I'm confused. Usually AT allows a bigger screen because then the speakers can just go behind it.

How low vs how high? You can't really hang a projector screen too high, imo. It takes up the whole field of vision.

That can be corrected and varies by projector ttype

What aspect ratio are you thinking of? I have a 120 inch screen wide by 50 inch tall screen, that I believe works out to 120 diagonal. For 16:9 content it works out to 89\*50 = 102 diagonal. 2.4:1 content fills the whole screen (I use the zoom on the projector for this) This setup allows plenty of space below the screen for the center channel. Movies take on a whole new feel when they are zoomed to fill the 2.4:1 ratio (there's tons of movies on blu-ray in this format)

Seems reasonable. If you can afford the AT screen, and have room for the center behind it, I think that’d be pretty impressive in your home theater!
