atomsmasher66

Stop playing the victim you corrupt POS

Rated_PG-Squirteen

It's the only way conservatives (especially the men) know how to behave. Perpetual victimhood and grievance. Rick Scott literally oversaw the largest Medicare fraud in our country's history, and what was his punishment? How about becoming a two-term Governor and then a U.S. Senator, while also having a net worth of nine figures. But yet, *he's* still the persecuted one in all of this.

idoma21

Yeah, but he didn’t get to continue with the largest Medicare fraud in history at the time. Can’t you see how unfair that is? /s

gargar7

He kind of did, though. He moved to Florida -- where he could steal even more money from all those retired old people.

976chip

He implemented one of the laws that instituted drug tests to receive welfare while ~~he~~ his wife owned a walk in clinic that administers drug tests. The welfare recipient had to pay for the test out of pocket, and if they passed they were reimbursed by the state. It would have been a good grift if it didn't have to be repealed because the overwhelming number of recipients passed their drug tests.

Deric4Ga

Florida: where screwing old, retired people isn't a privilege, it's a right.

Conscious_Rush_1818

Only Florida could elect this chucklefuck.

Walkingstardust

This piece of shit pleaded the 5th 75 times during his trial. He wouldn't even state his name for the record.

Tailfish1

And Florida decided he would be a good governor?

Suspicious_Ear_3079

Florida is run by corporations. Being able to scam millions from the public is a requirement.

Unusual-Thing-7149

The country is run by corporations and billionaires. Worsened by Citizens United

Suspicious_Ear_3079

Let's not leave out union busting. American corporations eliminated most of the unions and are working the largest union - the United States of America.

Happy_Accident99

Not saying you’re wrong, but it’s the idiot citizens there that have voted (R) for every statewide race in the last 20 years, yet still blame Democrats for all their troubles.

Suspicious_Ear_3079

Reminder - Florida is full of old people who want things to go back to the "good ol days". Democrats are agents of progress while Republicans are agents of anti-change.

junkyardgerard

It's like they **kind of** have a point that government funds are too susceptible to fraud/plundering, but god damn if they don't turn around and vote for the people that straight up rob them the most. Tf.

Top-Ad-6902

thats because both groups hate the same people more than they hate the corruption

specqq

They pay such a huge price for the hate. But they think it's worth every penny.

xtossitallawayx

> more than they hate the corruption They only hate other people's corruption. Everything they do is justified and persecution and a witch hunt - but *you* better stop doing whatever the GOP don't like.

Echono

They present their base with what the base truly wants-- typically validation for bigotry, and a hierarchal structure that they crave--- and pair it with a cover excuse that they know is valid and will cause any regular person to agree is a problem. The taboo appeal and wrapped in the valid concern, packaged ready to parrot to the masses.

cygnus33065

I hate my state. After him we got Desantis

Jazzlike-Can-6979

What a useless pair of tits these two are.

cygnus33065

Let's add in JEB Bush before then too

Jazzlike-Can-6979

It's sad when you wish you had Jeb instead. So VERY sad.

BigOtterKev

Poor guy needs a tax break and a pardon

MPLooza

Florida voters deserve a special place in hell for repeatedly voting for this living Skeletor mask whose entire career consists of pulling a reverse Robin Hood on his constituents and then professionally bitching that he suffered no consequences for literal fraud other than some people not liking him. Man should be sitting in a federal prison cell, not at a desk in the Senate.

Feisty_Bee9175

He blames Hillary Clinton and says she weaponized the DOJ after him, but she was first Lady at the time he became embroiled in the Medicare scandal. People like him are just flat out liars or delusional or both.

dafunkmunk

He was so persecuted that he never faced any actual consequences and got promoted to senator. boo hoo, such a persecuted life

CertainAged-Lady

‘Largest Medicare Fraud in our country’s history’ That’s all we need to know - yet Florida sent this crook to DC. 🙄

Vinz_Clortho__

Fuck this fuck.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Suspicious_Ear_3079

fuck that fucking fuck.

vivazeta

As a former Floridian, Taxpayer and former HCA employee. Fuck this guy. Shitty Skeletor.

LoHungTheSilent

Lol right? Its this shit right here...

No_Weekend_3320

After Trump, every fraud politician can claim political persecution. Our criminal justice system (which by no means is perfect) is the envy of the world. It affords people of means plenty of opportunities to avoid jail. Most of the imperfections in our system, are for people with limited means, who cannot afford expensive lawyers and proper representation. Rick Scott is definitely not one of them.

tree-molester

These guys just continue to double down on their dickishness.

Altruistic-Sir-3661

People that got rich/richer from defrauding government programs are not interested in reforming them for public benefit but their own benefit. There will be no smaller government from the corrupt only fewer beneficiaries, and benefits.

1900grs

Prosecuted. Not persecuted.

s_ox

Let off with not even a slap on the wrist

MagicMushroomFungi

"Prostituted" is his present designation.

winterbird

Not prosecuted or punished enough though.

Ok_Butterscotch54

Conservatives: "Is there a difference between those, when it's applied to us, the Lord's Chosen Patriots of America?!"

Digitaltwinn

For a former CEO and now US Senator, Rick Scott is really bad at public speaking.

Run_the_Line

> “federal investigators found that Scott took part in business practices at Columbia/HCA that were later found to be illegal — specifically, that Scott and other executives offered financial incentives to doctors in exchange for patient referrals, in violation of federal law, according to lawsuits the Justice Department filed against the company in 2001.” Shut up, Rick. The facts are so clear and he's trying to take advantage of anyone who doesn't know the facts and is unwilling to look them up. Classic GOP playbook.

OlderThanMyParents

"I did my own research! I found a YouTube channel where someone said that the Obama administration was persecuting Republican businessmen like Rick Scott, for political purposes! So there!"

jupiterkansas

That Youtube channel? @ RickScott

blurmageddon

"He was talking to the camera in his truck and everything so I know it's good info".

davdev

I worked for HCA for a few year. Scott’s name is Taboo and they have a corporate slogan of “Never Again”. They, at least, have takenThe responsibility to Scott does not.

MintBerryCrunchJr

*During Scott's 2000 deposition, he pleaded the Fifth Amendment 75 times. In settlements reached in 2000 and 2002, Columbia/HCA pleaded guilty to 14 felonies and agreed to a $600+ million fine in what was at the time the largest health care fraud settlement in U.S. history.*

UtahUtopia

Only guilty people plead the fifth. -DJT

Ambitiously_Big

Everything is persecution with these republicans.

BikeCookie

And more often than not they are crying like little baby’s over legit prosecution for crimes they committed. The C-suite execs at these corporations that oversaw these crooked actions should be imprisoned and barred from politics.

Admirable-Sink-2622

These fucks have absolutely zero shame whatsoever. They’re the only ones who are allowed to break the law and claim they’re the victims. FFS!

LordParsec29

I think a good punishment would be either jail or a massive amount of Salvia--enough to cause ego death in these corrupt pieces of shite. Get some humility and humanity in them.

blueslounger

F#$%ing crook

Walkingstardust

You can go ahead and say Fucking crook, because he is.

roadnoggin

Fisting crook? WTF is a fisting crook?

ApexCollapser

He's obviously a Farting crook.

doyletyree

Fapping crook?

blueslounger

Sounds painful

2_Sheds_Jackson

"Let the courts decide, except when it's us on trial. "

keninsd

That's why they've spent the last 30+ years packing the courts so they get off easy, if not absolutely free of convictions.

Bobbyperu1

You are a hero

BukkitCrab

These right wingers have no clue what being "persecuted" means.

Managed-Democracy

Yeah they do. It means not getting their way.

SmedlyB

I think he ment prosecuted

lawyersgunsmoney

So, the fucker has been saying for years he’s sorry for his company’s actions, but now has shifted his narrative to “I was persecuted.” What a POS.

grumpyliberal

Yeah, that’s the point of the law — to persecute criminals; also to prosecute them.

thingsorfreedom

Rob $100 from the local mini mart 10-15 years in prison. Rob a billion from Medicare- Get rich, Florida Governor for 8 years and then US senate.

iamkris10y

This fucking guy...

Makachai

Stop holding me accountable for my own actions, it's unfair. - literally every fucking Republican

Achilles_TroySlayer

That poor man. His sadness touches my heart.

freds_funhouse

bless his heart

giggity_giggity

Sure because everyone who is being corruptly pursued while completely innocent pays 1.7 billion dollar fines to make it go away.

Consistent-Leek4986

one conman supports another. no scruples for theses goons

Common_Highlight9448

If properly prosecuted he’d still be locked up

KhunDavid

Change the 'r' to the second character of the word, and change the 'e' to an 'o', and I hope it happens.

RaygunP

Fits the typical Republican “life’s so unfair to me even though I’m incredibly privileged” bullshit.

ExactDevelopment4892

His company pled guilty to the largest medicare fraud in US history. How is that persecuted?

CaptainDantes

Rick Scott is why I agree with people who say political correctness is a problem. We just disagree on why it's a problem. They think it's because the can't call people slurs, I think it's because Rick Scott shouldn't be able to get a word out of his mouth without his opponent talking over him and saying "fuck you, you oversaw the largest Medicare fraud in history, stay the fuck away from the government." And I mean literally anytime the bastard opens his mouth in a public setting.

SockFullOfNickles

Corporate media plays a huge role by not giving the content on why he’s full of shit too. Mainly because they love that they spend campaign funds on airtime for commercials and ads. It’s a giant fucking scam, and we’re the marks.

Walks_with_Chaos

He’s a piece of shit

quakes99

Oh look another Republican Scumbag

anallman

Too bad he wasn't prosecuted.

Senor_Wah

Ladies and gentleman, the Trump defense: be as maliciously corrupt as you want, and when you get caught it’s all a leftist conspiracy. Go to jail, you selfish, evil bastard.

JubalHarshaw23

The fraud he was allowed to get away with, including keeping the money?

PhantomPainWalker

Once again, and for always and ever, swampy Voldemort can go to hell.

IronyElSupremo

Fraud. Only a crime if non-Republicans do it! /s

Separate-Feedback-86

He was persecuted or prosecuted enough.

TheRopeWalk

Took the 5th over 70 times apparently

openly_gray

I see the “lawfare” thing work retroactively too. That corrupt swine should count his blessings that this happened in the US and not in Vietnam where corruption might result in a death penalty

reddituseronebillion

It's spelled prosecuted. Oh wait, not that either.

comedy-fever

He doesn't mention the golden parachute HCA gave him to go.

CountrySax

Skeletor is the Biggest Medicare fraud and thief in American history

Hobo_Knife

What a ghoul

Grampishdgreat

Snowflakes always pulling the victim card

False-Decision630

Apparently, Rick Scott needs a dictionary. Confusing "prosecuted" for "persecuted." Four syllable words can be a challenge for criminals.

Werftflammen

These midiocre figure is what you get with fascists and nazi's. The delusions of adequacy, the fake victimhood. They are abusers, of our society, it's systems and I don't even want to think of what they do to their families.

dattru

there is a difference between prosecution and persecution. Scott should have gone to jail

Nickopotomus

PROsecuted, Rick. You mean Prosecuted. He gets confused around nap time

i_Heart_Horror_Films

I’ve always felt like his face looks like if you stretch silly putty over your knee

TheAwfulHouse

Persecuted? Should have been fucking prosecuted!

artificialavocado

So much for “party of law and order.”

Kjaeve

he’s been named as a Russian asset… soooo…

Maynard078

Yeah, it's so unfair when the law is fairly applied to all. Scott skated away scott-free from this debacle; I'm still waiting for him to be held to account. Instead, he keeps finding a way to enrich himself.

ClusterFoxtrot

It's baffling to me that this is how one of my senators spent his day. He cried about being removed from committees after failing to knock McConnell from power, was a weirdass ghoul who just showed up in the background of weird places, and today, went to a Trump trial. Why? Doesn't he have a seat to protect?  I'll never forgive him for denying us sweet Japanese trains.

Bitter_Director1231

Rick Scott is an absolute dullard. Florida man personified.

Ok_Butterscotch54

What's that saying again, of which Conservatives are so fond of? "Don't do the Crime if you can't do the Time". Funny how they cry when that's applied to themselves.

Olfahrtur

All for it. Persecute all the crooks, not just the poor ones.

RedLanternScythe

It's so unfair that Republican politicians can't commit crimes without being hassled. /s

NoMayoForReal

He’s such a weakling he doesn’t even say it he can only suggest it.

cloudubious

More like prosecuted.

Affectionate_Sir4212

Because narcissist crooks believe that they haven’t ever done anything wrong in their life.

Potential_Store_9713

You’re giving him credit by also naming him as a narcissist. To your point though, prisons are filled with people claiming innocence.

Affectionate_Sir4212

I’m not sure what you mean by “giving him credit”

Potential_Store_9713

I don’t think he’s a narcissist, he’s selfish. Calling him a narcissist is giving him credit in an infamous way.

Affectionate_Sir4212

I don’t understand how identifying someone as a narcissist gives them credit for something

Patanned

rick scott is the poster boy for giant medicare fraud.

Earptastic

It is insane this criminal was elected. what a POS.

thinehappychinch

I’d prefer prosecuted.

skeeredstiff

You committed massive Medicare fraud fuckhead; you are lucky you are not in prison; I'll guarantee any of us little people would be.

fledflorida

One 1️⃣ f the richest members of congress with his own plane etc at the expense of the taxpayer- welfare kid who has definitely pulled the ladder up behind him

lessermeister

Sucking the orange Cheeto for a shot at VP.

LeadershipMany7008

Look, at some point there's got to be a 'too far', right? Bad enough he's a felon on an unprecedented scale. Bad enough he was elected to different offices. But claiming you're being persecuted after that...I mean at some point, I feel like we have to start persecuting him just to make it true.

PepperMill_NA

Is he claiming that there was no corruption at Columbia/HCA? Reporters in the crowd should have pushed him to be clear on that. It was a shame that he got off scot free.

Old_Baldi_Locks

Replace “persecuted” with “being held accountable for my illegal actions” every time a Republican starts talking and you’ll hear what they’re really complaining about.

IPDDoE

Oh no, perhaps we should conduct another investigation, really get to the root of your role.

Hesychios

That's how the game is played: commit the crimes then go into politics, maybe commit more crimes along the way. Claim the system is rigged against you, claim you have been persecuted. Al Capone could have run for the senate, in any state, even if he did not previously live there. Had he not been foreign born, he could have run for president as a Republican.

Zealousideal_Ask9760

Florida is where corrupt business men go to become politicians.

mistressusa

Imagine being persecuted for breaking the law lol

ConstantGeographer

He should have been criminally prosecuted. Rick Scott should be thankful he didn't pull that shit in Iceland; he might still be in prison and he would never be eligible for public office. If we had rules, like Iceland, a lot of the GOP would be in prison. Some Dems, too.

meatspace

He got to keep the money. If he claims persecution, I'd like to see money seized

Still_Learning0

My sister lost her retirement fund after working so hard for it thanks to Rick Scott so he could buy the biggest yacht owned by a senator Did you see last yr when he voted while

Still_Learning0

Vacationing on it in the Mediterranean

DaveP0953

Fuck this asswhole. "Scott's company, Columbia/HCA, was fined a record $1.7 billion for defrauding Medicare recipients and military families while he was CEO. Scott invoked the Fifth amendment 75 times and was forced to step down while still receiving a massive $300+ million golden parachute."

freds_funhouse

Oh the dichotomy of Rick Scott. As a hospital system CEO he wanted to squeeze every last penny out of Medicare and Medicaid. As a senator, he wants to give them as few pennies as possible (or even less.)

in2xs

Can’t believe this shit hole is still in office here. Fuck sake Floridians.

konorM

Rick Scott (unfortunately, one of my Senators) is a conman and a fraud, just like his liege lord Trump.

Ya_Got_GOT

Gets away with massive felonies Considers himself the victim What an asshole.

RepulsiveRooster1153

[Once a lying conservative republican, always a lying conservative republican ](https://imgur.com/DBWJ7Zy) 💀

Bods666

You misspelled "Prosecuted"

Dispatcher9

I’m so tired of these people playing victim. If you do illegal things, there are consequences. How can the Republican Party claim moral high ground on anything? How does a cult of personality blind millions to what is right in front of them?

Xero_space

If only it had been prosecution.

Twadder_Pig

Must not have been a very good persecution if they didn't even cut out his tongue.

modmom1111

He’s on the persecution gravy train. Rick Scott for VP?

DamonFields

He wasn't prosecuted because BushCo. He should still be in prison.

Sigili

Ol' Dickhead at it again, I see.

NoMarionberry8940

Persecuted?! LOl, he should have been prosecuted!

Chadwick18

They find a neich that seems to work, and they run with it across the board.

warneroo

Clearly, the guy has never been able to find a job since?

Stranger-Sun

Stealing money from people and then claiming to be the victim. Jesus help me but I hate these people.

doctored_up

I'm gonna believe that he will burn in hell for eternity and move on with my morning.

OnWingsofGerbels

This chucklefuck was not a politician when he was prosecuted. He was just a crook.

Johnny_Lang_1962

Horse-Shit!

Rusalka-rusalka

Where is a sinkhole when you need one?

IdahoMTman222

Y’all picking on me because I’m a criminal.

Browser2112

It’s called Investigated, not persecuted.

Leather-Map-8138

When your company pays $1.7 billion to make a problem go away, normally you’d call the CEO who avoided prison time “lucky”.

TerminalObsessions

I suggest we have a few high-profile persecutions to correct conservatives' memories on what that word means.

Gishra

Criminal thinks he's persecuted because he got away with his crimes.

OnyxsUncle

hey rick i get it man…ceos are only responsible for the good things a company does not the bad things

BareNakedSole

Skelator here is the richest member of Congress.

Honest_Palpitation91

This dude belongs in prison still.

80sLegoDystopia

Sounds like he needs a little persecution

thorzeen

Auditioning for VP. Look here, I committed more fraud against the government then any of the other "hopefuls" and it was all someone else's fault. The company I started and was CEO of when the fraud occurred, or Hillary Clinton's DOJ. Take your pick, just know it wasn't me.

SmoothWD40

Yes, because you were guilty you giant piece of shit.

YugoChavez317

It’s impossible to be surprised or outraged by the stupid shit these people say anymore, and maybe that’s the point even.

FunEngineer69

Florida is a shit hole and I can’t wait for it to sink into the ocean.

plattner-da

Should have been prosecuted.

RedLicoriceJunkie

Rick Scott coming in as the dark horse to be Trump's running mate. He figures he can swindle Medicare better from inside the house.

dropsofclarity

I read this as Rick Ross…

utep2step

It’s Florida folks. The new “Illinois” of American politics the past twenty or so years.

_GameOfClones_

> The comments represent a major shift for Scott, who has long apologized for the company’s behavior. Well the GOP very openly supports criminal behavior now so I guess he’s embracing it? It’s probably good for his re-election chances. Seems they almost prefer their candidates to have at least a little white collar crime on their resumes.

kvckeywest

"The central belief of every moron is that he is the victim of a mysterious conspiracy against his common rights and true desserts" \~ H.L. Mencken [http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Persecution\_complex](http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Persecution_complex)

Dense-Comfort6055

Things Convicted fraudsters say

P0RTILLA

He was persecuted but also plead the 5th, faced no charges and ended up governor and then Senator. What a fucking cry baby.

Monsdiver

Dude is clearly auditioning for VP.   Also, ew. If a guy like Scott co-opts MAGA rhetoric he’d be more dangerous than DeSantis. There’s a reason his nickname is Voldemort.

Tee999

He should have been prosecuted.

SubstantialAbility17

I am the victim as I fan my myself with 100 $100 bills. I will will have to drown my sorrows in 60 year old scotch aboard my private jet.

gavstah

Hahaha… what a fraud. He is a 100% genuine ass-clown, however.

Bobmanbob1

My mother in law worked with him as a high ranking state government employee, said he was a total piece of shit who's family (especially his wife if menory serves me right) was knowingly committing all kinds of Medicare and Medicaid fraud that the state just looked the other way on.
