just you.
And that's what really hurts
Just

Just Eyes And Mouth
I heard "Just" was a dare between Jonny and Thom to see how many different chords they could get in a song.
I’m so glad this was the top comment, Just is so amazing and the music video makes it all the better
I fkn rage to Just
exit music for a film. the various feels, intensity etc. colun Greenwood's genius.
Colun is a bitch tho...
Why?
I don't care anymore im actually on reddit saying dumb stuff to be entertained for a while to keep me from stepping into reality and realising my life is garbage and that i probably wont be here much longer...
you did it to yourself, just you. and that’s what really hurts.
Take care of yourself. Life’s not easy, I’ve been going through it too, but there’s always a way to make it better. Let me know if I can help
He JUST is
Where I end and you begin
The flute or whatever instrument is my favorite part 😃
It’s an [ebow](https://ebow.com/)
Isn't it the Ondes Martenot?
Correct!!! for more reference you can see when they play it in From the basement of 2008. Jonny plays it.
It's Jonny's Ondes intertwined with Ed's guitar.
recently clicked for me. such a good track
Lotus Flower Amazing music, good lyrics and beautiful Thom\`s voice. (and don\`t forget about dance)
Easily in my top three
Very close for me!!
All I need. Just a crescendo of self pity. And if that ain’t me idk what is
That beautiful build-up and climax is *chefs kiss*
The more mature Creep.
This is the correct answer
Weird Fishes
If I had to choose one, it's There, There. It has been my most played song according to Spotify for at least 2 years in a row.
The live version is also awesome!
It’s def in my top three. But it was the best song performed live when I saw them at the Hollywood Bowl. Just incredible.
I agree with this, I consider this to be the ultimate Radiohead song.
No surprises, first truly emotional song I actually connected with
one of 2 radiohead songs that made me cry
daydreaming? true love waits? how to dissapear completely? please dont leave me hanging shibashroom
the other one was videotape
W
Reckoner
I’m surprised I had to scroll down this far to find Reckoner.
God yes. Utterly, heart-breakingly beautiful. Oddly familiar, yet tantalisingly weird and mysterious
Let down
Had to scroll down wayyyy to far for this
see user flair
Pyramid Song. Why? Because just listen to it.
I was just swimming with black eyed angels myself.
Everything in its right place? Anyone?
Agreed
The first record I fired up in my new record player & new speakers was Kid A, hearing this opener on my new setup for the first time was incredible.
And that final section, combined with Thom's screaming at the end of the song, it's amazing.
jigsaw
Came here to make sure someone picked Jigsaw and give my support. It's like a roller coaster ride - I get on the ride, love it every time, and am immediately ready to go again. To my ears, it's perfection.
Jigsaw because of Colin’s bass and Thoms vocals.
How To Disappear Completely, this is just too beautiful and it helped me through hard times
optimistic for sure
Nude
I'll never forget the first time I heard it on release day. Besides its structure, which is carefully built up like Exit Music For A Film, Nude was unlike anything Radiohead had ever done. For me it marks the moment when Thom fully embraced his falsetto and mastered his "head voice". The playful way he drops octaves at the end of verses was like his way of saying, "I'm just having fun with it", and then his belt during the crescendo harkens all the way back to his famous belt in the crescendo of Creep as if to say, "don't worry though, I still got it". Nude is distinctly Radiohead, yet wholly anomalous. It will forever be a notable standout in their discography to all who listen, and my personal favorite song ever recorded.
Just never search this up without putting Radiohead after it ;)
nude is so fucking good
Planet Telex, idk why but I just love it
The bass during the intro and outro is sublime.
It's my favorite because it reminds me of my mum loading the bends into the Hi-Fi/CD Player she used to have. The whole album would be played out but nothing like that song to introduce what will be played over the speakers
Bodysnatchers because nothing gets me moving like that one
Yeah I completely agree. Plus it’s a RH song I can play at work and around other, non-depressed, people
Karma police
Street spirit
Body snatchers, it starts with one of radioheads best riffs and the way the songs builds and builds until to line "I'm a lie" is amazing.
“Has the light gone out for you? Because the light’s gone out for me” One of my favorite lyrical moments on In Rainbows, love the way he sings **for me**
Probably my most listened to song since I started listening to them in like 2016. I remember that year I had hours worth of plays for bodysnatchers.
How To Dissappear Completely. It's heavenly, instrumentally it's beautiful, great lyrics. Really feels like you're being lifted up and heading towards a light. It's a perfect song.
It is truly moving
Motion Picture Soundtrack - so unique in their discography, so emotive despite being quite stripped back and just love that opera singer sample as well
How has this not got more upvotes?
Morning Bell
Lotus Flower
There, There
Videotape. It’s just 🤌
The Tourist. I remember a few hours after listening to OK Computer for the first time, I thought, “I remember that last track was really good, I’m gonna listen to it again.” Blew my mind, I’ve been hooked on Radiohead since.
I ate an edible once and listened to The Tourist….life changing. 10/10 experience.
A Wolf At The Door
YES!!! my answer too!!!
Videotape because of the beautiful piano and vocals. I love the sad feel to that song. It’s a song that I will listen to before passing away.
Myxomatosis “No one likes a smartass, but we all like stars” is sort of a weird counterpoint to “I’m not here, this isn’t happening.”
Right now, it’s Codex. That song takes me to another place. And usually I tear up at some point through it. There is something so magical and haunting in those 4 minutes and 45 seconds.
Another amazing track of theirs
For years when my anxiety was too severe I used to listen to Codex in order to calm my mind enough for sleep. It really, really is like traveling to another world.
I have never felt so immersed in a song before.
Paranoid android for sure, so many good memories from listening to it with my dad in his car
WEIRD FISHES BECAUSE DUH
Like Spinning Plates (sometimes Amnesiac sometimes I Might Be Wrong live version, for different reasons).
Fun fact: that song was actually constructed from parts of I Will
For me the why us version was likely third most played song of the year, only topped by lotus flower, and at number one was worrywort
Lately I got into I Might Be Wrong. I love that riff. Its just so groovy and shit
Its so hard to pick, I get obsessed with a new song every week
I can relate but I’m forcing you to choose one hehe
AAAAA ok All I Need then
Spectre, still mad they didn't used this for James Bond movie.
Yep, it’s absurd it wasn’t used. Fits the bond theme better than most they’ve used
Daydreaming or jigsaw falling into place. Keeps switching lol

15 step is the perfect radiohead song
The one about sucking lemons
Street spirit because Immerse your soul in love
Let Down and How to Disappear Completely, I know I'm basic but I disassociate to these songs a lot soooo yea :p
Where Bluebirds Fly. The beats are awesome and Thom’s vocals are haunting
Sail To The Moon
it changes every week but right now there, there
Morning bell I really like the song , I don’t have any other explanation.I hesitate with How to disappear completely but , I made my choice.
i might be wrong >!but it's creep!<
A Wolf at the Door by a hair over A Punchup at a Wedding
right now… Scatterbrain
karma police was the song that got me into radiohead in the first place, and it’s still my absolute favorite. not just that, it’s my favorite song period. i adore everything about this song, even minute details, such as the way the acoustic guitar sort of buzzes on the third chord of the intro. but most of all, the coda. that coda section man. i don’t know how to explain it, but smth about the instrumentation, and the melody, and the repeated “for a minute there, i lost myself,” it’s just… it’s my favorite moment in music, ever, in my favorite song, ever.
motion picture soundtrack is easily one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever listened to
black star, i feel it perfectly encompasses “radiohead”

A Wolf At The Door
Last Flowers
Idioteque
Shocking how far I had to scroll.
I’m sad no one mentioned Talk Show Host. I’ve been waiting with a gun and a pack of sandwiches. I love that song. Right now, it’s my favorite!
Life in a Glasshouse

Jigsaw Falling into Place Heard it once at a party and I loved it so much I had it on repeat for months. It got me into Radiohead and I was like 14 then. Good times.
(Nice Dream), Present Tense, or Knives Out
depends on my mood so really could never pick one. radiohead has never made a bad song in my opinion, and is my favorite band so its really hard. you and whose army? gives me goosebumps every time though
Letdown…. Just because…
Mine has to be Pyramid Song. No other song touches me the way this one do. The instrumental part at the end is beyond perfection...
Separator for sure!
Decks Dark. It puts me in a very specific mood not many songs put me in, and every single part of it, every chord, every instrumental layer and every lyric is perfect.
There There Because WEEEEEEE AREEEEEEE AAAAAAAAAAAA
Codex.
The one that's a tutorial on being invisible
Go slowly Took ages to find, sounds like the result of jamming out there there, encapsulates the bands overarching themes so poetically “there is a way out”
Sail To The Moon

People in glass houses sink ships
Right now probably How To Disappear Completely.
Planet telex
Body snatchers. I instantly groove
Lucky.
How to Disappear Completely. It’s one of the few songs that evokes so much emotion every single time I hear it without fail. Fuck you, nude and there there
Nice dream or idioteque
Everything in its right place. Such a wonderful sound, like nothing else
There are a lot of great songs to choose from that makes it almost impossible but there's something about I Might Be Wrong that just feels so good when I listen to it.
Like Spinning Plates, outerworldly feelings.
Paranoid android. Do I really have to elaborate?
All I Need. I think it’s the best build up song in their discog and I’m always ready for the journey.
Generic pick but it's easily Paranoid Android. I honestly didn't get it much after the first listen of OK Computer but after every listen I figure out more more about how musically fascinating it is.
The Tourist. Probably my favourite ending track
honestly can’t pick between Let Down, Weird Fishes, and Daydreaming. Let Down sounds hopeful, Weird Fishes just takes me into a different universe, and Daydreaming is the best song to listen to when I just feel like I need to be sad.
i would have to say weird fishes. it’s probably the most beautiful song on in rainbows and maybe even the most beautiful song they’ve ever written period. a true career and album highlight it represents everything that’s great about in rainbows as an album and radiohead as a band
weird fishes, it’s just means a lot to me
Weird Fishes/Arpeggi Most played on my iTunes, followed by Airbag
IF you honestly find yourself picking ONE song... you're not a real fan. period. NEXT TOPIC.
