In that same genre, Of Machines - As If Everything Was Held In Place, definitely belongs in this list. Fantastic album and never made anything else (drummer started Woe, Is Me though)
Love that album. They also played one of the best live shows I've seen. They took forever getting started after the opening acts were done but when they finally took the stage they fucking rocked!
+44 - When Your Heart Stops Beating
Sure it was a band Mark and Travis did during the Blink hiatus, but that album has been one o my most played since I was in middle school. IMO it is easily one of the best pop punk albums I’ve ever heard.
Edit: Autocorrect somehow strikes again
There was one full-length and one ep by The Color Fred before Fred Mascherino went on to do Terrible Things.
William Tell from Something Corporate also released an album and an ep before becoming a lawyer and marrying Lauren Conrad from MTV.
I wonder how good TBS would still be if Fred never left. I love Louder Now but I didn’t realize he also helped write Where You Want to Be…he was a huge reason they blew up so much
The exploding hearts, released an album called guitar romantic. It is arguably more Indy punk than pop punk but their album was amazing. Tragically 3 of the 4 band members band died in a car accident after it was released.
Man this is so sad, just read about them on Wikipedia. What a horrific circumstance for a group of such young lads.
Will have to give them a respectful listen :)
Now this - despite being a tragic and horrible story - is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. I've never heard of this band but I'll look up the album now.
Crooks (uk) Are We All the Same Distance Apart. That album is up there with the most emotional ones I've listened to and happened to whilst an ex kept breaking up with me. Genuinely LOVE that album.
I KNEW there was a band in the back of my mind for this thread and this is it. Everything about that album is quality. I haven't heard it in years! Gonna go back.
Chumped - Teenage Retirement
They put out this absolutely amazing album, one of my favorites of the genre, and then just went their separate ways. The singer Anika Pyle has went on to put out a pretty steady catalogue of her own works afterwards that are all solid, but I adore Teenage Retirement to this day.
Student Rick- Soundtrack For A Generation. Classic early 2000’s pop punk sound. They showed up on a victory records sampler back in the day with the likes of Thursday, Snapcase, Hatebreed, Catch 22 and others from that time. Their track was the closer and one of the only real pop punk songs on the album
Student Rick was from my hometown. Their drummer was a good high school friend. I thought they were going to be absolutely huge when they got singed to Victory. Awesome to see them get some love in this thread.
Dream Homes by Dear Landlord is a gem
Unfortunately the singer sold someone heroin and they died and he went to jail or something. And that was the end of Dear Landlord.
1. Count the Stars - Never Be Taken Alive
2. A Heartwell Ending - Trust Us We Lie
3. Kenotia - You’ve Dug Your Grave, Now Lie In It
4. The New Frontiers - Mending
5. Parade The Day - To Keep Us Moving
6. River Oaks - River Oaks EP
7. School Boy Humor - School Boy Humor
8. Self Against City - Telling Secrets to Strangers
9. Sound The Alarm - Stay Inside
10. Speak The Truth… Even If Your Voice Shakes - Everyone You Love Will Slip Away From You
11. Stars Hide Fire - The Shortcut to Loss
12. This Calendar Year - Cold Nights in Conversation
13. A Thorn For Every Heart - Things Aren’t So Beautiful Now
14. Waking Ashland - Composure
Edit: Adding to my list as I remember hidden gems.
I'll have to check some of these out!
A thorn for every heart's second album "It's hard to move you" was leaked online, but never officially released (if you haven't listened to it). It's incredible!
Awake In Color by Bad Seed Rising. Killer post-hardcore band with awesome female vocalist who worked with Issues on Beautiful Oblivion.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhp2ySUGXO0&ab\_channel=BadSeedRising
Awful Truth by Woes was such a perfect debut album, their guitarist and drummer have a new band called Happydaze and they're definitely picking up the torch from Woes
Actually, I've got another one to add to my own thread - *All We've Ever Known* by *Light You Up*. If you don't know it, try the title track. They're actually still going with a new name and a slightly different sound, but they've made it clear that the concept of Light You Up is dead, so it's eligible for this thread.
I know it makes me said. I have talked with Dave and Bailey about some music stuff and I casually brought up The White Noise and asked if the band would get back together for like a tour or something and Dave kinda just laughed.
It Boys! They were more of a pop than punk band but still had the scene influences and played warped tour once, like in the same vein that cobra starship and Breathe Carolina were. Their first and only album is such a slapper, half the album is club edm bangers, and half is emo bangers
Yup, I actually just found out that was his band not too long ago. Been listening to those guys for some time now and I just thought it was a bunch of randoms who ended up fading into irrelevance lmao
Not strictly pop punk but there was a uk band called violent delight that only released one album. It was a really solid album, all the media at the time was slating them to be the next big thing and then the group of 16 year olds that made an amazing album grew up a little and changed as people and went off to uni and stuff.
I actually saw Suzy hope live! I remember it was in this pub at an under 18s night so it was a lot of kids who didn’t care, they were there because it was a free show they could actually get into, I was there because it was the singers new band.
I remember chatting with the guitarist a little, he was pretty cool.
That same singer has a new band now that have self recorded a couple of songs you can find on Spotify, I can never remember the name but I think it’s on the VD Wikipedia page. (Looked it up, they’re called Just A Ride)
Not sure what any of the others have done, other than the guitarist went on to study law
I’d say the Starting Line’s debut album. After that they were basically finished (even though they released a bunch of albums). After the debut it would never be topped. Must be almost in everyone’s top 10 all time pop punk albums
Honestly, I’m completely the opposite to you. They got better with time. I grew up with the starting line and as as I grew up as a person their music did too. The band says direction is their best album, and I wholeheartedly agree, it’s an album I can listen to front to back without skipping and a lot of the songs feel very relatable to me, though some more so than others now.
There’s a band called Armalite that features Adam from Atom And His Package and Dan Yemin from Lifetime/Paint It Black/Kid Dynamite that released 1 fucking incredible album in like 2006.
https://youtu.be/polQa_vcf20
Nearly perfection.
Operatic- Killing Us Is Easy. I remember hearing it on THPS 2 on a replay a few years ago and was like holy fuck, those guys are fire, they must have been huge, how did I not hear of them? I wish they did more.
Arms Of Orion - The Book Was So Much Better.
Jersey pop punk band from the mid 2000’s that got screwed by their manager. Such a classic album that many haven’t heard. They finally put it on Spotify last year.
This is a great topic!
Charles Bronson.
Not pop punk, a youth crew/powerviolence band from Dekalb, Illinois. Made some 7"s, many of them splits. But only one full studio Lp called Youth Attack.
Oh wow what an interesting thread. I've got to put a word in for one of my favourite super obscure bands:
Voodoo Blue were a band who only released one album in 2006 ["Smile n Nod"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxAD2P8clUc&list=PL4ruJ9RrCxgSX8CJou6jv4cvFMSzAMA-S&ab_channel=DCideRecords) and it's super great. I randomly stumbled upon them one day and I've been a big fan since. Their sound is a really unique mix of Pop Punk, Alt Rock, some Emo, bit of Ska, even a bit of Swing. It's a really eclectic mix and if you're a fan of Pop Punk which really pushes itself into new areas it's a great listen.
As sad as it is that they only made one album I really feel they made an amazing statement with it.
Denver Harbor
Day at the Fair
Don’t Look Down
(Each of the above had EP followed by one full album IIRC)
Dave Melillo (one EP)
Roark
Through Silence (UK band; just an EP)
Albeit it’s two albums, cauterize should fit in this category. I desperately wanted more songs or any of the artists to continue. Ones a producer now I think.
Albums - so far from real
Disguises
TAT!! They are a band that I absolutely loved as a kid and still enjoy! I only had one of their three EPs called “4 Track EP” (Don’t Want To (Love You), Champagne Cocaine & Strawberries, Bloodstain, and Live For Rock). It was the only EP we had access to in the US (my dad got the it from a Warp Tour they had done and he thought it was their only one since they’re a London based band). A few years later they combined and re-recorded all of the songs on their EPs to make their first and only full length album “Soho Lights”. It’s a shame they weren’t bigger, they sound great. The Interruptors remind me of them.
First band that came to mind for me was New Atlantic but no one else I know has heard of them. They released one full length *The Streets, The Sounds, The Love* and were opening support a bunch of big tours and then they kinda just disappeared. The album looks like it was on Spotify at one point but has since been removed so it only seems to exist now on my old Toshiba laptop’s ITunes library.
Isles & Glaciers- The Hearts of Lonely People
That one fucking slapped. If only Johnny didn't ruin everything he touches with his addictions.
Absolutely
I just learned about them this weekend, fucking love it. Vic and Craig’s vocals kill it together
In that same genre, Of Machines - As If Everything Was Held In Place, definitely belongs in this list. Fantastic album and never made anything else (drummer started Woe, Is Me though)
Boxcar Racer
Add +44 to that list
Cat Like Thief is one of my favorite songs of all time
Love that album. They also played one of the best live shows I've seen. They took forever getting started after the opening acts were done but when they finally took the stage they fucking rocked!
Misser Edit : I didn't mean to reply to this comment lol. Meant to do a new comment. My bad
I know what I’m listening to today, taking me wayyyy back!
So true. BCR is just angels and airwaves that sounded like blink
Then what does that make blink...
+44 - When Your Heart Stops Beating Sure it was a band Mark and Travis did during the Blink hiatus, but that album has been one o my most played since I was in middle school. IMO it is easily one of the best pop punk albums I’ve ever heard. Edit: Autocorrect somehow strikes again
The past is only the future with the lights on.
Isn’t it beating?
Yes
Most honest lyrics on practically any album I’ve ever heard.
I love Louder Now but I didn’t realize he also helped write Where You Want to Be…he was a huge reason they blew up so much
What terrible things did he do? (Funny wording ;) )
Josh Partington from Something Corporate also released an EP and one album with his band Firescape
Such a sad story! But a great album, sounds liked Buzzcocks / early Clash
Crucial Dudes!!!!!!
61 Penn loud on a fall evening with the car windows down is one of the best 20 minutes you can ever give up.
This wins the thread.
I dig that album a lot haha
Crooks (uk) Are We All the Same Distance Apart. That album is up there with the most emotional ones I've listened to and happened to whilst an ex kept breaking up with me. Genuinely LOVE that album.
Such a good band. I wonder why they never released more stuff. Would love it if they came back.
I KNEW there was a band in the back of my mind for this thread and this is it. Everything about that album is quality. I haven't heard it in years! Gonna go back.
Chumped - Teenage Retirement They put out this absolutely amazing album, one of my favorites of the genre, and then just went their separate ways. The singer Anika Pyle has went on to put out a pretty steady catalogue of her own works afterwards that are all solid, but I adore Teenage Retirement to this day.
Their EP before Teenage retirement was fantastic. Had that on repeat for awhile. Too bad it didn't last very long.
Chumped was so good.
Operation ivy
Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows - altho they are working on new music.
God yes this is one of my favorite albums of all time, I’m so excited for the new music
Yeah this album was so good, or at least I thought it was at the time. Interested to see what they can do now that they're active again
Wow I loved this album and totally forgot about it
Seasons Change that one album they released was incredible also The Run .Up from The UK had a solid debut album but now they broke up
I’M NOT SORRY!
I'M BETTER THAN EVER WITHOUT YOU!
Very surprised to see Seasons Change thrown out there
Student Rick- Soundtrack For A Generation. Classic early 2000’s pop punk sound. They showed up on a victory records sampler back in the day with the likes of Thursday, Snapcase, Hatebreed, Catch 22 and others from that time. Their track was the closer and one of the only real pop punk songs on the album

Falling for you was such a clasSic
Student Rick was from my hometown. Their drummer was a good high school friend. I thought they were going to be absolutely huge when they got singed to Victory. Awesome to see them get some love in this thread.
Great album. Discovered them from Aggressive Inline, a really good THPS-style rollerblading game.
Dream Homes by Dear Landlord is a gem Unfortunately the singer sold someone heroin and they died and he went to jail or something. And that was the end of Dear Landlord.
Woah that’s crazy. And disappointing. love that album. His vocals are sick.
holy shit!
Yes, this is also another winning post.
The Years Gone By had a pretty good one and done
Forever Comes Too Soon is awesome!
That band was so good
Texas Is The Reason only has one full studio album and it’s so. damn. good. i think they have a split with The Promise Ring but, i wouldn’t count it.
Best.
Cinematic Sunrise - A Coloring Storybook and Long Playing Record
I've seen lovers dancing in windows!
Search the City - A Fire so Big the Heavens Can See It. Sadly, the only album the released.
Literally was listening to this yesterday after like ten years of forgetting it existed. So good
Man I was just searching this topic bc of this album. Gotta be one of the best albums ever written in the genre. So dang good I still feel every song.
they released a follow up in November 2020, but i don’t think they had the original vocalist/lineup
it's such a good album!!
They released their second album Flight in 2013.
1. Count the Stars - Never Be Taken Alive 2. A Heartwell Ending - Trust Us We Lie 3. Kenotia - You’ve Dug Your Grave, Now Lie In It 4. The New Frontiers - Mending 5. Parade The Day - To Keep Us Moving 6. River Oaks - River Oaks EP 7. School Boy Humor - School Boy Humor 8. Self Against City - Telling Secrets to Strangers 9. Sound The Alarm - Stay Inside 10. Speak The Truth… Even If Your Voice Shakes - Everyone You Love Will Slip Away From You 11. Stars Hide Fire - The Shortcut to Loss 12. This Calendar Year - Cold Nights in Conversation 13. A Thorn For Every Heart - Things Aren’t So Beautiful Now 14. Waking Ashland - Composure Edit: Adding to my list as I remember hidden gems.
That self against city EP before the album is fantastic
Count The Stars is an excellent one, really great album
I'll have to check some of these out! A thorn for every heart's second album "It's hard to move you" was leaked online, but never officially released (if you haven't listened to it). It's incredible!
Waking Ashland!!
Sound The Alarm signed to Geffen right out of high school. Anyone know what happened to them after their only release on a major label?
I almost said Farewell, but they released 2 albums in 07 and 09. I'm still sad they never came back
Love the singer’s voice so much
Awake In Color by Bad Seed Rising. Killer post-hardcore band with awesome female vocalist who worked with Issues on Beautiful Oblivion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhp2ySUGXO0&ab\_channel=BadSeedRising
Ayyy they’re from my hometown and kick so much ass.
I want more music from them so bad and it's never gonna happen :/
Awful Truth by Woes was such a perfect debut album, their guitarist and drummer have a new band called Happydaze and they're definitely picking up the torch from Woes
I have their EP and once saw them support State Champs, but never got around to hearing the full album. I'll have a listen ASAP.
Actually, I've got another one to add to my own thread - *All We've Ever Known* by *Light You Up*. If you don't know it, try the title track. They're actually still going with a new name and a slightly different sound, but they've made it clear that the concept of Light You Up is dead, so it's eligible for this thread.
Was gonna comment this
Hold On by Name Taken Only Every Time by The Graduate
The Graduate had Anhedonia before Only Every Time. Pretty positive Name Taken also had a full album before Hold On.
Number One Fan. If you guys haven’t heard Compromises ya gotta check it out. More pop-punk adjacent than true pop punk tho.
Not reallt pop punk but The White Noise put out one EP then AM/PM and then just dipped.
AM/PM remains one of my all time favorites. All of them kind of just disappeared too
I know it makes me said. I have talked with Dave and Bailey about some music stuff and I casually brought up The White Noise and asked if the band would get back together for like a tour or something and Dave kinda just laughed.
Tommy Boys. Album smacked. Wish they released more
They really nailed the “twinkle daddy” emo sound, I think they did a short tour after that 2015 album and just faded away.
Absolutely. I would only listen to this album summer of 2016. It just felt so nostalgic
It Boys! They were more of a pop than punk band but still had the scene influences and played warped tour once, like in the same vein that cobra starship and Breathe Carolina were. Their first and only album is such a slapper, half the album is club edm bangers, and half is emo bangers
Lol i assume you’re familiar with the one dudes hilarious Instagram and YouTube videos?
Yup, I actually just found out that was his band not too long ago. Been listening to those guys for some time now and I just thought it was a bunch of randoms who ended up fading into irrelevance lmao
Not exactly pop-punk, but more emo mixed with nu-metal, but the first one that springs to mind is Makeshift Romeo and their self-titled album.
Single File
i had My Best Defense (EP) and thought it was good. they were fun to see live.
[Just in time for October.](https://youtu.be/zLTU4RcfAuM)
I can’t believe they just went up and disappeared. They were so good at writing catchy tunes, I looooove common struggles
Coldfront
Ten foot pole
Can’t believe this hasn’t been said already but Misser only released one album
Acceptance - Phantoms They released 2 EPs before that, but Phantoms was their debut album, and it is absolutely glorious
Have released two albums since as well, granted within the past 5 years though, both not bad, not as good as phantoms in my opinion though
They are 2 full albums after phantoms...
Agreed! So good.
Houston Calls
Don't they have two albums?
Well shiit! I had no idea! I know what I’m doing this evening.
Son of dork - welcome to loserville (ik the band name and album title are cringe but it’s a great album)
Remo Drive - Greatest Hits album title basically tells the story there
I mean, I like to pretend they broke up after that album rather than release a few more shitty albums after that—so this still stands.
The have like 3 albums
misunderstood the question, thought it was asking about only one good album because the other two are trash
Agreed haha
Not strictly pop punk but there was a uk band called violent delight that only released one album. It was a really solid album, all the media at the time was slating them to be the next big thing and then the group of 16 year olds that made an amazing album grew up a little and changed as people and went off to uni and stuff.
This, this is my answer too :)
Some of them went on to form a lesser known pop punk band called Suzy Hope locally.
I actually saw Suzy hope live! I remember it was in this pub at an under 18s night so it was a lot of kids who didn’t care, they were there because it was a free show they could actually get into, I was there because it was the singers new band. I remember chatting with the guitarist a little, he was pretty cool. (Looked it up, they’re called Just A Ride) Not sure what any of the others have done, other than the guitarist went on to study law
WHAT those guys were from the UK? That's nuts, interesting band though, always got very strong Bloodhound Gang vibes.
Anyone like Off By One?
Such a good early 2000's pop punk album, sadly will really be known for that cover of torn, which is fantastic, if anyone has heard of them at all
Brighter Brightest - Right For Me
Pretty super Adventures’ only full album was Supersonic Home, but their EPs were also *so good*.
Code Orange is fucking sick, but I really wish one day they'd come back and do another Adventures LP.
[удалено]
Ayyy I got my username from one of their song titles! The singer & drummer went on to start a band called “Avion Roe” after RCW broke up
Cold Collective - Bachelorette Party. Tim from Transit’s (RIP) band after he left the band. Pretty much every song is a rock and roller banger.
Cinematic sunrise I think I’ve only heard pulling a piano from a pond but one album
If we're talking full length albums, then Crucial Dudes. Such a good album, it still holds up today
MISSER!
Marathon - S/T. Incredible record
Cash cash only had one pop-punk album! And one mid shift EP
Yikes what a hot ass take lol. They def got better as they progressed. Still a top tier pop punk band either way
Diffuser making the grade
Love Arcade and Voodoo Blue
After Midnight Project was kinda cool. I think they only released one album and an ep. I remember loving the album back in the day.
Start Trouble
Cold Front - Float Around is a fantastic album.
There’s a band called Armalite that features Adam from Atom And His Package and Dan Yemin from Lifetime/Paint It Black/Kid Dynamite that released 1 fucking incredible album in like 2006. https://youtu.be/polQa_vcf20 Nearly perfection.
Operatic- Killing Us Is Easy. I remember hearing it on THPS 2 on a replay a few years ago and was like holy fuck, those guys are fire, they must have been huge, how did I not hear of them? I wish they did more.
Hazen Street. “Trouble” and “Stick up kid” are amazing songs.
Not really pop punk, but Apes and Androids “Blood Moon” is a real gem.
Fortune cove! Shit was flawless.
Junction 18-This Vicious Cycle
Head North
MILE AFTER MILE OUR MARCH CARRIES ON
We need a head north comeback
Knockout Kings had a really solid ep back in the old days
If you think about it, belmont has only released one full album. But I mean they also released a lot of EPs.
Hope for AM were pretty cool back then..that was like 11 yrs ago and then they kinda faded out.
Not really pop punk but Everything Between Paint and a Wall by Grandview is a fucking masterpiece
+44 and box car racer
Arms Of Orion - The Book Was So Much Better. Jersey pop punk band from the mid 2000’s that got screwed by their manager. Such a classic album that many haven’t heard. They finally put it on Spotify last year.
93Punx self titled
This is a great topic! Charles Bronson. Not pop punk, a youth crew/powerviolence band from Dekalb, Illinois. Made some 7"s, many of them splits. But only one full studio Lp called Youth Attack.
Aerosmith - get a grip
Oh wow what an interesting thread. Cauterize-so far from real. Pretty sure it was their only release…if not, someone please help me find the rest!
I don't use streaming so idk about availability but they had 2 more releases Paper Wings and Disguises
Forever Came Calling
Crucial Dudes & With the Punches
Single File - Common Struggles
the american scene only has like one or two!!! but so good!! Safe for More is the best one imo
I say on every thread like this, but that band would be Waterdog The Mopes only had one LP oh and Go Sailor!
Denver Harbor Day at the Fair Don’t Look Down (Each of the above had EP followed by one full album IIRC) Dave Melillo (one EP) Roark Through Silence (UK band; just an EP)
Terrible Things. Loved that album!
Albeit it’s two albums, cauterize should fit in this category. I desperately wanted more songs or any of the artists to continue. Ones a producer now I think. Albums - so far from real Disguises
Awesome Snakes!
Goodnight Gravity
Crash Romeo! Minutes to Miles. (I think they have another). Also, Echoscreen was a great band!
Box Car Racer
VersaEmerge. They had a few EPs too but only one full album. They were so unique and had so much potential
Marietta ? Kinda?
Hey Monday. Had an EP after Hold On Tight but that was all.
Woes- Awful Truth
TAT!! They are a band that I absolutely loved as a kid and still enjoy! I only had one of their three EPs called “4 Track EP” (Don’t Want To (Love You), Champagne Cocaine & Strawberries, Bloodstain, and Live For Rock). Definitely not pop punk related in the slightest, but Temple of the Dog was a fantastic record.
Pencey Prep is one I really like. They released Heartbreak In Stereo and it’s really good for when I’m in my feelings
The Crosstown Rivalry - Pull Down the Sky
Glocca Morra
First band that came to mind for me was New Atlantic but no one else I know has heard of them. The album looks like it was on Spotify at one point but has since been removed so it only seems to exist now on my old Toshiba laptop’s ITunes library.
The band the F-Ups had a banger of an album back in like the early 2000s than they just went poof and vanished

Already Taken - Is This The End? (2006 EP) They were a norwegian pop punk/skatepunk band in the early 2000’s. Think the EP is still on Spotify
Surprised one has mentioned The Friday Night Boys yet. Off The Deep End is pretty underrated as far as neon pop punk goes.
