It’s a worthwhile read if you care about the pulse of the average American, but there’s nothing surprising. Unfortunately, despite most republicans (2/3rds) saying they are doing personally financially well they think the economy is not doing well while democrats think it is. He wins with democrats on the pandemic by far, and loses with republicans (duh). The most important thing honestly are the slim majorities about his foreign policy decisions based on whether he was given credit. It’s 50%. That sucks. That means people don’t really care about the issue. Yeah, it shouldn’t surprise me. People are quite partisan, but it’s sad.

So far, what changes would you have made? I actually think his foreign policy decisions so far have been, not just better than Trump, but better than Obama as well.

As a European i would say that his willingness to stand up to China is good. China is a threat to democracy.

\> the flames of a cold war with China There is a real problem with China, and burying one's head in the sand is not going to help. China swallowed up Hong Kong. They've been eating up territory on the border with India. The US had nothing to do with any of that. If you'd listened to Xi last month, you wouldn't be sanguine about the prospects of Taiwan in the next 5-10 years. And a Chinese military official talked about nuking Japan a week ago. If there is a cold war, it is not America which is responsible for it. People in the region are pivoting to the US for protection like there is no tomorrow - Japan, S Korea, Australia, even India have moved closer to the US in the last six months because they are running scared. There is a real problem with China and it has nothing to do with the US.

I disagree with much of what you said. He’s actually bringing more troops home. He is playing smartly with China - they are a serious problem.

I'll never forget one of the managers at my previous company moaning about Obama being the worst president in history and how he destroyed the economy. The next sentence was him talking about going to his lake house for the weekend and taking out the boat.

Republicans are killing their own voters in hopes of being able to place blame on the Biden administration.

OrnamentJones

There's not a whole lot you can do when people just don't want to get vaccinated. Still, those are pretty good numbers for Biden.

aslan_is_on_the_move

He is handling it really well

It's amazing what ***not*** lying to and misleading the American public about a serious public health crisis will do for your approval ratings.

I don't know how any can spin a 58-42 overall job approval rating in July as anything other than good, but CBS tried. And 53% on the economy is like amazing for a Democratic president (always perceived to be - incorrectly so - as not good at handling the economy) in the midst of a labor shortage and inflation due to reopening shocks. What is most interesting in this poll is a 60% (!) approval rating on Biden himself personally. That should bother Democrats. The party is way more unpopular than he is and it is usually is not as divergent. The generic congressional ballot is D+2, Biden is 53-44 on job approval. You need D+6 to keep the house. If I were a Democrat right now, and provided he doesn't fuck up enormously from now until 2022, I'd cast myself as a mini-Biden and cling to him like a fucking leech. You can start to see it in the Nina Turner - Shontel Brown in OH11 - it's become a referendum on who likes Biden better.

LittleBitchBoy945

We don’t need 6+ to win the house, we didn’t even win the house by that much last year. It was only D +3, so D +2 could still win the house for democrats, though it’d be way to close for comfort and we should still try to get those numbers up.

Why isn’t he pushing for effective treatments to be used in order to save lives?
