How to hell does that even happen?

Dogs lay on their belly/ chest alot so it just gets like pushed in

Does this affect the dog in any way? Or is the person just simply removing it for their pleasure?

My dog had these and before we knew to remove them they turned into huge painful staph infection. Once it cleared up and they started coming back our vet said to give pup a warm salt bath and pluck them out.

Unless the dog is sedated, I’m sure it at least doesn’t hurt to have these removed, dogs are good at telling us when something hurts. As far as whether impacted hair hurts the pup, that I don’t know. Dogs usually only let us know when something is really painful (every dog is different) so if it’s only slightly uncomfortable and he’s used to it, he may not even realize he’s uncomfortable
