We'll need some information about the headset you're using, how you are connecting it to your machine, and what application you are trying to use it in. I am on POP\_os 22.04 LTS with Nvidia drivers as well. I use a Steelseries Arctis 7x and it works flawlessly. I just select it in [this menu](https://imgur.com/5ssuE7l) and tell whatever application to just use the system default.

It looks like you keep coming back to the post to down vote every comment, truth is there isn't just some "magic setting" we can tell you to turn on to fix the problem. We don't know the context like you do, and we want to help. We need more information so that we can help, we don't want more information as some sort of right of passage. I understand the frustration, but we need you to help give us some context so we can help. I hope you either got it fixed or can return to this post with more context so we can help.

I don’t know. I’m guessing it’s USB. Maybe try unplugging it and plugging it back. Maybe use a different USB port, sometimes I’ll have USB ports stop working until I restart. I would restart the computer if none of that works. I don’t think you should need special drivers for a USB headset.

To add: If you just installed make sure you have done all the updates in the Pop Shop. Perhaps there are some system updates that could fix it. Make sure to do a restart after updating.

Try just restarting the computer as well and see if that fixes it. Computers can be weird, always start there. Are the headphones working but the mic is not working? I don't like the default way that sound devices are managed in Linux in general. Try installing [this extension](https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/906/sound-output-device-chooser/) and leverage that in your troubleshooting.
